A great place to stay in Kyoto. It is a 10-15 minute walk from everything you would want. There is a metro close by, a conbini, the Gion District. This place is hidden down a quiet alley. The house is adorable and really nice. It has everything you need and the futons were the best sleep we got our entire trip! The balcony upstairs was really charming and offered such a relaxing feel. One of the nights we walked down to the river that is one block over and had a little picnic. We picked this place because it has two toilets which was so nice when traveling with multiple people!! We would stay again! **You can't miss the pork katsu next door. It was the best pork we had our entire trip!

The only downside of this house are the stair are very steep and a little scary coming down, but by the end of our trip we got used to them and we found our own technique of conquering them each morning :)

We chose this house in Kyoto as we really wanted to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere and culture as much as possible, and we were tired of hotels. This house sits in a quiet and secluded alley in Kyoto's old town, Gion, which we thought would be swamped with people. However the house is so hidden from the main street, your stay will be very peaceful. We didn't hear much commotion even though we were so close to many restaurants and attractions. The house is very clean and surprisingly large for the central location. We had the option of tatami or western beds, as well as a tatami tea room and a western style dining room, so it's great if you aren't sure what you like. There is a Japanese style bath which we were very grateful for after our long days of exploring. The house is near many temples, many combini, and the metro line.

The location was perfect, close to everything we needed. The house was beautiful and comfortable. Washer/dryer very useful. Water pressure was great and all the hot water you needed. Waited out a typhoon one day so it was great having a house with all the amenities you needed. Highly recommend this place for families.

The place is small and dark. The walkway leading to bathroom is very narrow.
