Spacious apartment. Great service

A quiet & luxurious 2 bedroom apartment in a middle class area of Kyoto. A pleasant 10 min walk to nearest subway station Karasuma-Oike, then only 3 subway stops to Kyoto station. Plenty of small local restaurants in nearby streets and several patisserie bakeries. There is also a Family Mart convenience store a 5 minute walk from this hotel. The apartment was very clean, the beds so soft and the pillows were like clouds. All the toiletries were deluxe, the shower was absolutely amazing and the kitchenette was equipped with a microwave, a Nespresso Coffee Pod machine and beautiful a Mikassa porcelain tea-set plus a fine selection of teabags. Cutlery and dinnerware also provided. The washing machine & dryer in a seperate laundry within our apartment were excellent.So good to be able to do all our washing and dry it also. The breakfasts are delivered to your apartment each morning at a time you chose between 7-9am. They are delicious and so beautifully presented ( see photos) The reception staff at Tomoya Residence Hotel are excellent. Very helpful, nothing is too difficult for them. They even helped me track down my wallet that was left in the backseat of a taxi. They called the taxi company for me and arranged for my wallet to be delivered back to me in person back at hotel. I was so thankful for their help🙂

Everything was perfect

Hotel is modern while staying cosy, plenty of space in the room (we were in the setup with a kind bedroom and two futons in a tatami room, a great shower, and Nespresso coffee maker. Location is convenient to metro (around 5-10 minute walk), generous breakfast delivered to the room every morning!

It’s a small detail. The daily breakfast delivered to the room can be Japanese or western style. We went with western style so it was coffee, tea, juice,milk. fresh fruit, yogurt, salad, egg (sometimes boiled, sometimes Quiche), preserves, butter, and bread rolls. The rolls are too often tough/dense, one day there were soft and fresh and that made a huge difference.

Hardworking staff. Very hospitable. As a family of 3, we had plenty of space and privacy, and generously sized closet. I was having difficult finding a restaurant reservation for dinner last minute... (I was a novice), and the staff contacted a nearby restaurant for me! The closest restaurant area is about 5 blocks south near the Ace Hotel (Pizza, Ramen, grilled chicken, lots of options). There is a metro line 8 minutes away that takes you straight to the Kyoto station.

Located on a quiet street but close to subway stops & easy access to shops, etc. Several restaurants & a cheese cake shop within 5 mins walking. The room had everything we needed & the configuration with a living area was very useful when travelling with a child. The front desk was exceptional - they called several restaurants to help us with reservations as many places were closed due to New Years. They even helped us to get to an ER when someone in our party fell sick. Really above & beyond hospitality.

This was a very beautiful hotel and we had a very enjoyable stay here for a few nights on our honeymoon. The staff from the moment we checked in made sure we were taken care of. They were always so friendly and accommodating. We were able to transfer our luggage to our next destination and they even printed out directions for us so we didn’t get lost. They even made sure we had umbrellas on a very wet day. They are an absolute asset to this hotel. Our room was probably the biggest we had of everywhere we stayed in Japan and it was great value for what we booked. We were very comfortable and the room came with everything we needed. It was lovely to be able to have a relaxing bath with the provided bath salts. We had robes, slippers and water provided in the room, as well as a nespresso machine. Location wise it’s about 15-20 mins walk to the centre of Kyoto. We thought we might make more use of the public transport but we ended up walking a lot to explore the lovely streets. It’s in a lovely quiet location and there are a few konbini just a few mins walk away. We enjoyed staying in this area and we would definitely recommend this hotel.

My family and I stayed here for five days. We had an amazing time. It has a great location; far enough away from the main attraction sites to provide peace and quiet, just a few blocks from major subway stop that gives you access to everything. I can remember three 7-11s within a five minute walk . Restaurants are everywhere, including a small hidden Ramen place right across the street. The staff were terrific and very welcoming. English-speaking only was not a problem at all. I highly recommend the breakfast and for those more adventurous the Japanese style breakfast was terrific.

We stayed at this hotel with our 4 month old baby and we had a very comfortable stay! The staff were welcoming and very helpful. They helped us secure dinner reservations every night and helped us plan our Kyoto itinerary. The box of boutique matcha biscuits on arrival were a thoughtful touch too! The rooms are exceptional. Clean, spacious and fully equipped. The perfect mid-trip stay to help us reset and do many loads of laundry too. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here in this apartment-style hotel.

The reception staff who were so helpful with everything including luggage transfers. Our apartment was very clean and well equipped stylish. It had absolutely everything you could want. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment even though we were only one couple. The second bedroom is a small tatami room. The espresso machine and the incredible bathroom (3 rooms - dounle basins, shower and bath room and very flash toilet. The fact you could open the windows. so much space and storage.

This is a very small boutique hotel that is run by a private owner. The concept is a home away from home, and it totally delivers on that promise. We were treated to personalised service, a very spacious, well equipped and well maintained apartment that you could describe as a sort of hybrid between modern and a more traditional ryokan style, a beautiful breakfast served in our apartment every morning and a quiet, charming location. The staff were so helpful and very kind to us.
