A very good in location there are to train stations. The local train Okubo Station about 1 min. walk and Yamanote Line (Shin- Okubo Station) about 3 min. walk. There are lot of dining places to choose from. Like Yoshinoya, Sukiya, McDonald's etc. a Donki Qui open 24 hrs. a grocery nearby. This place is part of shinjuku which 1 station away. The room is large enough. Although they need to upgrade the place due to old furniture like in the 70s or 80s era. You have to left the key in counter every time you go out. I guess it for housekeeping purposes. They cleaned the room. Key they still use 🗝️ key in the room which is not so typical in a hotel. Overall it is fine but don't expect to much.

The location was amazing; hotel was near Okubo and Shin Okubo stations, which was very convenient since by the end of our trip we were getting exhausted. There were two konbinis very close by as well. Staff was very nice, Nishimine-san could even say some sentences in Portuguese which made us really happy! Also, we were very lucky to get a room in the ground floor, since there's no elevator in the building.

The bathroom had a weird smell when we got there. It got better after leaving the door open and the exhaustion on all the time, but whenever the room got cleaned and the staff turned the exhaust off, we would come back to the same bad smell once more. Dryer didn't work when we washed our laundry. We could smell cigarette smoke coming through the window sometimes.

Exactly like the photos, big enough space in the room for large suitcases, was clean and reasonably quiet considering it was right near the train station.

Only thing was the pillows were very thin which we weren’t used to but other than that it was great.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It was quiet and peaceful, perfect for relaxing after a long day exploring Shinjuku / Shibuya. The staff were lovely—always kind and helpful. One of the best things about the hotel is its location: just a short walk from Okubo Station, which made getting around incredibly convenient. What I loved the most is the beautiful alley where the hotel is located. It’s one of those narrow, typically Japanese alleys that have a cozy charm to them. There’s even a cherry blossom tree right at the entrance, which made for a magical night walk. Highly recommend if you're looking for a calm, well-placed spot in the city.

Spent 4 nights at the Okubo Hotel Hawaii and really enjoyed my stay. The reception is open all night, the staff is friendly and my room was comfy and spacious(I had a Japanese style room). The Okubo train station is literally 1min away. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can hear the trains, but they don't run from around 11PM to 5AM and even after they start running, I didn't find the noise to be very loud. For light sleepers, I'd still recommend earplugs. The Shin-Okubo station is 5min away. All in all, I had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it!

There was no free water provided - that was the only downside for me. There is tea and a kettle, though.

-Conveniently located with both JR and Metro lines within walking distance, as well as plenty of konbini nearby -Bed done, towel changed and trash picked daily -Possible to drop our bags before check-in time (we arrived at 8am) -Kettle, ‘instant’ tea, fridge available -Key to be dropped at the reception every time one leaves Good value for money for those who tend to be out most of the day.

-‘Cabin bathroom’ in plastic, a bit cold, but functional -Maybe: no visibility through the window Note: the hotel is at the end of a small street if you arrive by the main yamanote line exit, do not be put off.

The staff was very friendly and provided us with a very heartfelt welcome. They helped a lot with our planing for the day even tho there was a slight language barrier. The room had everything we needed and was just practical, nothing fancy but that simplicity was exactly what we where looking for. There was a vending machine and a microwave on the ground level and a lunch room which was great. Smoking is possible outside in a very clean area. The cleaning was very good, daily fresh towels. The location of the hotel was amazing, right next to 2 stations and you could walk until Shinjuku. A lot of restaurants, convenient stores and everything else you might need.

No elevator but thats not to bad.

The location is the best..it's just 10mins walk either to the JR yamanote line or the local okubo line. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful and they have a 24hr check in desk..we landed late so we were happy to that we could check in even at 10pm..

As any other hotels in japan the rooms are pretty small, you'll just have space to open one suitcase. But since we were out most of the days..it was just a pitstop for us to sleep. Only downside is there is no elevator so people with huge and heavy luggage beware, you'll have to lug your own luggage all the way up to the room.

The hotel room was much more spacious then what I expected of a Japanese business hotel. The location is 5min away by foot from Okubo station and it’s easily accessible from Shinjuku. Conbinis and restaurants can be easily found in the vicinity.

The pillow was so so flat it provided zero support and it wasn’t possible to have additional pillows. There are 4 floors with quite steep stairs so if you have big luggages, maybe ask for a lower floor room. The area at night might have some homeless people rooming around, so do be careful.

Great value place in an awesome location- right outside the local JR station and a quick 3-5 min walk to the Yamanote line. Great to walk back from Shinjuku when the trains stop running. The location is definitely the best part about this place. Good value if you don't mind a somewhat spartan hotel. Staffed 24/7 and seem to speak basic english and were helpful when we locked ourselves out. Detergent is provided in laundry room. AC/heating worked great. Room was clean aside from bathroom with minor gnat problem

Gnats in bathroom, had to clean them from the bathtub before entering, thin pillow. Have to leave room key before leaving- not a minus but an interesting quirk. No elevator, steep stairs so beware. One of the dryers was down for maintenance and took a while to dry a single load- these are residential appliances and not your typical coin-operated commercial machines.
