The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to pick you up from the train station. Buffet breakfast has a huge variety of options including: eggs, sausages, bacon, coffee, juice, croissants and cereals. Also: hot food, rice, soups, fish, veggies, etc. It’s right next to the ski slope and lift. The Onsen baths were superb, very clean, the view is beautiful from the outdoor one and there are amenities for your convenience.

The Japanese style room was beautiful and it’s a good experience. However, if you are used to a soft bed and pillows it’s not a good idea because they are very firm.

For one, Yuzawa Kogen skii resort and cable lift is just at their backyard. Im no skii but expert, but i think if you are a beginner to intermediate - this would be perfect. Specially for kids to play in the snow. Also they have indoor and outdoor onsen which i enjoyed a lot. Bathing under the snow...❤️. They have their own shuttle bus that runs from Echigo-Yuzawa station to Hotel and vice versa. Although its like 5-8mins walk from the train station. There is also a shuttle that will bring you to all Skii Resort in front of the hotel by the road They have their own skii and snowboarding rental at basement - with free locker for every guest. And it's way cheaper compared to Gala Yuzawa. They have breakfast and dinner. But we omly opt for breakfast. But it is a variety of Western and Japanese. It's not a lot of option compare to other Hotels I've been with, but it is good, delicious and very filling. There is laundry... The staff are very helpful and speak fluent English. The hotel is quite old. It's not as hip as compared to newer hotels these days, but the its well kept, very clean, and the rooms are huge. You can perform your cartwheels. 😂 Will definitely stay here again.... All in all, it is family friendly.

Great location. Right next to Shigakogen ski field and gondola easy to rent ski necessities close by and close to Echigo Yuza station to access the Shinkansen from Tokyo. A fantastic authentic Japanese style hotel with a wonderful hot spring with even an outdoor onsen, varied very traditional dinners which was very much fine dining, and sleeping on futons on a tatami floor. Yukata robes, toothbrushes and amenities all provided. We paid for an early check in.

As I had data only on my phone as I am travelling it was hard to ring the hotel on arrival from the Echigo Yuzawa station to request the free shuttle.

The location was excellent for snow activities with the beginner slope right outside the hotel. Ski equipment and clothing rental was available at the hotel. The rates were reasonable and the equipment was of an excellent standard. The main ski lift and centre were just a short stroll away. We had a traditional Japanese style room which was simple but comfortable. It gave us a good experience of the futon life! The hotel is quite outdated but somehow it added pleasantly to the seventies ski resort vibe. Everything was clean, functional and comfortable. The view from our room was beautiful over the snowy town and mountains. The hotel onsen was a highlight: the outdoor onsen was incredible, a natural hot spring rock pool literally set in the snow with the mountains and trees as a backdrop. What a fantastic relaxing experience!

Upon arrival at the station, instructions were given to phone the hotel to send the shuttle bus, or use a QR code to get the shuttle bus. But without international calling on our phone, it was difficult to communicate with the hotel. The QR code just linked to the hotel website. But fortunately a kind taxi driver called the hotel for us to send the shuttle bus to collect us! Perhaps a better option for international travellers would be helpful. The hotel room only had traditional Japanese green tea. A coffee option would’ve also been nice. Not a deal breaker though.

Yuzawa Toei Hotel is simply wonderful! The location is perfect, and the free shuttle service makes exploring the area a breeze. The staff is exceptionally nice, helpful, and accommodating, adding to the overall pleasant experience. We appreciated the generous freebies and the strong WiFi connection. The hotel also offers accessible facilities and amenities, including a convenient on-site restaurant and souvenir shop. We will definitely be returning, hopefully for a week-long stay next time, to fully enjoy everything Yuzawa Toei Hotel has to offer!

We wished for Netflix or Disney+ for foreign guests, the excellent WiFi more than compensated for this. Our only regret is that we only stayed for one night, which didn’t allow us to enjoy the hot spring and other activities due to our tight schedule.

Snow gear rental more expensive than if you go to the gondola station area Hotel Shuttle bus is only to and from echigo yuzawa station. Need to walk a bit to get to the free public shuttle bus stop (but can also snowboard down to the gondola station to get to the bus stop which was nice)

Everything about this hotel was perfect. The location was right next to the mountain which was absolutely beautiful with the snow falling on it. Watching the ski run was amazing.. Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Absolutely mind blowing views absolutely gorgeous. Can’t wait to return.

Unfortunately, sometimes the evening buffet food was cold and hard but if you go when the buffet starts at 5:30 pm the food is lovely, hot and warm

The check-in process was rapid; the staff was polite and efficient. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, with traditional Japanese items, including soba, miso-soup and grilled fish. The open-air onsen was great. Also, it is extremely convenient for skiing. The hotel has all the rentals, you can get your discounted lift tickets. Then you just come out of the door and start skiing!

It does tend to get very pricy during the skiing season. And needs to be booked well in advnace.

We took the shinkansen to Echigo Yuzawa station, and then called the hotel from the customer service kiosk in the station. The shuttle arrived within 5 minutes. The ski in/out is for Yuzawa Kogen resort, not Gala Yuzawa, just FYI. The dinner buffet was so good, it was worth paying the extra money. We got a room with 4 western beds that overlooked the Yuzawa Kogen slopes and it was perfect! We went sledding, rented some gear downstairs of the hotel. They also rent jackets etc so if you come here without anything, they'll rent it out to you!

If you go to Gala Yuzawa, the hotel shuttle doesn't start running early enough for you to make it to Gala by 8am. We had a hard time getting a taxi, eventually we did ($10USD), but it was also hard to figure out when the shuttle was coming back to the hotel from Gala, so we took a taxi. If I come back here, I would just ski at Yuzawa Kogen ski resort, it was more our speed anyway (beginners). There is one microwave for the entire hotel.

An old-style hotel with friendly staff. I stayed on the Japanese Style room and it is very spacious, with a private bathroom, all facilities and furnitures. Good for a family but too big for a solo traveler. The breakfast was good also. The price is honest for the location and also for the fact that it is out of season.

Maybe because it was an older hotel, some things didn't seem so clean. Some furnitures also looked a lot worn but had no problems. The futon was beside the air conditioning system and it's a little uncomfortable to stay there. Few outlets available.
