I booked this place as a surprise for my husband, and we were both so happy I did! We learned that the concept of Dormy Inn is "a business hotel you could live in"... and true to their word, everything is geared towards convenience and comfort: from easy check in, to massage chairs and a wonderful indoor-outdoor onsen, to late night noodles and ice cream, to a manga library and lounge, on- site laundry, and...oh my God, that breakfast!! A buffet of local delicacies, served by a cheerful team of hardworking chefs. 👩‍🍳 👩‍🍳 👩‍🍳 We liked our experience so much that we changed our plans for the next night and booked Dormy Inn in Hiroshima, as well! Huzzah! Thank you, Dormy Inn Matsuyama!

Buyer beware: the double bed is very small for two people and the pillow flat and hard by Western standards. (We booked a queen the following night in Hiroshima and loved it.)

The hotel couldn’t have been more perfect! The location is ideal to explore the city + the airport bus is only few minutes away too! The room was spacious and spotless, the staff was very kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious as well, with lots of variety. The hot spring was my highlight, exceptionally beautiful and relaxing, with either free ice cream or a yogurt drink afterwards. The hotel offered lots of other perks as well, like free late night ramen. All in all, I can’t recommend this hotel enough and I’d gladly stay there again!

Upscale hotel conveniently located in the city center (commercial arcade with lots of restaurants and Japanese-style pubs), with very good indoor and outdoor onsen located on the top floor. Very large choice of high-quality Japanese and international food freshly prepared by chefs.

Paid parking is located a a block away from the hotel, but it is a bit difficult to reach from the hotel location. There is a staff member at the hotel car entrance providing explanations how to reach the parking lot, but it is difficult to stop the car without blocking traffic. It would have been better to receive GPS coordinates of the parking lot before arriving to the hotel.

It was great that they received my luggage from Takyubin with no issues and were very efficient with the check in process. It was godsent after a full day of cycling from Onomichi to Imabari via the Shimanami Kaido. They had an event where they even provided free hot soba noodles for supper, which was amazing after being out in the cold the whole day~!! Location was also amazing, only 10 minutes walk or so from the base to Matsuyama Castle Ropeway!

Loved the hotel!! We have stayed in dormy inn Matsuyama for two nights and we can’t get enough. The staff are very friendly, once she knows we have elderly people in the car, she tried to organize a convenient spot for us to park our 10 people small bus. And she even stayed to guide us for parking. The hotel is model and clean itself. They offer free ice cream, hot noodles in the evening. The breakfast has many options. We had a great time!

This was my first onsen experience and it is life changing; submerging yourself in 42c water alleviates a lot of different aches, especially the ones I get from traveling. The amenities are beyond what I've seen for the price I paid; with free ice cream in the night, free probiotics in the morning, free ramen at night, no fuss about towels (when you ask at the front desk). Their massage chair is top-of-the-line, where it not only rubs but squeezes; it's amazing! Very thoughtful setup with low lighting and beach wave sounds. Check in/out machines are simple. I love speaking very highly of Dormy Inn Matsumaya and I started looking at other Dormy Inns in my Japan stay (All are good but this one was the best!)

The inn is actually a little hard to find among all the other stores, and Google Maps will ask you to loop past the main entrance and send you to the rear entrance (with no shade), so keep an eye out for that! WiFi was intermittently slow here.

Staff are super helpful, also tried very well in English, and had information ready for you in English. The room is small but could still fit quite well with our bags - we only stayed shortly. The onsen was fantastic! So beautiful and peaceful. Everyone was respectful and quiet. Lovely with free ice cream after!

No parking - though they are stated as having parking. But the parking option was actually a car park nearby. It was ok but not what we thought.

- Very friendly and helpful staffs. Really did their best to help to solve your questions - Hot spring and lots of other free services, e.g., laundry machines, massage chairs, free drinks/snacks at specific time. - Can see they tried to present the local special food in the breakfast. - I travelled with my bicycle, and they allowed me to bring it to my room, which felt really safe. Still recommend to communicate with them first to figure out the best way.

The location was great and it was very clean. The 13th floor onsen was beautiful and well appointed. The lounge was amazing with a free icecream fridge, vending machines with alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks, free ramen after 9.30pm, library and massive massage chairs.

I would have given 10/10, but the flat hard pillows were horrible and really affected my sleep. I know they are authentic but there should be an option to change to western pillows. I would even pay a fee for this to be possible.

Onsen was well maintained and run efficiently, big enough to accommodate the rush hour crowds, had all the toiletries required. Rooms were clean and functional. Everything was automated for checkin and checkout so did not get any interactions with staff. Sadly the foot bath at the entrance was closed when we were there due to the rain. Excellent location which we really appreciated because of the covered shopping streets that we took full advantage of during the rainy day.

Pillows were really quite hard but we still managed to get a good nights rest.
