The location was the best selling point of this hotel. Not only was it near a lot shops and restaurants. Sensoji Temple was walkable and stalls and instagramable street food was so near. Loved that the Haneda bus stops in this hotel so I don't have scramble in trains nor take expensive taxis. Seven- eleven stores were near and also Lawson. Don Quijote is so near as well. The staff were so nice and helpful and friendly. The view was spectacular as well. It was almost breathtaking the first time you draw back the curtains.

The hotel needs sprucing. It's considered a 4 star but it does not live up to it. The carpets in the hallways and in our room was so stained and old. The bedspread was old and stained as well. They need to invest in new carpeting and bedspreads. Then their hotel will be perfect. Really everyone is mentioning these negative points in their reviews for years, maybe they should start listening?

Amazing buffet breakfast, clean and quiet, nice views of the Sky Tower, friendly staff. Clean rooms with great water pressure and hot water

Room was accurate to pictures, family of four in four single beds that felt a little like a dorm. Lots of pictures of the pool but found out using it would cost extra and pool no kids allowed

What a insane view. The hotel felt very posh and the rooms felt pretty cozy. Not too big not too small. The lounge wear was nice, the bathroom felt very advanced and the bed was nice and comfy. Loved the location. I was on the 16th floor and felt on top of the world.

The bathroom smelled a little strange? I think bath tub wasn't caulked correctly, and I think mold was growing behind it's seams and edges? I wish there was a bottle opener in the room. The view is nice but it gets really hot really quickly in the room and the Air condition/heater system didn't seem to work.

This hotel has been my last stop on many a trip to Japan. It is well located for last minute shopping and an easy walk to the subway -G18, if you want to get about Tokyo. The rooms are more spacious than most, and the ones on the executive levels facing the Sky Tree are my favourite. There are no hot baths at the hotel, however the bathroom is a decent size so you have enough room to relax. The hotel has laundry facilities on the 5th floor. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and the variety is really very good. You can enjoy lovely walks around the area and it feels very safe. For instance, I regularly jog down around Ueno station and also over to the Sky Tree before all the tourists make their way out. There are some very cool little restaurants all around, and some of the best are located on the Ueno side behind the hotel, so don’t always head towards the temple side. The beds are comfortable, with fluffy robes, as well as yukatas, and a check out time of 12pm. The best feature has to be the view out over Tokyo towards the Sky Tree.

I wish there was an onsen. That would just propel this hotel into the next level.

The room is very spacious with direct view of Tokyo Sky Tree. Everything in the room is spotless. The bed is comfortable. The location is superb with a subway entrance in front of the hotel. They even offered free 3 hour parking space for my rental car, which is rare in Tokyo. Breakfast is really good, my daughter really loves it.

We stayed in the beginning of spring when the weather kept fluctuating. On the first night, the temperature outside was around 12-15 C, and the hotel turned on the heater which made me feel really uncomfortable. This was, though, easily solved by opeining the room's window.

With the favorable USD/Yen exchange rate (142 Yen) made this hotel more affordable. Closest rail station is only a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Donki, Kura sushi and Sushiro sushi are less than a 6 minute walk. Sanpei market and Yamazaki bakery are close by. Convenient Airport Limousine bus service at 1400 yen, recommend you book your two round trip tickets at the airport terminal otherwise your return ticket will need to be booked online. Hotel has a Sky Tree view rooms at extra cost, we thought it was worth it, every yen spent. Hotel service is above board, from the doormen and doorwomen to the reservation desk. Staff helped us walk through the online booking for the Airport Limousine bus service (actually they did most of the work). I think the American Express card is not accepted by the vendor, tried using two different Amex cards.

I think they should have a backlighting on the hotel signage to make the hotel more visible from the street.

Loved the ease of being directly transported from airport limousine bus service. The rooms were exceptionally large and we had the best views of Skytree, Sensoji Temple and Sunrise! Mt Fuji is also visible from the elevator lobby area. Sensoji temple is a 5 minute walk and there is various 7-11s, eateries and train stations within walking distance of Asakusa View Hotel. The staff was very polite and helpful in getting us taxis and answering any questions.

The room was very warm and we were unable to cool it down as theremostat was pre-programmed and the hotel informed us that they did not have cooling set up. The bathroom had a musky smell and the water clogged up in the bathtub each time we took a shower.

Breakfast is good. Room is spacious and clean. I like the Japanese tea they provide in room. In addition to rooms, restaurant for breakfast is also located in higher floor with good view, that give me a good start in the morning.

I was asked to fill down my adress in China when I checked in, but I am a European. They quickly judged me by skin color, this made me very uncomfortable. In restaurant, when I waited to have breakfast, they also supposed the one behind me to be my family just because we looked Asian -- and this happened many times.

Asakusa View is your classic older grand style "big" 4/5 star iconic hotel. It was the most expensive room we booked in Tokyo but in saying that there are many many hotels charging rather hugely more than what we paid at Asakusa View. With breakfast included we still maintain the hotel represented good value. The rooms were very comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean, if a little smaller than other hotels on offer.....but as the name suggests we had a wonderful view from our 18th floor room over the city to the south with Fuji rising in the distance. Excellent buffet breakfast with a huge choice - served from restaurant on 25th floor with once again stunning views over the city and Tokyo Skytree tower. We spent some time in the evening in the 28th floor bar. Again spectacular views and a damn fine Martini - but see comments below....mild issue at entrance.

The 28th floor bar had confusing house rules.... We arrived to be greeted initially with a "sorry, booked out" welcome - but it was 6pm and the place was deserted (only two other customers) A sign at the door said 1500Y cover charge - which definitely was not communicated in any hotel room information. The three of us politely but strongly protested that hotel guests should not be charged (3 of us would have to pay $45 AUD to just enter the bar!) and we were subsequently invited in without the fee being charged. Perhaps just a "lost in translation" moment??? It is still unclear whether this cover charge applies to everyone or just non hotel guests/public. Once we settled in, it is a superb place for a cocktail with unsurpassed city views....
