Honestly everything, the vegan dinner was also a mind blown experience and I'm not vegan, my partner is and I'm happy to share the experience with her, but it was wow. We were playing music loud and watching TV on a high volume and couldn't hear anything from the outside which is something rare to find in Japan, hotels here have thin walls unfortunately. Staff were very helpful with every request we asked for. I would definitely come back.
The bathroom was outdated and had an old look, it was clean though. The toilet door was also old and made noise when closing it. Sometimes we can hear electric noises outside or whatever it was, but that's all.

Beautifully designed boutique hotel in the heart of Kyoto. Loved the location as close enough to everything but didn't feel touristy, great neighbourhood. Room was well designed and spotless, non-alcoholic drinks included in the mini bar, great coffee and tea selection. Friendly staff (always quick and on it) and good breakfast. Had a very good night's rest.
it's a design hotel but it felt a little conservative and didn't have the it-factor. lobby and lounge a bit "cold and sterile" and not inviting enough to use. bathroom felt a bit dated.

Nice boutique hotel in a great location (right across imperial palace and within short walk of bus and JR stations), sbove average room size (executive suite), room design, cleanliness, breakfast as well as super friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom setup unfortunately doesn't match room design (looks more like a hospital bath), view from the room (depending on room to be fair - our suite #202 faced neighbouring walls, but not a big deal since we've been out all day), the intermittent generator noise was a bit of a nuisance and the owner should really consider relocating it, or at least switching it off during the night/early morning hours

Loved the location. We stayed six nights and the room size was very generous - which is what you’re after if staying longer. Staff were very attentive.
With windows covered with Shoji screens only, as soon as the sun rose you were wide awake with the light streaming in. But tight getting into bed one side - may be a bit squeezy for less mobile visitors.

Rooms are stunning, big surfaces, full facilities and amenities, extremely clean. The most comfortable bed (futon on tatami) we have ever had. The hotel is elegant and stylish, contemporary in traditional Japanese beautifulness. Best location in town. The terrace is the cherry on the cake offering an amazing view. Staff is very professional, kind, helpful, always smiling and offering the perfect customer care, perfectly English speaking. A true GEM in Kyoto and the perfect getaway to celebrate special journey!
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Great place to stay. Accommodations where exceptional and the staff is very helpful. We wanted to eat something special, and they gave an excellent recommendation. In our stay, the items in the fridge were all complimentary (even the beer).
Each room is different, so while our room was great... I wanted to try a room more like the one in the picture. But I have to admit, the space, cleanness, and living areas were wonderful.

This hotel was fantastic. There was a review that said this place was in the middle of nowhere “with nothing around it”. This hotel is literally across the street from the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Gardens, and surrounded by streets of bakeries and restaurants. It only took us about 15 minutes to get to the Gion district. The staff at this hotel were extremely helpful and sweet, and the room was beautiful and huge.
There was nothing we didn’t like! It was great.

Great concept, every room is unique and it has a whole feeling of luxury. Our room had a jacuzzi and a king size bed, with a lot of space, and some complimentary drinks and chocolate.
There was a constant noise coming from a heater or some kind of motor outside. Also the space was weirdly organized, a small toilet with a small sink in a huge empty bathroom. A big tv facing off the bed so you needed to sit in a very small bench to watch it.

Stylish design which could be described as quirky in a good location to explore that area of the city. Also a small hotel - which we like - which was quiet with very helpful staff. Very good breakfast in a nicely styled dining room.
Nothing to dislike but to be aware that it is about four or five subway stops from the main station in Kyoto (which is an attraction in itself). However, the immediate location around the hotel had good restaurants and shops and was a short walk to the Emperors Palace gardens and a similar distance to the attractive river that runs through the city.

Probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Japan for now. Extra spacious room, big bath with jacuzzi, unique design for each room, super comfy beds and pillows and great location.
The room was on the ground floor and it was noisy sometimes at night. The view out of the window might be better too.
