We observed that reservations are not taken in advance, and guests are required to signup and wait upon arrival at the dining area. With the utmost respect, might we suggest exploring the possibility of implementing an advance reservation system for breakfast? Alternatively, providing guests with clearer information upon check-in regarding the registration process and potential wait times during peak hours could also be very helpful in managing expectations and enhancing the overall dining experience. This is simply offered as a point for consideration.

Location is convenient. It is right next to Matsuyama castle park, across the street from the Nishihoribata Iyoten tram stop, about 10 minutes from the JR train station and the Matsuyama city station. Rooms are clean and comfortable, although the decor seems a bit dated. There is a coin laundry with separate washer and dryer, so doing a load of laundry is efficient. Staff are courteous and helpful and there is some English language support, too. There is parking at a garage near the hotel, and costs a bout 1000 yen per day for hotel guests (or 200 yen per hour). We had a room with a lovely view of Matsuyama castle.

Decor could have been updated, but this is a very minor issue. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

MyStays was really easy to walk to from the JR station. We got there just before 2pm and were able to check in straight away. It’s a tall building and signs are easy to see. On enquiring, I was told that our room would not have a castle view but we were changed to a lower room with castle view when I asked if possible. It was distant but nice! Having checked in so early and freshened up, we had the afternoon to explore and eat out. The hotel’s location is good for access to both station areas and to the castle grounds. Tram stops are very close too. Easy to figure out transport options. The staff were very helpful. On request, a taxi was ordered for us for checkout morning so we could travel to the port for a ferry to Kure / Hiroshima. We liked that the window in the room opened so we could let some outside air in. And there were some charging leads for devices in one of the drawers.

The air was a bit stale, like an ex smoking room. But everything was clean. The beds were harder than most others in Japan!

Hotel is located in a great place and view from high floors is amazing. Breakfast is also really nice, and they also provide local dishes during breakfast. Room is convenient and clean, bathroom is big enough. Air conditioner is quite and warm pretty well I really like my experience, and want to stay there next time in Matsuyama

I think the hotel costs its price. However, breakfast time is pretty earlier and I expected line several times - waited for a place to seat. Cleaning was really good, but at my last day the mirror was cleaned in some strange way with lots of line on it. Due to air conditioner the dust problem is pretty significant, and I could feel it during my stay - I’m allergic to it, so maybe it’s not that noticeable. Also sound isolation could be a little bit better

Nice hotel. The view of the park and Matsuyama Castle without obstruction is great. The size of the comfort room is ok for a couple. It is a bit of a walk from the JR Matsuyama Station, but there's a tram stop 2 minutes from the hotel. While the hotel has a restaurant, there aren't many other restaurants and coffee shops around the hotel. Though there's a family mart convenient store across the street from the hotel.

Good location - can walk to the castle and there are bus stops nearby to get to Dogo Onsen and other areas of interest. They do have parking but not for the faint hearted - very tight space. There are a couple of public car parks at the back of the hotel which are pretty much the same price as the hotel’s parking and much easier to use. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was good.

Great location. Central but still close to the station. We had a room with view of the castle which was amazing both day and night. The rooms with this view cost a little more but it is well worth the expense in our opinion. The room was a good size and there was still room to move around even when the sofa was turned into a bed for our child. We only stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. Probably the most comfortable beds of our holiday in Japan.

Other guests have commented on the rooms being dated and they do have a point. But the carpet and the wallpaper are clean and new, the bathroom is spotless. It's just the furniture which, although high quality, is not very trendy anymore and maybe a bit worn here and there. Upgrading a hotel that way is very expensive and probably not very environmentally friendly. In our opinion it is definitely not a reason to not stay in this hotel,

Easy to find, within walking distance of Matsuyama JR Station. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Room was quiet despite being next to road. Delicious Japanese style breakfast with some international food options. Polite and kind staff (as everywhere in Japan). We enjoyed the location - there is a great local restaurant just one minute walk, the best craft beer pub in Matsuyama just across the road, both railway stations within 10 minutes walk, a lovely coffee roaster is hidden nearby in side street, post office is also very close. Tram takes you to touristy areas in less than 15 minutes.

We stayed for 4 nights and the breakfast was identical every morning. It would be great if there was some variety over the week, i.e. replace mackerel with salmon one day, introduce different side dish each day etc. We got pretty bored of it after 2 days even though we enjoyed the taste.

Staff were lovely, room was dated but clean and comfortable. Bed was hard but fine. Good location near to main station and park, we had a great view of the castle. If you're looking for a cheap cocktail, the downstairs restaurant will suit you.

Restaurant downstairs wasn't the best - westernised and reasonable prices but small meals - recommend you go to a local ramen place for better value and experience.

Room was a very good size, larger than all the other places we stayed in. Centrally located, close to sights, transport and nightlife. Superb view of castle and downtown. Slightly old-school vibe, but in a good way. Breakfast was good, with both local and Western options. Great value for money, especially compared to bigger cities in Japan,

Even though we were in a non-smoking floor, there was a slight smell of fags in the lifts and the hallways.
