Location is unbeatable at the foot of the path to Kiyomizu-Dera. Waking up early to head to the temple without fighting crowds is such a treat. Staff were extremely helpful (thank you to front desk and the concierge team). Akiko-san and Joshua at Bar Kohaku were fantastic with their service and drinks. It is pricy. But Park Hyatt Kyoto does not disappoint.

Breakfast service was not up to par compared to Park Hyatt Tokyo or Park Hyatt Regency Kyoto. Staff were mixed in terms of their friendliness/service (just enough to get the job done). Could be due to the never-ending crowds as the restaurant was open to public as well. Breads were disappointing (considering we had just come from Park Hyatt Tokyo where it was exceptional).

Check-in As soon as my taxi arrived at the driveway, three staff were waiting and greeted me. They offered to take my bags directly to my room and escorted me to the lobby. It was pouring quite heavily but they made it super hassle-free. For check-in, they asked me to take a seat and the front desk staff approached me to process everything. I made prior lunch reservations at the nearby restaurant Kyoto Bistro and the front desk staff so kindly helped me make it to the restaurant while they are processing my early check-in. Everything was seamless which should be as expected of Park Hyatt, but still it surprised me how it all went. Room A staff escorted me to my room--rather, toured me on the way to my room. As soon as I arrived in my room, I was amazed by the interior design and the large windows overlooking the Yasaka Pagoda. It was the perfect room choice. My luggage from earlier was already neatly tucked in the cabinet. The bed looked soft and inviting, the bathroom so clean and modern--everything was perfect. I had a couple of favorites: (1) the personal bar, with a bountiful supply of free coffee, tea and water, different varieties of alcohol and chocolate (albeit a tad expensive); (2) the toiletries, Le Labo was the hotel's preferred choice and it was wonderful; (3) the view, which is by far the best view in Kyoto I've seen. I loved my room so much that I shamelessly took hundreds of photos of each corner lol. Hotel Amenities I made sure I maximize all of the hotel's amenities! Everything was functional and well-designed--the wellness center had a beautiful gym with everything you need; the bathhouse, which seemed like a mix of a sento and a western bath, was peaceful and relaxing; the tea room, library, lounge areas...I could go on and on... Breakfast I opted for a Japanese style breakfast as recommended by the front desk and it was the best kaiseki breakfast I've ever had!

I did not experience anything that I did not like.

location is good, overall it was super clean. we loved the in room dining. the room view is incredible!

the window can not be opened, and in winter if you turn on the air conditioning, the room will be super dry. I mentioned our special occasion before we go to the hotel, but the hotel didn’t prepare anything, so we were a bit disappointed.

Everything

I I did not like the hotel policy. I have a membership in the Park Hyatt Hotel and I booked through Booking, and they did not add points to my membership. The reason is because I booked through the Booking website and not through the hotel website.
