We chose Futago Cabin for the proximity to some ski resorts we wanted to visit in this New Year Holiday and we are SO happy we chose this wonderful place. The staff was fantastic, extremely kind and helpful, the price we paid was unbeatable, the view from anywhere was breathtaking and it felt like being in a real cabin in the mountains. The kitchen was equipped with everything one needs for a holiday to prepare meals, guests can use the refrigerator to put food and drinks inside, and there are supermarkets (Harimaya or Nattus) quite close to the hotel which sell ready to eat meals, and that's what we did for the 4 nights 5 days we spent there. Coffee and tea are provided free of charge, one just can make them by using the hot water electric kettle in the dining room. The mattresses in our room were VERY comfortable and even though it is an older building, we didn't hear other guests talking in their rooms from our room, it was always nice and quiet. Fuel for the room heater costs 600 yen per day, one has just to bring the tank down and the friendly owner will fill it up immediately. Our room was always nice and warm. The bathroom is clean and it was located quite close to the room, separated for men and ladies. We were VERY happy to have found Futago Cabin, and we are going back on March :) HIGHLY Recommended for those looking for a cabin in the mountains style of stay!

I had the pleasure of staying at Futago Cabin last July while attending Fuji Rock Festival. Since I didn't have access to a car, Mr. Kitamura graciously offered to drive me to the nearest station and pick me up after the festival. His kindness and thoughtfulness truly made my stay special. While the accommodations are basic, they offer excellent value for the price, and the view from the cabin is absolutely breathtaking. I'm deeply grateful to Mr. Kitamura for his hospitality and look forward to the opportunity to stay in this lovely place again soon.

Walk distance to a local ski resort. Big kitchen with utensils to cook meals for self. A big living room to rest or make friends. Friendly host.

There's no public transportation. However, the paid service is provided by the owner.

Came here for family winter snow experience. The area is a bit isolated, so its not too crowded. Better to have a vehicle for easy access to amenities and dining. Host is very helpful and can speak basic english.

Its an old style building with squeeky wooden floor and stairs.

The guest house near by Chateau ski resort and many others. The owner provide transportation with a small price. The view is breath taking. The owner can speak English.

Stayed here a couple of time now. Always the first place I check. it's close to the snow resorts, for a great price and the staff is always friendly and helpful.

The windows can rattle loud when it's windy but nothing a rolled up tissue wedged inbetween can't fix.

We like that it is very personable, we throughly enjoyed the warmth and cosy home feel at the common area where you get to meet other people.

The owner Kitamura san is a lovely old man with lots of stories to share, and I enjoyed my time chatting with him. The location of the cabin is very picturesque, and though a little remote, is no problem since Kitamura san will gladly come and pick you up from the nearest station. The cabin, the facilities, my room, were all spacious and comfortable, if a little chilly. The view of the mountains down across the valley is gorgeous and refreshing to stare out at.

I don't mind the cold, so it wasn't a big problem, but in winter be prepared for the cold. The whole building was about 5 degrees Celsius inside, so it would be best to bring comfortable and warm clothing.

Location was beautiful! Ski in and ski out property! Absolutely amazing host, very quiet area and relatively cheap snowboarding grounds!
