1/ Next to JR train station, very convenient. 2/ Next to Kyoto Railway station (one of the biggest in Japan) just perfect for my kids. 3/Room is clean with new/modern interior, the best is pajamas in the room is so comfortable to wear. 4/ Complete facilities in hotel - coin laundry, ice cube machine, microwave, beverage vending machine, public bath and 24hr direct access to Family Mart 5/ Located in the park, very fresh morning to start the day, just do a brisk walk around the park If I can suggest to add coin exchanger near laundry place and provide water filter dispenser in the room, hence no need to provide bottle water. Also, increase the heat setting for the wash-dry machine that can ensure fully dry for less than 3kg load in 120 minutes.

1/ Not about the hotel, but taking train from station beside the botel can be very packed during busy hour as it is one station away from Kyoto Station (terminal station). 2/ Not many quick and easy foods surrounding the hotel, suggest if hotel reataurants can open for dinner (currently only breakfast and lunch)

The accommodation has been really nice, with access to the onsen/baths in the building, as well as overall very well maintained rooms and bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable and spacious. We were positively surprised by the interesting coffee pods available in the room :) The location has been amazing for us with metro station 3 mins walk away and convenience store below hotel. It is situated in a very central and nice location from which we explored Kyoto area by bus, metro, train and walking easily. From that perspective can only recommend it to everyone!

Originally we booked the room without the breakfast since we woke up early morning to travel to various places. On the last day we actually wanted to buy extra breakfast and eat locally, but to our surprise there was a queue rather than buffet style open all the time. We were not aware that one had to queue to attend it so I just want to highlight that there is limited breakfast spots space. For that morning we actually found an amazing alternative nearby called Cafe AUSGANG, which we can only recommend from the experience.

Just next to the JR Umekoji-nishi station, or a short 15min walk from JR Kyoto Station. Roads are almost flat so walking with suitcases and prams are a breeze. The local train from JR Kyoto station (1 stop) is not as frequent (about 20min interval) so walking was the best for us. Hotel is just next to the Kyoto Railway Museum and Kyoto Aquarium so if you're planning to visit these spots, this hotel is great! Also recommended for small kids because they had games at the lobby for the little ones.

If the room was a little more spacious, but not a problem for us as we only had 1 medium luggage. For travellers with more than 1 big luggage, might be a little short on luggage space.

This hotel was the best we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Japan. The room was spacious, seperate toilet, walk in shower,comfy large beds, full range of personal bathroom accessories, ice machine on every floor, laundry with live view on television for how many washing machines available and time remaining on each machine. Daily room service, including daily bottles of water, 3 minute walk to train station one stop away from Kyoto. The foyer was air conditioned (unlike some), and a convenience store based at the ground floor level. We were allowed to book in half an hour earlier (unlike some). An aquarium within 2 minute walk, train museum within 2 minute walk. We were able to catch the train on a direct line to the bamboo gardens.

No evening meals available at in house restaurant only breakfast and lunch, however there is a restaurant called botaniq kajiya only 2 minute walk from hotel, yummy and affordable, with beautiful garden views and a discount for hotel guests.

The hotel was very clean with lots of facilities and great staff. The rooms were a good size with 3 full beds. The pillows and mattresses were very comfortable. Block out blinds were amazing. There was a bath in our room with good amenities, like hair-dryer, hair products, toothbrushes etc. There was a mini fridge and kettle. We didn't eat breakfast, but the price seemed reasonable. The public onsen was lovely to relax tired muscles, but as custom dictates you need to be fully naked. There are separate mend and women's ones. There is a konbini downstairs that you can access from the hotel which is very convenient. It's a 2 min walk to a metro station which is one stop to Kyoto station. If you walk to Kyoto Station it's about a 15mins walk. There is a nice oval and playground nearby. I would stay at this chain of hotel again.

There didn't seem to be a great deal of restaurants or cafes nearby, but I do have specific dietary needs, so would stay in a different area next time just to be a little closer to those things.

Rooms were big and spacious. Good for my family of 4. The staff were very helpful. I had my bags forwarded to this hotel in advance and the bags were already waiting for us in our room. Excellent service! I had to send a bag onwards to my next destination and I had 4 people attending my one luggage. Another plus is that the hotel is right next to the commercial wholesale fish market. We got up before 5am to stumble towards the market to watch the fish auction live. There is a covered overpass from the Jr Station connecting to the fish market visitors centre. After auction you can have breakfast in one of the small soba shops nearby where the fisherman go for breakfast.

The location is a little bit out of the way. Not many food places around here.

Clean room, friendly staff, can speak english which made checkin very easy, and the spa is nice. The buffet was fairly priced, is delicious, and has a large range of tasty food. The new pancake machine is adorable. The bathroom was wonderful. I inquired about custom arrangements for my room - which were unavailable at the time of booking - and the checkin staff was able to offer them to me during checkin. Wonderful. The hotel is right beside the train museum, which is always wonderful to visit.

The aircon had a hiccup at one point, but I was able to call the front desk from the rooms phone and they remotely restarted the aircon, fixing the issue. Quick resolution.

My favorite hotel from our stay in Japan. The Royal Park had the best value by far. The hotel looks great, is clean and the staff are friendly. They have a bath that is open to customers and they allow people with tattoos to use. There’s a convenience store at the hotel with a Starbucks near by if you need something in the morning. If I come back to Kyoto, I would stay here again without question!

The train station is a 1 minute walk from the hotel, which is great! But it only runs about every 15-20 minutes. And most of the destinations you’ll want to reach in Kyoto will be from Kyoto station which is one stop away. It’s not a dealbreaker, by any means, but not as friendly as trains that come every 5 mins. If this train ran more often, it would be the perfect location.

I had a great stay at this hotel in Kyoto. The location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk from the train station, which made getting around the city really easy. There’s a Family Mart located right downstairs, which was perfect for grabbing snacks or a quick breakfast, and the hotel also has a coin laundry, which came in really handy during my trip. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a few nights’ stay. Just a heads-up: check-in isn’t until after 3:00 PM, but they’re happy to store your luggage if you arrive early, which was a nice touch. Overall, a solid choice for anyone visiting Kyoto, especially if you value location and convenience.

The bathroom and the shower being separate was a huge advantage over other hotels. The area was amazing. Being so close to the train museum, park, garden, and aquarium was great; really cut down on the fatigue. The ability to buy tickets from the staff was also very convenient. As an Americann I felt very comfortable and welcome for my first time stay in Kyoto. Will love to come back to this hotel on my next visit.

It may just be a personal preference for me influenced by my background, but the ventilation in the shower didn't seem like it was enough. I enjoy hot showers but would get light headed with the amount of steam that would accumulate.
