The Hotel is located in a nice area in the middle of the city. With its big garden it is like an oasis in the middle of Tokyo. And the garden is definitely the highlight of this hotel. The service is outstanding with the politeness and pro active support of the staff.

The only thing that gave a downturn in this hotel is the pool access. Think about it; it is a 5-star hotel where one pays around $ 400-$ 500 per night. But then they charge you a pool access fee of around $ 25? I had never experienced anything like that before in any hotel, especially not in a high-class one. Then make the price of one night $ 20 higher rather than embarrassing hotel guests by charging them extra for pool access. Without this, the hotel would easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10.

This is an exquisite hotel, beautifully and authentically Japanese. The staff were very caring and helped teach me some Japanese! I was there solo and I felt very nurtured and safe in this stunning place.

This was one of the best hotels I have experienced in my whole life. Every detail is thought about. Number one favourite thing for us was the garden. Absolute magic. We tried every restaurant in the hotel and each was exceptional. With two small kids, ages 5 and 2, this was the perfect hotel. I was sad to leave and can’t wait to come back.

The selection at the executive lounge was quite limited, compared to other hotels. But everything else was so great, we didn’t mind.

Great room (we paid for an upgrade to a 60 m2 room, which was worth it for 3 people), comfortable beds, even the portable bed was good. Huge bathroom, with a tub and a large shower cabin. Great breakfast, served at the table (no buffet). Several restaurants on site, we did not try them all (the fancy kaiseki restaurant needs to be booked >3 days in advance), but the tepan yaki was excellent, the japanese and western restaurants were quite good too. Quiet location, adjacent to a beautiful park.

A bit far from the city center: 10 min walk to the nearest subway station (Edogawabashi), then 20-30 min to your destination. But I guess it's the price to pay for a quiet environment in a city like Tokyo.

This is our second visit to Hotel Chinzanso and once again the hotel and staff did not disappoint. The staff are welcoming, friendly and professional. Our room, overlooking the Hotel gardens was large, with large bathroom, separate toilet and dressing room, and Nespresso coffee machine. We enjoyed the Japanese and Western breakfast each morning. Tokyo CBD is easily accessible via a fast and efficient train service. But the highlight of our stay was the beautiful gardens, with a Cloud and light show daily. We enjoyed our stay very much and we will be returning again.

Only one complaint. The lack of English speaking Television channels.

The room was spacious with an amazing city view. The hotel garden with the shrine and the fog theatrics was really beautiful and a pleasure to walk through at any time of the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are equipped with standard Japanese outlets, and the mention of adapters from the staff was buried deep in the accommodations listing. I ended up buying two local chargers for our phones, but that was on me for not reading the entire list thoroughly. It would be great if the adapters/different chargers would be in the room by default.

Beautiful garden and good accommodation

Breakfast venues were full both days. There seems to be a problem accommodating people for breakfast.

A lovely location in the middle of a park. Really delightful. The hotel is old school - think English country mansion crossed with Italian Baroque. Perhaps a bit fussy if it was going to be your house but as a place to visit it is delightful. Staff were great and all at a very reasonable price. And there is a garden centre next to the hotel. What's not to like?

It is perhaps a little remote. Yes one can get a bus somewhere but you cannot just pop out of the hotel for a beer or a morning coffee. The hotel restaurants are great but not totally cheap and again it is an effort to find an alternative. PS There is a coffee shop next to the hotel but it doesn't open at a time I woud call the morning. Perhaps if you are a very late riser...

It's a great place. Lovely rooms of a generous size. Great gardens and views. After one has stayed in other hotels in Tokyo it is a great pleasure to find such a wonderful place. Location seems a little remote but once you understand it it's actually rather good. Short walk down to Nishiwasoda and along to Takadanobaba past numerous jazz clubs and restaurants. 61 bus goes from outside the door down to Shinjuku. Next to hotel there is a vegetarian restaurant if that is your kind of thing. Down the hill there's a place called Le Pain France which looks good through we did not go there. Garden room is worth the extra. Takes it from good to special. The restaurants in the hotel are great too.

The hotel restaurants are really a bit expensive. I am not terribly price sensitive but even I balk at 26k per person.

Room, food, cleanliness, staff, and hotel garden/ location were all great. Highly recommend
