This place was an absolute joy. We booked a Corner room and it was huge by Japan standards. Bathroom had a large soaking tub and a wet room shower. Views from these corner rooms are great, oh and it had a balcony that wrapped the entire length of the room. The lounge on the 2nd floor was great with free alcohol and delicious desserts.

Nothing. The location is great, the rooms were clean, felt like great value for the money. Hotel is about 100 yards from a subway station so easy access to public transportation and only a few stops from Kyoto Station if you need to hop on the Shinkansen to Tokyo. Highly recommend this property.

The hotel was in a great location for exploring Kyoto with lots to see and do within walking distance. The metro was a few metres from the hotel and bus stops close by for those attractions a bit further away. Breakfast in the hotel was good, eggs cooked to your liking and a decent buffet to set us up for the day. The evening drinks and snacks in the lounge were an added bonus and very welcome at the end of a busy day where it was great to sit and watch the world go by. Kyoto itself was a great base for exploring a little further afield such as Nara and Osaka. The hotel staff were great and we were always met with a smile and friendly greeting from everyone. Our room was a great size, very comfortable bed and good amenities provided including an iron & ironing board.

I loved this hotel and I was so sad to leave! No other hotel which claimed to be the same caliber and quality stood up to this hotel. The room was huge, the facilities nice and updated. I was grateful for both the iron and ironing board. I do wish they had more than two washer dryers. The snacks were a bit disappointing and very small. I wish the snack coffee machine was also available during the breakfast buffet. Those are pretty much the only issues I had with the hotel. It was directly next to a subway line, a 7 11 and a lawsons. I wish i had been able to find the equivalent of this hotel in Tokyo and Osaka.

Lovely hotel in a good location, lounge access was a real bonus - with afternoon tea and a nice place for a drink before dinner. Fabulous shower and toiletries, good sized room - corner twin suite with an extra bed (we were travelling with our son) great room with a balcony and a good size.

no fitness room, the reception area doesn't feel like 5 star, the bar is really like a lobby / waiting area and not a specific bar area. None of these things had an impact on our stay and I would stay here again. we liked it so much = we cancelled our hotel in Osaka and booked The Royal Park Hotel Iconic there also

Staff was very kind and respectful. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable! More so than the known 5 star hotels. The lounge is a very cosy area that increases the quality of the experience overall. The toiletry box is very very complete, great addition! The tube is super close to the hotel, regardless it’s all still walkable to more central areas and close enough to Kyoto station.

Breakfast buffet is very poor, the bread is plasticky, jams butters etc all packaged and there aren’t any fresh produce; variety of ham and cheese and warm meals very limited. The interior design such as carpet flooring, the curtains, bed decor, plastic cups, sink area etc is outdated which doesn’t add up with the rest of the ‘luxury and comfort’ experience of the hotel. There is no storage space: a very small hanger area but for people staying 4-5 days there is no space to unpack sadly.

The staff was truly excellent and the room sizes were great especially for Japan. The location was perfect as we were able to walk or take the subway everywhere we needed to go. Over the course of the trip we remarked multiple times how much we enjoyed the location. I'm actually a Platinum Elite with Marriott but chose this hotel for the Kyoto part of our trip and would stay here again if given the opportunity. They also have a great second story lounge with complimentary snacks and drinks daily. It is well appointed with an indoor fireplace and windows overlooking the street that was a great place to cool down each day.

The mattress was a little firm for my taste but different folks will have different preferences here.

I was traveling with my 3yo toddler and we really liked this accommodation as it was closely located to the subway and bus stop that can connect you to other parts of Kyoto. The neighbourhood it was in was also very quiet and there was a family mart across the road, so I was able to purchase snacks. The staff are very friendly, and they were also engaging with my son and we loved the extra bonus that came with our stay such as the afternoon tea at the lounge and the range of teas and snacks available for guests. We also used the washing machine facilities which were easy to use. The rooms were also quiet and cosy.

The hotel overall and the customer service we experienced were excellent. Rooms were magnificent - comfortable, clean, modern, with luxury toiletries. The photos of the accommodation online are true and live up to expectations. The housekeeping was first class, paying attention to all the little details, being considerate with our belongings and being polite and accommodating. Every interaction with hotel staff was positive, and the buffet breakfast was also good.

The hotel is on a busy road, so there was some traffic noise at night - earplugs can come in handy, but this did not detract from the overall experience we had at this hotel.

Location: The Location of the Hotel is very central, right next to a subway Station. Getting to and from the Hotel is very easy. All the sightseeing-Attractions can be reached easily by subway/ JR-Line or foot, even Kyoto Station is only 20 minutes away by foot. Hotel: The Hotel had a welcoming atmosphere, the lobby was clean and open, which i liked. The Lounge Room was really great, with a nice tea time in the afternoon and lovely cakes and a Self-Service Cocktail Bar in the evening. This service was complementary and a really nice bonus to out stay, as we did not expect it. The snacks in the evening were very delicious and carefully selected. The ambiance in the lounge was relaxing, it was calm and soft music was playing. A great bonus was also the onsen, it was very clean and the water had a perfect temperature. After a long day of walking i can only recommend it. Room: Our room had a kingsize bed and floor length windows, which made the room nice and bright. The room itself had a very good size, the bathroom was stylish and clean. The TV offered Youtube, Netflix and many more which made the entertainment in the room easy. The bed was comfortable and the sheets can be changed daily. Amenities: From Shampoo to Toothpaste there were all the amenities offered. Service: The staff was very friendly, kind and helpful. Every interaction was professional and everything was explained well. I am very happy with the service we received. Breakfast: Our booking included the breakfast and i really enjoyed the offered omelette, which the staff prepares for you freshly and brings it to the table. It was delicious. The buffet had a selection of western style breakfast foods that i personally liked. Overall: I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Kyoto. I am very pleased with the experience.
