Sotetsu is a great location central to Dotonburi Street and River and Nipponbashi Bridge literally a 1 min walk. with Namba Train station less than 2 minutes walk and Nipponbashi East train station a 5 min walk. The Kuromon Ichiba Markets is 5 min walk. The closest 711 is 1 minute walk. If catching the Shinkasen from Tokyo the Shin Osaka Train Station is 17 min Uber or 18 min train ride to Namba Station. Kansai Airport is 48 min by train or uber. Overall the location is by far the best thing about Sotetsu. The reception staff are amazing and helpful. English speaking, and multilingual. There's an easy self check in and out service. It's a very busy hotel with constant flow of people coming and going. There are 4 elevators to cope with the high people traffic. The room is standard and small not much room for large suitcases. There's a bed and desk in the double bed room. Windows open to fire exits so you can get fresh air. It has simple bathroom facilities with a bidet and Bathtub. There's bath salts and other complimentary items available in the foyer. There's magnet house keeping and towel changing signs to put on the door. Daily room cleans don't always happen at the specified times so our room didn't cleaned as often as we'd like although we just wanted linen changed at least once in our 6 day stay. We cleaned ourselves. You can put your trash out the door they'll collect and change bins in the mornings when housekeeping do the rounds. Buffet breakfast is worth trying at least once good quality food at a reasonable cost although there is food galore available within meters of the hotel as well. Dotonburi Markets & shops/restaurants generally open at 11am so for early risers There's not much available before then. Everything is open to late hours of the evening. Vending machines in foyer and laundry and 1 outside the building up side alley.

My only complaint is the laundry the washing machine and dryers are all in one it doesn't dry clothes properly so you might have to hang them up in the hotel room. It's timed and if you don't get them out in time reception collects yoir laundry to collect from reception. Pillows were uncomfortable 😫

Location is very near train stations. Just a few steps away from dohtonbori and shinsaibashi shopping street. Room is clean, size is what you expect from the usual budget hotels in japan. We brought 3 luggages (small, medium and large). Space is just enough to open luggage one at a time. Fridge works well. Clothes iron and pants press are available upon request. Free amenities. Bed is comfortable.

The two pillows provided to us were different. One is soft and fluffy while the other one was a bit hard to my liking. Other than that, i can’t thing of anything else that I didn’t like………………………………

Excellent location, 2 minute walk from Dotonbori and numerous bars, restaurants and shops. 3 minute walk from subway station. Good breakfast.

The room was dirty. Hairs everywhere, on the bed, in the bathroom and worst of all the room carpet was matted with hairs. Underneath the bed hadn't been cleaned in years. We would not walk in the room without slippers. In addition there were cigarette burn marks on the duvet cover, this should not happen.

Literally just across Dotonbori and many nearby restaurants and convenient stores.

Location near Dotonburi market

The dine-in breakfast offered a great variety of options. The room was clean and well-maintained. Located within walking distance to Dotonbori and a nearby 7-Eleven as well as subway stations, making it very convenient.

I had an early morning private tour and opted for the takeaway breakfast, which was quite minimal and didn’t match the value of the breakfast cost. It would have been more satisfying if it included items like a sandwich/sliced pizza and a bottle of fruit juice. The coin laundry uses a combined washer-dryer unit, which led to some inconvenience due to long wait times—particularly since the drying cycle needed to be run twice, with each round taking 30 minutes.

As a family of 5 we need to book 2 rooms. I love this hotel as its near dotonbori just across our hotel. There is 7/11 nearby and lost of pharmacy and restaurants. And metro access Nipponbashi and Namba stations are nearby and convenient. The room are good sizes for huge luggages. The food of the breakfast was good variety and love the free toiletries especially there moisturizer, face masks and face washes, hair treatment and free rental of pajamas. Only problem we face was the laundry options only 3 machines and require 2hours so kinda hassle and the washers are always full...

location is in the middle of everything, however can be tricky to bring luggage in with you if you are taking train. The walk is very crowded and overwhelming. Lotion, hair wax, bath salt, hair ties etc ammenities are great.

The room is not clean, there are lots of smudge marks on the mirror, the hangers are peeling. See photos. The building feels old, reception / check in process feels chaotic, the room is small, the bath tub and room set up is tricky to use. bathtub does't allow bath curtin to fully shut. The bath room door & room door doesn't allow suit case to stay open, and you can only have one suit case open at a time.

The hotel is super close to Dontonbori, from the entrance you walk right, cross the street and you’re there. The rooms don’t come w/ amenities but they have them near the elevator for guests to come and take. There are also pajamas (one size) for guest to use. In the lobby they have a money exchange machine which honestly has the best USD rate compared to the outside stores imo. Breakfast is good, they always serve the same food rotating one only entree every day (potato croquettes > french fries > spring rolls). In every floor there’s a microwave in front of the elevator. Lastly the coin operated laundry/dryer and ice machine w/ cups provided is on the 2nd floor.

The toilet in the room gets clogged fast. You can throw toilet tissue in the toilet as it’s the dissolving kind, but I suggest you do a full flush every time you throw tissue. The flush has two sides: right is half flush and left is full flush. Don’t throw anything else in the toilet but the toilet tissue, not even liquid. The room is pretty small so if you plan on shopping alot like us, be sure you pack light. We each had a spare check in bag since all our clothes fit in our hand carry bag. Every time we shop we put them in the check in bag to save space in the room.

Great location and everything clean.
