The room and facilities were very clean, and I especially appreciated the laundry machines—they were well-maintained and extremely useful. The location was perfect: just a 2-minute walk to the subway station and about 10 minutes to the center of the Karasuma area.

The room was a bit small, which is quite typical for hotels in Japan. If two people are staying with their luggage, they might need to be a bit creative with space management.

The hotel is very close to a metro station that has a good connection to surrounding stations. It's also very close to the main shopping district Nakanocho. The staff was friendly, the room and bathroom were comfortable and clean, and there was even free coffee in the lobby.

The only downside was pretty much out of the hotel's hands as there was construction going next door. However, with the window closed, the sounds weren't too bad.

The single room is spacious enough and the deep bath is a nice luxury. Proximity to covered market streets filled with shops and restaurants is probably the best feature of the hotel. Front desk staff were super helpful recommending places to eat. And though a chain hotel, the breakfast buffet had a home cooked feel to it, with lots of healthy as well as western options, and the lady who greeted me each morning was so genki!

For a lesser cost, there are much more interesting accommodation elsewhere in the city. Unless here on business or you need easy subway connections, I recommend especially foreign tourists to check out something more traditional to the east of the Kamo river.

The location of the hotel is nice, around 6-8 minutes walk to the lift to subway. Around 8-10 minutes walk to convenience stores. It is a modern-designed Hotel. Comfy but not very spacious. However, we can still open two 24 inches suitcases at the same time by blocking the passway. The room is clean and you can take the amenities from the lobby at anytime. Free coffee and tea are provided at the lobby. Coin laundry is located at the ground floor. You can also dry the clothes there.

We were a little bit confused during the check-in time. And this is caused by booking.com! We were told that we had booked two twin-bed rooms with only one person in each room! But there are four of us. So we have to pay 2000yen per person per day to fulfill the hotel policy. Booking.com is confusing!!! We appreciate the hotel staff for the patience to explain this situation to us. Anyway, this hotel is still nice for travelling in Kyoto.

The room is super clean with comfortable bed/pillow and many amenities (I especially like the baht balls for hot soak in the half-bath tub). The massage chair and foot massage box in the queen double room was great to use after a long day of walking. Staff was very courteous and helpful. We stayed three days and all of us enjoyed the breakfast buffet, eventhough it does not vary too much each day but there were local dishes/soups/ to be tasted. Location was good too.

Nothing really. Everything was upto expectation. My friend in the twin room thought there was not much space to open up their two luggages but loved everything else.

Everything was great!! Nothing bad to say!! If I have a chance to travel in Kyoto again, I will definitely choose this hotel!!

Quiet, clean, good sized rooms, within metres walk to Karasuma Oike station. Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast has a variety of Japanese and Western style choices. Great restaurants close by, as well as 7/11, Familymart , and Lawsons. 15 min walk to the amazing Teramachi shopping district, 20 min walk to Gion. Close to Nijo temple and the Imperial Gardens. A definite gem of an accommodation.

Great hotel very near to metrostation Oika Karasuma. Nice big room with comfortable beds and everything you will need. Every day there is cleaning and tea and water provided. The breakfast was nice and fresh with traditional japaneese dishes.

There was no toilet brush in the toilet. A bigger variety of breakfest options (more vegetables and fruits) would be nice.

This is a great hotel & fantastic value for money in Kyoto. The location wasn't a far walk from the tourist areas, there is also a metro stop very close by. The area of the hotel is lovely, it's quiet & has some great local restaurants surrounding it. It felt like a very safe area. Breakfast buffet had a huge selection from Japanese & Western breakfast choices. Very clean. Comfortable beds. If you don't want your room cleaned in the day they still provide fresh towels, pyjamas & water outside the room. Coin laundry room available which includes the detergent & tumble dryers. We has a late bus onto our next destination and the hotel happily looked after our bags during the day & let us sit in the lobby until we had to go. Staff were very helpful & friendly. We will stay here again when we next visit Kyoto.

The hotel was very clean with a great choice of amenities and an amazing breakfast. The value for money was unbeatable. The staff were all friendly, there's a subway station less than a minute's walk away, and you can reach a lot of attractions by foot if you don't mind a pleasant 20-45min walk.

The bath tub only allows water to reach a certain level before it starts draining, so I couldn't have as deep a bath as I'd like, and the pillows dissolved into nothing when you put your head on them, but this place was otherwise incredible.
