I stayed at Moses Residence for 4 nights in November. This is a relatively new family run hotel. I was worried about my arrival time after landing at approx midnight at Amman airport (approx 200km away or 2.5 hours). I shouldn’t have been - Yousef and Moataz were excellent throughout. Yousef contacted me before I arrived to organise a pick up. They both came and met me at the airport and drove the 2.5 hours to the hotel at Wadi Musa. We arrived at approx 3am and they checked me in. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome. There was a mix up with the room as i asked for a deluxe king size (they placed me in a twin room) but that was corrected the next day and the room was exactly like the photos (I recommend room 303). Very comfortable and clean and especially welcome after a long day trekking in Petra. The air conditioning works well (hot and cold). There’s bottled water throughout even on the landing, as well as snacks, nespresso coffee machine on each floor. The showers are piping hot and there’s daily cleaning. Yousef is well travelled himself and understands what a traveller wants. The hotel is located in the centre of wadi musa. Perfect for all local restaurants (I recommend Beit Albarak and Al Waadi which are just 50 metres away), ATMs are next door. Petra Visitors Centre (the entrance to Petra and all the sights) is approx 1.5km away and a steep downhill walk. (Remember this is uphill on the way back!) Yousef and Moataz texted each day to ensure everything was ok, and gave me tips on do’s and dont’s. Even the best way to navigate Petra (start at Little Petra to see the Monastery and avoid the steep 1100 step climb). Moataz also dropped me at Amman airport early in the morning on my way home. Pick up and drop off each way was 90JD which is reasonable and a bit cheaper than the dodgy local taxis that are a gamble. Overall a great visit to Petra and would recommend the hotel. Yousef and Moataz will do what they can to look after you

ok - the mix up with the rooms wasnt great but that was very quickly corrected the next morning so no issues. The new room was excellent. If im being picky some of the finishing around the shower/toilet could be better but thats just me being @nal!!!

There are small things to be fixed or addressed which we thought were annoying but not too bad e.g. the room roilet flush was a bit broken but they did fix it the next day it is fragile, the light in the wardrobe kept turning on until we wedged a shoe between the door panels so it would stay off, fridge light was very very bright so we switched it off, the balcony was so tiny you cant even go on it, it is a useless balcony but they told us it was something special that they gave to us!

Its a small hotel but surprisingly very good and super clean. We really enjoy our time in here. A trip to Petra is super exhausting...and i think you need a good place to stay to recover after many hours exploring Petra, and Moses Residence is a good one. Near money changer, places to eat, mosque and you can easily park the car near the hotel. Most importantly, they have a good bed, a very comfortable one and this is so much needed after hours of walking. This place is like a gem. Highly recommended. The owner himself rushed to the hotel to greet us and gave us a recommendation the best way to explore Petra. We bring our 7 years old daughter, and without his advice, we didnt think will manage to be able to explore the whole Petra. Thank you so much!!!

The apartment is at the top of town. It does the job for a night or two. You can walk to almost any restaurant/cafe. The owner and the guys that meet you are friendly. You can usually find a parking spot out the front on the street.

The reception is under the stairs, just a note, really. 🫣 The shower, don't expect much. If the water is luke warm, let the owner know, and VIOLA, suddenly you have hot water. 😉 The mini bar in the room and in the corridors don't match the listing of what should actually be there, but that only matters if you actually want something. 🤔 The A/C, leave it on when you go out, and the room will warm up. That's if the cleaner doesn't turn it off. The A/C doesn't work to capacity, but there is a spare blanket in the cupboard. 🤪

Moses residence come with modern and sleek interior,spotless clean room and great hospitality. Amenities like water and soft drinks are available in room minibar to be purchased. I love the interior giving me a premium vibe with see through minibar, usb port to charge phone, touch sensor mirror light in bathroom and really nice modern premium fitting.Location is perfect as it right in the middle of downtown and close too all restaurants ,souvenir shops,bank,pharmacy and grocery store. You can walk to petra visitor centre and it will take about 20 to 30 minutes downhill and taxi back would only cost 3jd.The host Motaz and his uncle had been so nice to me and make me feel so welcome during my stay. Motaz go extra mile for his guest and very friendly .

This hotel room can easily be rated 4 star hotel by Middle Eastern hotel standard, unfortunately it does not have lift.But not to worry the staff here will help you with the luggage. The bathroom might be a bit small if you are obese otherwise i just love the interior.The interior designer have done a really good job.

I wish there was a Moses Residence everywhere I've visited or ever will visit! Whether you want to keep to yourself or make friends, this place has the perfect balance. The owner MADE my time in Petra. Had he not been so helpful, I could have wasted so much time without his advice. The mini-bar type system was incredible (and very reasonable!) after long hikes and so on, a spectacular view from my room over Wadi Musa. The Petra visitor centre is 15-20min walk downhill, a taxi back up was handy, but through the owner, transportation was a joy, easily arranged through WhatsApp. The highlight of my week in Jordan, in the top 3 places I've stayed in all my travels, incredible value for money, couldn't recommend enough.

The hotel owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The hotel is beautiful - everything is brand new and sparking clean. We also loved the location. Unlike hotels located right at entrance to Petra/the visitor center, we found being more centrally located in Wadi Musa (and still within walking distance of Petra) was much better in terms of the selection of restaurants. I would highly recommend staying at Moses Residence in your trip to Jordan (also - having written this in 2024, Jordan is currently being negatively impacted by the neighboring war in Gaza. I would encourage anyone considering a trip to Jordan to not write it off due to this. Jordan actually has a relatively 'safe' rating with for example US State Department and Canada's travel advisory system and we found it to be an extremely safe country to travel in).

Moses was great. Incredibly friendly. The rooms were clean. The hotel is up the hill from the main Petra development, so you'll probably want a taxi to get there and back, but there are plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel. It was good value for money.

The bathroom was a little run down. The bin for used toilet paper had no lid, so the bathroom got a little smelly. We were on the top floor and there is no lift. When we were leaving, Moses impressed upon us the need to give a good review and wanted me to do it while he watched. I said I'd do it later and he became quite insistent, but I held my position. I'm writing this 3 months after my visit as a result.
