Nice hotel in the middle of the Kiyomizu district, close by to gion and various other temples. Two train stations nearby for the keihan main line. The staff were nice, even offered me a towel when I arrived to wipe off sweat since it was quite hot outside. The locks in the building are automatic, so when you leave your room you don't have to lock it, which I thought was neat. You can also get access to the building after the staff leaves at 10pm.

The room I had was kind of tight for space for a suitcase. I had a large suitcase (total measurements were 160cm) and only really had space for it in one place. Unsure if other rooms are bigger.

Well kept property. It is located right in the center of Kyoto. Within walking distance to all attractions. The shower and the bathtub were phenomenal. Shower amenities were great as well. Reception was accomodating and helpful. I would stay here again if I’m back in Kyoto.

Rinn Kiyomizu Gion is a great hotel to base yourself for your days out and about in Kyoto. It is located within walking distance of not only the sights of Gion (including the old backstreets and lanes of what was old Kyoto and the main Geisha district) but is at the bottom of the street of both Sannenzaka (amazing narrow cobbled streets reminiscent of old Kyoto with lots of food and souvenirs) and the Kiyomizu-dera shrine complex (one of the most popular in Kyoto). The hotel is clean, contemporary and Japan-style-compact but with all of the amenities you want when travelling, especially a super comfy bed! Staff were friendly and super helpful. Highly recomended.

We had a wonderful stay at Rinn Kiyomizu Gion! The location is excellent, just a short walk from many of Kyoto's main attractions — perfect for exploring the city on foot. The hotel is very comfortable, with a cozy and modern decor that made us feel at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay — they even allowed us to leave our luggage on the last day, which was a big help. Free water, tea, and a variety of amenities are available, showing great attention to detail and guest comfort. A five-star experience we would definitely recommend!

This is a small hotel, but it’s cleverly designed to feel spacious and comfortable. It’s located right at the edge of Kyoto’s more touristy areas, offering the perfect balance of convenience and tranquility. You’re just a short walk away from the busy spots, but it’s peaceful enough to avoid the crowds. One tip for families: If you’re booking, try to opt for 2x twin rooms rather than a combination of twin and double rooms. The doubles are on the upper floors, while the twins are on lower levels. It wasn’t a big issue for us since our kids are older, but it’s worth noting depending on your needs. Overall, it was a fantastic hotel for us – a great base to explore Kyoto while enjoying some quiet downtime.

The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The room was modern and clean and they replaced the towels and removed the trash daily when we requested it. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were nice. There was a bath in our room, which was very nice (if you are near 6' tall, it's a bit small to fit in, but I imagine that's the same everywhere!). It is close to a few temples and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the river.

The location is good for the daytime but at night the street was loud on the weekend and there was shouting outside on the first evening that was so loud it frightened me awake. It was much quieter on a weekday evening though, so I'd recommend it still.

Very well located next to Gion corner and less than 10 min walk to the subway station that will take you directly to some of the main landmarks. While close to some of the more interesting neighborhoods of Kyoto, the hotel was located in a quiet street which made it all the more relaxing. Our room was spacious, comfortable and serene. The hotel helped us organize our luggage delivery to Tokyo which was highly convenient.

Not sure if it was because our room was on the ground floor, but our bathroom was extremely cold. (we went in february)

Fabulous place to stay in Gion. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, helped receive our luggage and send on to airport before we left, even proactively stopping us on the way past to check if we wanted to send and let us know deadlines. Location is about 15mins walk to attractions in Gion and main stations but we liked that it was away from the main tourist bustle. Nice and quiet. Nice bakeries and restaurants nearby. Room was comfortable, bigger than we had in Osaka.

Very calm environment. Modern and exceptionally clean. Was expecting a very small apartment but was pleasantly surprised to see a table and 2 chairs in the room. The nespresso coffee maker was a bonus and came with 2 complimentary pods. It was a shame that we were unable to buy any from local shops . I'm sure if we'd asked the staff would have provided extra. The TV has an Amazon firestick but all the directions were in Japanese. As it was we were generally too tired to watch TV on our return to the apartment at the end of the day. We stayed 5 nights. Should have stayed a week. So much to see and do in Kyoto. A good spot to base yourself, to see other parts of the Kansai region. Highly recommend!

compared to the other Rinns, this is on the simpler side. The onsen shown on pictures is only present in one of the rooms. The staff is kind and hospitable with good and honnest recommendations for Kyoto. Location puts you right in the middle between Gion and Nishiki area, walking distance to zkiyomizu too.

It has a nespresso machine, small and intimate. Reception has limited hours and no sistematic room cleaning, which is charged extra.
