Comfortable and well-located hotel! The Park Hotel Kyoto offers spacious rooms and great facilities, making our stay very enjoyable. The room and bathroom were spotless, and we appreciated the comfortable ambiance. The staff was super nice. The hotel features a bar and restaurant in the lobby, where you can also have lunch or dinner if you wish. The location is excellent, near a metro station, in a calm yet central area—perfect for exploring Kyoto while still enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. We also made use of the gym, which was well-equipped and great for a workout. While they didn’t have a treadmill, they did offer biking and other exercise options. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend it!

One morning, at 7am the fire alarm unexpectedly went off. It turned out that a guest had activated it by mistake. Although we didn’t fully understand the situation at first, the staff was helpful and handled the incident well

The daytime staff was very helpful with directions. Traveling around from the hotel by subway was good. The hotel is in a good area for sightseeing, ancient castle, temples, nishi-market, bamboo forest and Gion district.

The taxi driver had trouble finding the hotel which was a lot further from the JR line Kyoto than we expected. We got in late and the evening staff were not very service-minded. Room was much smaller than expected. We ate some tasteless ramen at the restaurant.

Central to everything within 25 mins walking or Subway 3 mins away, 15 mins walking to Nishiki Market, 10 mins to Nijo Castle. The best Korean BBQ cook at table nearby, small grocery very close, Lawsons and 7-11 close by. The staff, the facility, the room, the view, the recommendations for my Geisha Make over, ALL Superb. Staff speak very good English. They offer breakfast buffet, nice lunch, dinner and a wonderful bar. Highly recommend. I will stay here again. The price booked through my Genius level 3 for 4 nights was incredible.

I have stayed several times here and was never disappointed. Clean room and bathroom, comfy bed, well accessible by public transport, good service and central location 2 min from the Karasuma (North-South) and Tozai (East-West) subway lines, surrounded by eating and 7/11 options and a comfortable 15 minute-walk each to Nijo-jo, Sanjo shopping street, Zest mall, or Teramachi.

I could handle stepping into the bath tub to having showers without problems, but other people might have problems. The bar and breakfast rooms on the first floor look nice, but were only a little too expensive for my budget, but there are plenty of breakfast options in 10-minute distance on foot. And the fact that the city of Kyoto charges 200 yen/day as a tax that is demanded at check-in.

I absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The interior of the lobby is stunning, with a modern yet cozy design that immediately makes you feel welcome. Our bedroom was spacious, well-appointed, and provided plenty of room for our family to relax comfortably. What truly stood out was the thoughtful provision of a baby crib, which was a lifesaver for us traveling with our 4-month-old baby. It’s rare to find a hotel that is so accommodating to families with infants, and we truly appreciated it. The staff was warm and attentive, ensuring all our needs were met, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for a family getaway. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stylish, comfortable, and family-friendly place to stay!

Beautiful lobby/bar entry on lower level. Love the aesthetic and architecture. Great location. Walking distance to a ton of great restaurants and shopping. Excellent value if you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room.

Rooms are very small for two people. If you have lots of luggage, there isn't a way to organize efficiently. The water temp in the shower would fluctuate and never got quite hot enough--but passable.

Lovely property just off the beaten path. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Rooms are small (as anticipated) but were quiet; beds were comfortable and climate control was good. The shower was a good size and had great water pressure. Of course, the toilets were amazing. There's a small refrigerator, and you can find a community microwave on floor 2 where the laundry machines are (they're top loaders and they work great). The reception area on the main floor has several seating areas which are lovely for hanging out in. The metro is a 3-minute walk away (there's a Starbucks down there before the pay gates). In the other direction you can walk to Nijō Castle. There's also a place nearby to rent bikes.

There's nothing to dislike per se. We didn't do the breakfast at the hotel and found it a bit challenging to find nearby cafes that opened early and served Western breakfast items, but this was a personal choice and it wasn't a dealbreaker. There are some lovely local bakeries with coffee, and you can buy yogurt, etc. from the Family Mart or Fresco nearby.

We stayed in many hotels during our time in Japan and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in. The price was an amazing deal for what we got. The beds and pillows were so comfy and the room was more spacious than our other hotels. The room was clean and they did a great job cleaning each day. The location was also wonderful. We were located in a quieter part of the city but had easy access to everywhere we wanted to visit. The hotel is about a 3 minute walk to access the trains. So happy with this hotel and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto.

We booked the deluxe twin room and we loved it. Such a cute room with plenty of space for two large suitcases. Bathroom was fab also with plenty of space again and a great shower. Restaurant and bar area were lovely and staff were great. Super close to the nearest metro station and bus stop right outside the door. We loved the general quiet area of this hotel aswel. Would definitely stay again.

Restaurant downstairs doesn't have a big menu but the dishes we did eat there were lovely. Breakfast was also on the minimal side. Set breakfast of egg, salad and bacon/sausage with small portions and a few other little bits to choose from. Personally we'd have preferred something heartier first thing in the morning to set up for a long day of exploring.

1) Location of the property was excellent - so easy to reach from subway and buses and so close to some of the best Kyoto attractions like Nijo Castle 2) Well maintained and very good common facilities - lounge / reception / full service restaurant / washing and cooking facilities / the rooms were bright and well appointed

The facilities to keep the suitcases and hang clothes could be better - slightly more space in the room - more intelligent use of the space in room - shower and toilet could have had separate entrances - could be used by two people simultaneously - beds were at very low height - difficult to get out from for older people
