This place is centrally located. 2-3 mins to the train station and a good 1-2 mins to restos, shops, supermarkets, etc. But you won’t even know until you get out of the hotel because the neighborhood is so quiet. The staff are all fluent in English. They’re very helpful and accommodating. We had big luggages and the staff helped us carry our luggages upstairs. They cleaned our room every day and provided new towels. We had two big luggages and two carry ons but we still managed to open three of them the whole time we stayed. Futons are so soft and comfortable. The shower is so easy to regulate. I loved the shower room, so minimalist and has a full body mirror. This is your traditional Japanese room. We left for Osaka and Kyoto for 11 days and they kept our small backpack for us as we’re booked again with them when we went back to Tokyo. It’s only 5 mins by train to Shibuya. Towels are soft. The building is quiet.

None.

Wonderful location, extremely close to the station. Staff were incredibly friendly and all very happy to help, all had great English skills too which was really helpful. Room wise it was spacious for what we paid. The tatami beds were comfortable, and staff changed our towels daily, bed sheets changed every three days. There was a dressing room with a table, wardrobe and clothes rack- very convenient to leave baggage. Shower and toilet both in best condition and very clean. Laundry was easy to use and communal kitchen/common room available for use. Wifi is available. Free bathroom amenities and hairdryer available too.

Nothing!

If you’re looking for a budget friendly stay that is super cozy, with really accessible transit, I really can’t recommend this place enough. If you’re not fussy about staying in a modern hotel and are open to a more traditional Japanese inn stay, definitely come here. The staff are amazingly helpful and friendly. 24-hour concierge is super convenient and they helped us ship off our bags to our next destination without any concern. About a 3 minute walk to the nearest station, it’s a great home base. The surrounding area is busy but the hotel itself is tucked away nicely on a quiet street. Would absolutely stay here again.

We loved everything about it! I think if you’re expecting the four seasons you might be disappointed… but genuinely I can’t complain at all. We had a great experience.

The location was excellent and very close to the train station. It is in Tokyos “Koreatown” and we had a blast experiencing the local cuisine, getting gachapon from machines nearby, playing the claw machine games, renting a karaoke room, and shopping in the area. It’s a wonderful neighborhood. The hosts were so kind and wonderful, and the hotel is staffed 24 hours a day, so there is always someone to answer questions or help. They are also very good at speaking English! The room was always very clean. It was also spacious for Japan standards and the beds were comfortable. The air conditioning was very welcomed after a long day of walking around in the heat. I absolutely loved this place.

The staff was very friendly and personable. They spoke English very well and were gracious in explaining how a traditional Japanese stay works. There were also detailed instructions in English located in the room. The location was ideal. It was on a quiet street that connected to a busy main street. Very close to the metro. The shower/bath was amazing!! Even though there was no elevator, our host generously carried our bag upstairs.

The room got lots of natural light, but, we couldn't see through the glass on the windows. We had to return our room key every time we left the hotel which was something I've never had to do before at a hotel. That was something new I had to get used to.

Comfy futons on tatami mats. Rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels. We arrived really early from Kyoto and the hosts let us wait in the upstairs breakout room while our room was getting sorted. A real mom 'n pop type place, where you could use the communal kitchen, laundry etc. Its an old building so don't expect shiny and modern. Was really close to the station and lots of cheap grocery shops around if you wanted to make your own meals.

The WiFi was a bit iffy but we only noticed as we ran out of data on our last day.

Perfect for what it is!! Small but so cozy and tidy with every convenience you need. Love the traditional style- but it did mean we needed to duck to avoid hitting heads on the doorframes! Great location on a super convenient train line but the neighbourhood itself felt peaceful and approachable- tucked between busy centres of Shinjuku.

Don’t book if you don’t want to sleep on thin mats on the ground- but it was awesome for us!

The room seems to actually have been a small apartment at one time, with a separate room for the table and warddrobe, and the front room set for sleeping. The bathroom is sectioned, and really clean. The front staff were lovely and helpful. It's in easy walking distance of Shin Okubo station and about a zillion places to eat and drink. Shinjuku's super busy all the time, but the location of this hotel keeps the noise away easily. It was a delightful stay.

I mean, it's a bit dated, but not in a way that we disliked, or that impacted our stay negatively. It's an interesting building.

Daily housekeeping, very friendly staff, very clean rooms (we did not see a single pest throughout the entire stay), air conditioning and private bathroom, awesome location (Okubo Station is 5 mins away to the right, and Shin-Okubo Station is 5 mins away to the left)

The rooms don't look glamorous on the inside but you get what you pay for so we didn't really mind this small thing. Also we wish that the washing machines had more detailed instructions.

A repeat visit after last staying in 2019. The entire team are very friendly, professional and exceptionally easy to communicate with. The team assistance with my heavy luggage up/down the staircase plus offered to call taxis for me for the airport. There are also useful information brochures in the reception for tourism and city visitors. I was fortunate to be able to stay in the room with the double bed which made the extended stay even more comfortable. The room had cleaning and used towel replacement every day with bedsheets replaced every 3 days. The room is large for Tokyo. The place has laundry (washer and dryer) machines for guest use for ¥100 per use alongside a useful shared lounge and kitchen area on the top floor. The location is very convenient between 2 JR stations and also easy walking distance to Shinjuku. From Haneda Airport, it took around 1 hour on the Monorail and JR Yamanote Line or 30 minutes in a taxi. There are multiple 24 hours convenience stores around the hotel plus a Donki and many restaurants. It was an awesome base from which I could explore the city for a couple of weeks. Would totally recommend and absolutely stay again.

The hotel is rightfully popular and it can be challenging to find availability.
