Location was great. 10 min walk to Nara Station, 7 min walk to Kintetsu-Nara Station. Extremely clean with access to common areas and kitchen. Host was super accommodating - he waited for us to drop off luggage outside the typical hours because our train was delayed. I would highly recommend. Just note that the expectation is to be quiet from 22:00 to 09:00 as it is a small house. Note that the washroom and shower are relatively small which was not an issue for us since we’re smaller people (tallest person is 169cm). Complimentary coffee, tea. Fridge/freezer/microwave and dishes available.

A very nice stay. The room is not so big, but it's clean and cosy. The staff is super nice and offer great suggestions for food. :) Above all, the location is good. It is close to the shopping and food street and within walking distance of the main tourist attractions.

It's located in the alleys. The host offered a clear and detailed map. It still cost me some time to find it. I am not good at reading maps, so this is probably on me. lol

I liked everything about this sweet little guest house! You feel like you're staying in a home. It's right off the main drag in Nara, and cozy, quiet, and comfortable. The room was very spacious and comfortable, we felt safe and secure. There was a sweet common room and a fully equipped kitchen available for shared use. Staff were friendly, helpful, and clear in property rules and expectations. I can't say enough good things about this property and hope to return someday. It's a shame Nara isn't more of an overnight destination because it was sweet to stay a night, and there is plenty to do, including lots of great food and shopping a minute from the front door.

The bathroom was tiny in comparison to the room, but this is Japan.

Staff are amazing and friendly! Lots of recommendation for interesting places nearby. Kitchen for preparing simple foods, and area to sit down, eat, relax... Room is clean and spacious. Location is excellent!

The tap for the bathroom sink automatically turns off with a sensor. So it's very difficult to brush teeth with it! This is the kind of tap for public bathrooms to save water! And it's only cold water (at the bathroom sink) :/ The room is very sparse, it would be nice to have a bit more storage space or shelf or table to put things on. I end up putting a lot of my stuff on the tatami floor.

This was our second stay at Slow House, and next time we are in Nara, we will book with them again. The room was very comfortable, with futon-style beds and an admittedly small washroom with a small stand-up shower that's otherwise fantastic. The staff are delightful, and they remembered us from our last visit, so that was really nice. The location kind of can't be beat, since it's very close to main streets for food and shopping, but tucked away where it's quiet. Many attractions like Todaiji and Kasuga Tanisha are either within walking distance, or a short taxi or bus ride away. Also lots of hidden gems, and the staff have some favourites all ready to list 0 including vegetarian and vegan restaurants. Arranging for therapeutic massage services with Aroka Spa is easy through the desk staff, and can even be arranged for in-room, with a small adjustment to the price of the service. It's a simple place that nonetheless manages to make our stay special every time.

As stated, the shower is small. Something to consider for larger people or those with mobility issues. Awesome pressure, though!

The location is excellent. Very close to the Nara Nintetsu station. About a 10 min walk. You can take a walk to many local temples, see the museums and return through the forested area of Nara Park on your way navk to the guesthouse. I checked out in the morning, but was able to leave my luggage at the guesthouse and retrieve it in the afternoon after my park tour. Very nice host and clean, quiet guesthouse. I slept well on the comfy bed. There's a kitchen with a microwave, a little hot plate, a kettle, and a fridge to store your food. Good wifi and everything works! Very peaceful and close to restaurants, shopping, and Nara Park.

The only complaint I have is the check-in time frame. Perhaps they could make it open a little later for those who get stuck on a long journey?

It had a welcoming atmosphere and staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room with ensuite was comfortable and spacious. Actually roomier than some expensive hotels we stayed in. Space to open and repackage suites cases which was great.

I don’t think there is as anything we didn’t like. Location good. Airy with a window plus air conditioning to use. Staff brought up an extra mattress and fixed it under bed for extra comfiness as we weren’t used to futons on floor, very accommodating.

Location was perfect, as it was within walking distance of the train stations, shopping areas, and restaurants. I liked that the area is generally peaceful and quiet, not along the major road. I also liked the small kitchen with free coffee and tea. And I appreciated the list of nearby recommended places to eat -- very helpful. Really such a lovely place to stay in.

It was sometimes difficult to walk quietly during sleeping hours, but we did our best!

Slow House was exactly what we needed for a relaxing time in Nara. Time to slow the pace of our journey a but and take it easy. Hiro-san and the team are very welcoming and helpful. The facilities are super clean and lovely throughout including a handy kitchen in the communal area. The room is one of the largest I’ve stayed in in Japanese hotels to date. Very much appreciated and just a 7-10 minute walk from the Kintetsu Nara train station. Wonderful! ありがとうございました🙇🏼‍♂️✨

All was good and as we would have wanted!

Place super clean. Good Wi-fi. Very gentle and available staff. Great location, 1 minute walk from the main street and just 10 minutes walk from Nara deers park.

Very small room. There's no washing machine in the guesthouse and the closest coin laundry is 15 minutes walk! I would have appreciated a washing machine and dryer inside the guesthouse (I believe it would be fair, for the price we paid).
