Hotel CEN is a great place to base yourself for your days out and about in Tokyo. It is very centrally located just on the outskirts of Shinjuku so is walking distance from the main hub and very close to a Yamonote line station (Shin Okubo) so all of the main sight seeing stops are very accessible. It's surprisingly quiet given its in a pretty active area of what is Tokyo's 'Little Korea'. Rooms are expectedly tiny for a couple (this is central Tokyo after all and im 191cm tall) but ideal for solo traveller and are well appointed and have everything you need. Staff are helpful and friendly and they make one of the best coffees in Tokyo at the cafe/bar. One of the staff went above and beyond and helped me get back something i left behinds in a store too. Overall a very good experience.

With bathroom sink within the bedroom and almost no place to hang anything a few hooks for hand towels and/or larger towels would be convenient.

The hotel is modern and central to everything. It had all you needed and the staff was really friendly. It celebrates diversity and should be promoted for that👍🏻you’re really close to the metro station and Shinjuku, which is the place to be. But the street itself is quiet, may be because the hotel neighbours a cemetery. I didn’t mind that.

The room really is small (12m2) I liked it, style and everything, but my husband is big and didn’t fit in. But still worth a try. Though I really think it’s expensive for the room size. A tip : ask for the rooms 101, 201, 301 or 401, as they are behind the elevator and a bit more spacious than the others. It’s worth a try. Would come back in a least demanded season. Maybe the price changes than.

The hotel is located at a very convenient place as there is about a 5 minute walk to the nearby metro which takes you directly to Shinjuku and Shibuya. The hotel room we were given was very nice, there was plenty of floor space for two big suitcases, a small stroller and two bags. there is plenty of local bars and restaurants around as well there is a café connected to the hotel which was very pleasant

The vibe in the surrounding area seems to have a huge change from day to night time The neighbourhood seems to have a lot of love hotels which also brings in a lot of prostitutions. We saw several girls on the neighbouring streets during night time.

Hotel Cen was a great place to stay whilst visiting Tokyo. It’s a very short walk from the subway and bus drop off point from the airport so I was able to walk there within 8 minutes when I arrived in Tokyo. It’s slightly out of the busiest & noisiest parts of Shinjuku and is in Koreatown which I liked as I felt like I could retreat from the hustle and bustle after a long day, and there are loads of little restaurants within a few blocks if you feel like a late night snack or eating dinner closer to home. The room was cosy, felt very new & clean and staff were lovely and helpful. Highly recommend this as a place to stay if visiting Tokyo if you want to be in the Shinjuku area where there is lots going on.

The room might feel a little cramped if travelling as a couple, but it is bigger than what many other hotels offer in Japan.

I liked how it had that open air feel with the bathroom walls having an option to be without shades to open the space. Even my fiends who rented elsewhere said my place was spacious. And it even came with a fridge. No complaints for me. I slept well on the bed. Amazingly. And there was so much food in the same vicinity. Including in the hotel. Thank you staff for taking care of us.

The only thing I didn’t like is that it didn’t have an option to have another set of curtains. It was either black out or not but I would crack the shades open a bit to reveal natural light. Other than that. I think it worked out great.

Had a great stay at Hotel Cen. The location is good, very close to Shinjuku and also the Okuba stations which can take you anywhere quick. Decent amount of food around.

Okubo is essentially little Korea, and is home to many Asian immigrants. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this, but I’d didn’t feel all that “local Japanese” if that’s what you’re after. The area can also be pretty seedy at night. Immediately around the hotel is totally fine, but if you stray a little further it gets a bit weird. However it’s worth noting that “seedy” in Japan is nothing like other countries. Still a nice area and plenty safe, just not my favorite area.

Great location to explore Shinjuku and Tokyo as a whole. The hotel is on a quiet road near a number of metro stations, so is a great base to explore Tokyo. The staff are friendly and kind and helped us fill in the forms to forward our luggage. The rooms are small but well set up. The cafe downstairs does really good coffee so is a good place to start your day.

Room was small (probably expected for Tokyo) and the bed was set against the wall, so you had to clamber in. Our room on the third floor smelled quite a bit of damp.

The location of Hotel Cen is an excellent place for first-time visitors to Tokyo, there is quick access to many popular neighbourhoods and easy access to transit. The hotel itself is clean, the beds are very comfortable, the staff is very accommodating, and the food and coffee is good. I would certainly recommend Hotel Cen, especially for first-time visitors to Tokyo who are planning to spend some time seeing Shibuya, Shinjuku, and other nearby neighbourhoods.

The only note I have is NOT a complaint against Hotel Cen. Space is a difficult commodity to come by in Tokyo, so the hotel rooms may be smaller than what some are expecting. If you are someone who's expecting a larger hotel room, you may wish to seek that out specifically – you're unlikely to find it at most hotels in Tokyo. I was personally very happy with the smaller room because I was expecting it, having read about Tokyo before.

Good location "IF" you don't mind being in Korea town. Prices at the coffee shop was a little expensive since you could go right upstairs to buy a coke for 1/3 the cost

Many smaller hotels have 24 hr staff. With many flights arriving late, the owner should consider staffing the desk until at least 0200. Our flight was delayed and we rushed the taxi (I speak Japanese fluently so I told him our predicament). We got there at 1150 and the dude was already ready to leave. Please do better with this

Very close (less than 6 minute walk) to two train stations. Plenty of food and convenience stores in walking distance. Quiets area of course. Free umbrellas to borrow and a cafe right at the entrance. Microwave, drink machine and coin laundry on 2nd floor. Room has a mini fridge. Next door to several restaurants and vending machines.

Standard Japanese sizing. Not a con for myself personally because I’m small but just as a size comparison, anything larger than the carry-on roll luggage would not be able to be unzipped on the floor. Shower is just large enough for one person. Paid 200 yen to wash clothes and followed the steps but it didn’t say that I also needed to individually press “rinse” “spin” after I already pressed “wash” so I paid 200 more just to do a complete wash cycle. Dryer needed a minimum of 3 hours recommended so I let them air dry
