Good location a few minutes walk and a few minutes from the castle. The decor was a little faded (70s/80s) but this was of no concern to us. We were actually allowed to book in ahead of time, which was very useful as our train from Tokyo arrived at around noon and we wanted to visit the castle. The staff were friendly and efficient, although English (and my Japanese) was limited we managed to get all we needed done. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. Breakfast was included which was handy as we needed to be away the next morning.

No real prob;lems from our point of view. As mentioned the decor was a little dated but I personally found this to be of little consequence. I loved the breakfast because it was very Japanese, but my kids left some of it as it wasn't to their taste - I told them 'tough, you're in Japan'!

The hotel is close to matsumoto station and not that far from the castle. The staffs were really helpful towards us
