Authentic Japanese hospitality. Clean , good amenities, western beds were very comfy! We enjoyed the onsen and the massage couch. Staff very hospitable. We had a Japanese dinner on request, it was very traditional, but far too much in quantity. That made us feel bad thinking that so much good food is wasted .

The room with Tatami futon - sleep was not comfortable.

Absolutely loved our stay at Izumiso! We opted for no dinner and the staff gave us a map of their recommendations around the area, all within walking distance. The onsen was beautiful and relaxing

It is a little further out from central Matsumoto and the buses aren't super punctual. However that is the charm of the countryside.

This is the best experience we had in Japan. The service, the smiles and the staff were amazing. The room is magnificent and the food is something to remember and tell about back home. Do yourself a favour and don’t miss this place.

The stuff was perfect and very kind. They send me a letter about the evening event on the street and the time when the street will be closed. It helped a lot

The traditional futon was hard and not comfortable to sleep. The room cost y without breakfast is very expensive

Nice modern ryokan that appears nicely renovated. Onsen was large with dry sauna, cold bath and large indoor bath. Also had rock lined outdoor bath. Kaiseki dinner and breakfast was in private room for all guests.

Great value for the money. Nice room and nice Onsen. The staffs did not know any English, but they are patient and friendly to use translator with us and recommended some nice restaurants nearby for dinner.

The staff was very kind and the food was delicious. They accommodated our dietary restrictions on short notice perfectly.

The spa and common areas of the facility is a little outdated.
