The entire hotel was very well presented with friendly staff and all round great service. The food service is upscale so be warned. The food was excellent overall. Great beach and splendid pool. Service was efficient and always with a smile. I like breakfast and dinner the most here. Entertainment in the evenings were awesome. Hotel and beach were picture perfect. The hammock in the room balcony is a welcomed touch.

Paying to use beach or pool cabanas is not cool when you thought you were at an all inclusive. Further not being able to book the use of these facilities with the "app" adds injury to insult. Some drinks were not up to mark- check the Johnny Walker Black out as it was watered down in the bottle...definitely the wrong colour and odour for authentic stuff. Upselling all services at a 5 diamond resort is a little odd I think. Finally, the Playa Collection thingy can really take away from your vacation. I suggest vacationers read their contracts very carefully if they decided to join that vacation club.

Location, service, pool, beach

Food options were limited. There were no lounge chairs directly poolside (and limited ones at the beach) unless you paid extra for a cabana that came with 2 lounge chairs (expensive). Sort of felt like 2nd class citizens being shoved to the back of the pool area.

The Hotel is perfectly situated in the Hotel Zone with many amenities nearby and some clubs at night, and also 20min from the airport. Now about the Hotel itself, we could'n have asked for more as it has 5 excellent restaurants with a mix of Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and a buffet. Also, they have 2 main bars that stay open until late. Entertainment every night in the lobby with different shows and sometimes food and drinks while you enjoy it. During the day, at the pool and the beach, there are activities planned by the amazing entertainment team (some names as Gio, Brian, Sara, Nina as many more!) such as bingo, aqua fit, cycling, volleyball and pool parties! You also get drinks delivered to your cabanas or sunbath chairs by the waiters which is amazing! We would like to thank all the staff that were always there for us, helpful, polite, friendly and always with a smile and making conversation with us! Some names are Daniela, Janet, Fernando, Fabian. A big shout out to Samanta Sanchez that is the hostess of Spice and Bonnie from Asiana that had an amazing energy and always friendly towards us. Our concierge Rosa was always present for us, not only when she was there but many requests and questions we raised via Whatsapp were promptly responded by her and Paulina. The room was comfortable, great size and the view was breathtaking of the pool and the sea.

Room next door was under construction. Was a little loud after 10am but we understand updates are always needed. New fire alarm system kept going off in our room the first two nights before it was totally disconnected. We were offered a different room.

For food, the Spice Buffet and the Marie Maria (Mexican restaurant) were the best. The buffet had fresh food and good variety - I especially liked that they had a daily Asian-style breakfast, it was a nice touch! The fish was the highlight. We also really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant as we had the opportunity to try some new Mexican cuisine and the server was knowledgeable and friendly. The tepanyaki show's host was also very entertaining. The beaches were kept clean and as was the pool. The pilates reformer courses were also great.

While we had an overall positive experience, there were some things that would have really made the 'five-star' experience. For example, we had four guests in one room, so having it set up with 4 sets of linens, towels, robes, four glasses for the sparkling wine for check-in would have been appreciated. Sometimes the restaurant and poolside servers were a little too fast at cleaning up after us, so having a 'do not disturb' sign or something similar for food would be good! Finally, some of the bathroom tiles and floor tiles were cracked in the room, but I imagine this will be addressed in the upcoming renovations.

The view from the swimming pool and my room are both amazing !!!! Also I loved the Pilates class! The instructor Dianna was so fun so that went to the class in the following day. If you like exercise, I highly recommend you to go to this class! My favorite restaurant is Vista the one by the pool. Staff were all really friendly and nice as well as the food was good. Spa is another amazing element there. It is well organized and established so thus is must try!

The restaurant, Asia was not so great. If you are non Asian, then I believe you would not mind but it was more like Americans trying to cook Asian food. Honestly this cooking needs an improvement but staff there were all really nice and friendly.

The hotel is very well located, and the rooms are exactly as shown in the photos. The Pohl Beach was truly fantastic. We only tried the breakfast briefly since we mostly ate out, but there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Everything was fantastic. The selection was excellent, and the fresh juices, which can be made to order, were a real highlight. The beach itself is very clean and well-maintained, with daily cleaning to keep it in perfect condition. The staff are friendly, efficient, and very helpful. The beach loungers are also in excellent condition. All in all, a wonderful stay!

Some all-inclusive hotels will lack in one of the mealtimes but this one was OUTSTANDING with EVERY SINGLE MEAL!!! Simply stellar service and food every hour, every day.

Representative(s) who push when giving you the "coupon book" and want you to sit in on the 1 1 /2-hour speak about additional discounts etc. We expressed that we had no interest in it AT ALL. But were pressured repeatedly to attend. Please don't decide our time when it is so precious. If one chooses to attend, he/she will, do not pressure. Thank you.

This is an exceptional place. The service was outstanding ( Joaquin, the server at the Mexican dinner was excellent, as well as Lenny in the beach area, Brian, Guadalupe and all the rest of the spa, Saul at the front desk . In general, all the staff were superb. The food was delicious specially in the Vista, Spice, Maria Marie and Asiana. The spa was a very relaxing experience. This place is heaven on earth.
