Starting from the outside, there are two first-come, first-serve car parks in front of the hotel. Rooms are clean, big and have decent amenities (free soap, dental kit). One prayer mat is provided. They also gave two bottles of water and two cans of soft drink in the fridge. Bathroom/toilet is big and there's a clear separation from the beds. Hot water is nice and immediate (don't have to wait for water to heat up). There's also TV and hair dryer, but we didn't use them. Location is quite central, near Pekan Rabu and other attractions. You can pay the deposit either by cash/QR, which was refunded almost immediately after checking out.

I would have given this place an easy 9+/10 if not for one thing: the soundproofing is super bad. Like not even exaggerating. A normal conversation down the alley sounded like they were talking outside your door. It is actually worse if you get the balcony room (street-facing) since the nearby club will have live performances close until midnight. Other general comments, but not an issue for me: 1) Not very mobility friendly. Several flights of stairs to get to the room. 2) Located in Pekan Cina area, so need to walk further to get Halal food. 3) Staff will leave after all the guests have checked in for the day. 4) The wooden floors are very creaky.

It was in a cute heritage area but most landmarks are walkable from here anyway, ample street parking available. Overall a chill vibe spot

The stairs are exposed to rain and can get slippery. There were no lights at the koi pond walkway, anyone who is a slightly drunk would surely fall in. The toilets were exposed with no separate exhaust fan/ ceiling . Good to stay if you enjoy smelling poop from your bed.

Swimming pool a bit small. Not much info on Alor Setar available. Would have been nice to have kettle in room (hot water available in reception). Only 3 coathangers

No breakfast. The room was as expected and good value for the price paid

Music playing late at night, not from the hotel but from outside venue. We paid a deposit for our stay which would be refunded. When we were leaving at 09.30 the staff on duty was unable to repay the deposi5 due to no cash in the safe As. We had a train to catch another customer refunded us the money which hopefully they were refunded.

The room and bathroom were spacious and clean, shower and toilet worked well, and the bed was comfortable.

1. There's a karaoke bar a few doors away, and you will hear the singing and music in your room. If you need peace and quiet to sleep and/or you're a light sleeper, this hotel is not for you. 2. If you want hot water for a shower and not lukewarm water, tell management. I complained about the lukewarm water and a staff member said the water was solar powered but that he would turn on a switch (presumably he meant the immersion heater), and I had hot water from then on. 3. Make arrangements in advance if you need to check out or check in outside their working hours. The reception desk is unmanned after 10pm and I'm not sure what time they start work in the morning.

Great bed, love the aesthetic of the place, location close to everything, air conditioning perfect.

It’s the little things isn’t it? Bits of rubbish in the hallways we and most definitely the staff walked over for days, unsightly stuff left under stairs , only one glass in room, no tea cups. Staff were nice but looked bored and disinterested perhaps because they are under paid? Why no water filter? so more and more plastic bottles.

The location is very good, it is located in the old town and Chinatown of Alor Setar surrounded by cafes and restaurants. The bedroom and the toilet are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and they even have an essential oil diffuser in the room. Our room comes with a balcony with seating, which would be nice and relaxing if the weather is not too hot. The staffs are friendly, cleanliness is good.

The aircon seems to need to be changed, we face water leaking in the middle of the night, hope they could constantly check and maintain all the aircon in the rooms. Because there is no hotel staff after 10 pm until the next morning. But we can still contact them thru the hotel numbers.

Unique property with historically sensitive renovations. Located in center of Alor Setar with easy access to Pekan Rabu, Masjid Zahir and Aman Central Mall.

No in-room kettle. Toilet arrangement with no door separation is not ideal. Very few eating areas that a Muslim friendly with late opening hours (11 am). No parking area. Frenetic public street parking.

Loved the decor/ conversion of the shop house- v stylish. I really liked the little roof top pool to cool off and good view of the town. The bed was wonderfully comfortable.

All good! I would have liked a kettle for early morning coffee, but that's all. Otherwise, very happy with my stay, thank you!

creaking floors when you walk. loud music from a nearby bar/restaurant till late night. should provide at least 2 complimentary toothbrushes instead of the paying box in the room. and provide more shower gel instead of the small bottles given.
