Beautiful modern and clean hotel. The room was spectacular, very spacious, bright and comfy. One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in while in Japan. The staff are very friendly and accompanied us outside to our taxi when leaving to ensure our booking went smoothly. We really appreciated this. Hotel is a 20 min approx walk to central area where all restaurants and bars are located (pontocho alley). We opted for a 5 minute taxi from the train station to the hotel but you could easily get a bus. Family Mart shop is a less than 1 minute walk from the hotel.

No common areas except the lobby - I didn't like to be served breakfast in the room (although breakfast itself was delicious), would have preferred a seated area where breakfast could be taken. In terms of location, there's 7eleven, and a couple of restaurants close to the hotel (and an amazing coffee shop in the same building with the best coffee we had in Japan), but to the central areas, shops etc its at least a 15-20 min walk - with a child, I would have preferred to be a little closer.

I loved how clean everything was. The rooms were very large which was a huge plus especially since i was traveling with a decent amount of luggage. Didnt once feel crammed. The price for the 6 night i stayed there was incredible. The location was great close to convenience stores. Theres a luup scooter parking spot right outside the hotel which makes traveling locally for tourists super easy. The hotel is small and doesnt have floors on floors with a ton of rooms. There maybe 6 rooms per floor and maybe 3 floors. It felt like it was a private hotel just for us. No one loitering the halls or lobbies. Staff was more than accommodating helping us with baggage, heating up food, cleaning the rooms immediately and making sure everything was stocked. The hotel is completely non smoking which I loved as well. Always greeting us as we came and left the property. If you are looking for a place to stay in kyoto THIS IS THE PLACE! You get more than what you are paying for so worth it!

The property is completely non smoking which i loved as i have health issues that can be triggered by cigarette smoke. I did notice our floor/ room smelling of cigarette smoke like someone was actively smoking multiple times during my stay. One complaint to the front desk and it was handled immediately.

I enjoyed my stay at your hotel in Kyoto. I appreciated having two types of breakfast options to choose from—Japanese and Western. The breakfasts were delicious, with plenty of variety, and never repetitive, which was a wonderful touch. The location was also very convenient. It was close to public transport, with the metro station and a shopping street just a 10-15 minute walk away. At the same time, the area was quiet and peaceful, which made it a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The room was spacious and well-suited for families. I especially appreciated the large desk, which made it easy to do some work during my stay. I’d also like to compliment the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made my experience even better. I would happily stay at this hotel again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Kyoto, especially families.

I found everything about my stay to be excellent, and I truly enjoyed my time at the hotel. If I had to mention one small observation, it would be that, as a solo traveler, I didn’t need two beds in my room. However, I understand this setup might be perfect for families or groups, so it’s not a drawback—just a personal note. Overall, the room was spacious and very comfortable, and I truly appreciated all the thoughtful amenities provided.

The hotel is well located, with several tourist attractions within walking distance. There are also subway and bus stations nearby. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Situated on a quiet street with minimal traffic, you'll find restaurants and convenience stores on the adjacent streets. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

You will need to reserve breakfast by mid-afternoon the day prior. If you don't anticipate like us, you’ll need to explore other options. However, the staff is very friendly and can recommend nearby places within walking distance where you can grab breakfast.

The room was quite big (minimum twice as big as in other hotels we stayed at during our trip, though other hotels were cheaper the next one was at 110 eur/night), clean and quiet at night (though the whole area except a couple of big roads is quiet). We especially liked the welcoming message and origami. Stuff was very polite and welcoming. We liked the location, there are a lot of restaurants nearby and it's not far from the metro station. You can easily take a walk to the Nijo Castle and the National Garden. Nothing to look at from the windows, unfortunately, but we didn't have time to do that anyway

Especially for the price that I paid, which seem to be well discounted, it was above expectations. I actually extended my stay and moved to another room. First I stayed 2 nights at a superior twin and then moved for another 2 nights to a deluxe twin. All rooms here seem to be well above the average size for hotel rooms Japan. The deluxe room is bigger, has a more modern looking sofa, an air humidifier×air filter (which they should clean actually) and for some reason even though it has the same AC unit and needed to heat a bigger room it seemed to do a much better job, but it was actually slightly less clean and I liked the layout of the superior twin room better. The AC unit in the superior room seemed to have a tough time heating up the room but I asked the reception staff and they had a dyson heater×air which together with the AC unit did a great job. The towels are amazingly soft and the shower soaps were much better than the average I've experienced in Japan. The location was also fairly convenient for public transportation - bus and subway stations, nijo castle, Kyoto Sanjo shopping street (shotengai) or even the main street that goes all the way to Yasaka Shrine if you're ok with a bit of a walk.

We booked this hotel last minute as we extended our stay in Kyoto and we were so happy that we did! This hotel is very stylish with a welcoming lobby area and the staff were excellent. They helped us organise the shipping of our luggage back to Tokyo which was really nice. As for the room itself, we were blown away! The room we had was easily double the size of any hotel we’d stayed in in Japan so far which felt like such a luxury! The beds were really comfortable and there was a nice sitting area as well as a large bath/shower wet room and separate toilet. There were really nice amenities in the bathroom and even a Nespresso coffee machine in the room with complementary water each day. The hotel was in a great location in the centre of Kyoto, so not too far from transport links and tourist attractions. I would also strongly recommend visiting the cafe underneath the hotel called “Here”. They do absolutely delicious coffee as well as brunch including french toast and ice cream which was unreal. The baristas were also some of the nicest people we met in Kyoto so it’s a great place to start your day. I wish we could have stayed at this hotel for even longer!

Breakfast was served in our room. We took the Japanese version and it was delicious, plentiful and beautiful in presentation. I had read the reviews that said to put the trays outside the room if not getting your room cleaned. The room was large, well laid out, with a separate toilet room with sink and beautiful art painted on the walls. There were some very good restaurants nearby. A Yakatori restaurant that you need to reserve due to popularity, a Spanish restaurant and a cute little bakery style breakfast/lunch place.

Our only complaint was a bright motion sensor light near the bathroom that went on when using the bathroom at night! It was bright enough to wake up the other person in the room. A small night light in the bathroom would work much better!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! The hotel is brand new and the amenities are of top quality. One can tell straight away they have put into a lot of thoughts into details, from the choice of the basin to the wallpaper. All of these combined gives you a luxurious feel! The room is really spacious, and the window can be opened for fresh air! This is quite important personally. The staff were amazing. They definitely care about the feeling of each single customer.

It’s perfect in terms of the room and the staff. But if you compare with a western style 4 star hotel, you might expect a swimming pool/sauna or a larger lobby. But this is quite uncommon in Japan.
