This was the first time I had visited Matsuyama. One of the reasons I enjoy Japan is the level of service that I experience everywhere. I was so tired from my travels. I was greeted by a trainee and she was so gracious. She spoke English and got me checked in so quickly. My room was so lovely. It looked out over the park across the street. the area was relatively quiet but a bit busy with traffic. The room was small but comfortably appointed. I liked the fact that I could open the window as I tend to keep warm. I slept like a baby. I needed a place to relax and just unwind - disconnect. I was able to find a grocery strore that was 5 minutes away. I got everything I needed and even an umbrella for the rain.

I did notice that the bathroom had mold - I think this is just from the hotel itself as it is an older property and the area is a wet space. I do think they could do with a very deep clean of the bathrooms just as protection against mold and possible health issues. But overall it was a clean as it could be for it's age. It is certainly time for the property to update the bathrooms and carpets in the rooms.

The APA Hotel in Matsuyama is really close to the castle & we had an amazing view of it from our hotel window. We liked that we could open the window for fresh air; there were a lot of sirens but we got used to the noise. The staff were so helpful, especially with ordering a pizza, as we speak little Japanese. The translator app is very useful!! There's a 7/11 shop & family mart very close by to the hotel. The room was small - 16sq meters but we were able to put our suitcases against the wall & use the drawers/ cupboard. We walked to the food court/ shopping mall through the park which was very pleasant & refreshing. Breakfast was included & really good.

You have to have the power on to run the fridge - room card in the switch.

It a little far from the station when you carry your suitcases. It was a little tricky to figure out the main entrance so we walked in from the parking lot, but when you know where the entrance is, it is very easy to navigate (we arrived at night time). Without suitcases it doesn't feel like that long of a walk! It is right next to convenience stores and the Matsuyama castle so if you have the time it is easy to go for a walk.

Nothing in particular. I wish the staff would have talked Japanese to us when we spoke Japanese to them though. But this is just a minor detail.

We were pleased to find all the usual business hotel facilities close enough to public transport to walk to both bus and train. There was a good supermarket nearby and the Castle is an easy walk as well. The microwave on the second floor was handy. There was a washing machine & drier there as well. Both looked clean and well cared for. We found the bathroom, the usual model for business hotels, to be OK but wondered how anyone with reduced mobility would cope with the step up.

The location was very nice. The staff are nice and friendly. The domestic staff were so lovely and helpful. Beds comfy. After 9 months of travelling Asia I needed a break for a week and doing very little, relax in peace. It was perfect.

Am iron would have been useful as casting a rucksack things tend to need a pressing but I went and bought one for the week.

Well located hotel with walking distance to the Matasuyama Castle. Being a foreigner you get to go on the Ferris wheel for free and it with the shops are all walking distance from the hotel. For people that don't want to walk that much, there is street cars (trams) a short distance from the hotel. The room was as expected from APA. Very clean and quite with the added bonus of free movies to watch. Also the WiFi was quicker than what I get back home.

With my bookings I do a lot of research and pre-planing so it's not luck that I stayed at great hotels for my budget. my expectations are always bettered by the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms.

The hotel was quiet and comfortable. It is about 15 mins walk from the JR Matsuyama station. At about 5 minute walk from the hotel, there's a tram station, which takes you to Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen, etc.

The hotel was a bit far from the JR train station to walk carrying luggage. During the weekends, the tram line does not go through the road where the hotel is located. The hotel itself was fine.

The room itself was super comfortable and nice. I really appreciated the spacious bathtub. The room felt fresh and the TV provided a lot of useful information.

Albeit nitpicking i would have appreciated being able to open the window more.

The hotel is an excellent location, super close to the Matsuyama Station (about 15-16 min walk). The hotel staff were kind and helpful and the room was really spacious and comfortable. The pillows were super comfortable and the WiFi was quite fast as well.

The Air Conditioner in the room was quite warn. I wish I could lower it as I prefer slightly colder temperature. But it wasn't a big issue. I suppose if I told the hotel staff they could do something about it but I am not sure.

Stayed in APA in Tokyo before, the room was tiny. In comparison the Matsuyama one was very spacious and comfortable. First-class stay for the price and location. Walkable to the Matsuyama castle and public transportation.
