Staff were very helpful. As with Tokyo in recent times, the staff all spoke excellent English and many of them were non-Japanese (or mixed blood). It gave the place a very international feel, while ensuring order and cleanliness you'd expect from any accomodation was provided. I say this because "international" locations in Japan sometimes can be really wild and out of control.

Nothing the property can do, but as suggested by the location name KAGURAZAKA, the area is full of slopes and will be a challenge for people with lots of luggage if the subway is your chosen mode of transport. You might want to suggest guests to take a taxi from Iidabashi JR station instead, especially when it is raining.

I generally steer clear of capsule hotels because I like my privacy, and I'm also a bit claustrophobic, but this place worked well even for me! Highly recommend it to anyone travelling on a budget! The cabins have a little extra space where you can set up your daily stuff, and there's a little light and a small lockable box at the deep end. The cabins are enclosed with curtains (I was able to specifically request this) and often open to a wall of windows. so you are never boxed in and can even get some natural daylight. The cafe space on the ground floor is really lovely, even though the food is kinda meh.

I guess I'm just too old for this stuff, climbing up and down the steps was a little troublesome for me, and the fact that everyone in the room can hear everything made me feel really anxious as I did not want to bother anybody. It could also do with some luggage storage, cos people had to park their suitcases along the corridors and where ever they could find space.

Too many things I loved about this place. I was here for 8 nights about and I'll break this down on why I loved it here. 1. Staff. They are not only amazing though beautiful. There is a strong sense of cohesiveness here. They get along well together that creates a family environment. This too reflects on people's stay here. I got to know the people who worked here too and honestly, their personalities made a difference to my stay. Unplan were very clever in who they recruited to work here. They are from all different backgrounds and cultures. This only made sharing experiences of Tokyo relatable. Love you all and miss you all btw. Love Maria Thi Thu Thao Nguyen Xx 2. Cleanliness - oh this place was clean. Super clean 🫧🪥 3. Activities - they have activities available. Really important. Besides being a polite society Tokyo can be a cold society and culture. The activities fostered a family environment which made you feel like home after a big day exploring the city. 4. Cafe and restaurant - now, I didn't eat from the cafe or restaurant. I heard it was really good. What I liked about it was the space it provides for breakfast. A large communal area that encouraged people to sit relax and talk to each other in the mornings. When in Tokyo, you realize how important being social isbas the culture is super introverted. 5. Location - Kagaruzaka is the "Paris" part of Tokyo. For me, I liked the fact it was in the quiet area. After a long busy day exploring Tokyo, it is refreshing to head back to a place with ambience and is quiet for myself to recharge. There are way too many good things I can say about this place. I'll be back here next year and am definitely staying here. I loved the people who worked here and the people I met most of all. I miss you already!

Can't say a bad thing at all.

Location was in a great neighbourhood. Very easy to get to popular areas, as only a 2min walk to a metro station, but the surrounding area was also really cool. Staff where very friendly, hotel was clean & good facilities, there is even a rooftop terrace 🙂

Everything was great, we only struggled with the breakfast. Although it was tasty, it was quite repetitive as we stayed for 6 nights.

Probably the best hostel of this type that I've been to. Didn't have to suffer cold or draft. Bathroom/shower and common area are spacious. Staff was nice and there was even free breakfast, which is beyond what I could've asked for. The location is ridiculously good with how fast you can get to all the places that matter.

Their laundry machines work by some app that you have to install (unless you just put in coins anyway). I think they should just remove the tapes and deal with the fact that coins are more convenient and what most guests are used to.

It’s new and clean. It’s good there is shower inside the female dorm. There are family restaurants and convenience stores nearby if you arrive late.

It has no coin locker for putting luggage, the locker in the bunk is too small. Also no free toothbrush compared to other hostels. Common area is a bit small and not very tidy and clean.

Very nice residental area, close to the subway, with a nice breakfast meny and a cozy cafe for locals in the evening. We stayed in one of the non-capsule rooms and it was very big for japanese standards! With a balcony as well! It felt very non-touristy and homey, compared to hotels we stayed at in the more hyped and central areas in Kyoto and Osaka. I can really recommend this place for budget travel! Probably wouldn't have had visited Kagurazaka otherwise and I'm very happy that we did, a very nice neighbourhood and apparently one of the few places in Tokyo with geishas.

Would have liked the option of room cleaning. AC wasn't very good.

Awesome café and common area. Right next to a convenience store. If you're a Solo traveller, it's nice to be in a place that feels socially alive and welcoming.

No place to store luggage. Could be cheaper for what is offered in terms of - just a bunk bed.

Very clean and modern hostel that becomes a cozy bar at night. The location is nice as it's located just several minutes away from the nearest station by walk. I enjoyed the breakfast every day (bagels, coffee, juice) and they also sell other foods and drinks in case you need more variety. The staff members were very helpful and bicycle rental service is provided as well.

The space is rather small because you share a room with many people. The common room upstairs is tiny as well, making it difficult to relax. You could sit downstairs, but guests are drinking and chatting there, so if you are introvert, this setup might feel exhausting. Also, the shower rooms and sinks are used by all genders. This is fine for me, but I can imagine some people being uncomfortable with that.
