The room was nice and very spacious. The breakfast spread was very wide and we were pleasantly surprised as we were not expecting such a variety. And the food was very tasty. The location was excellent as there is a Lotus Supermarket right across the road and there are many shops like Family Mart and Cu just within walking distance. The staff are also very helpful and suggested many places for us to eat.

The initial experience was not so welcoming as the lobby was quite hot and stuffy as the air conditioning in the lobby was either not working or not turned on.

The bathroom was tidy, with good water pressure and basic toiletries provided. It felt cozy and relaxing, perfect for both leisure and business travelers. Breakfast: Breakfast was served buffet-style with a variety of local and international options. From nasi lemak to cereals, pastries, and fresh fruits, there was something to suit every palate. The food was fresh and delicious, and the dining area was bright and welcoming. The staff were attentive and ensured the buffet was replenished regularly. Location: The location of Grand Alora is one of its strongest points. Situated close to the heart of Alor Setar, it provides easy access to popular landmarks like the Alor Setar Tower and Zahir Mosque. For shopping and dining, Aman Central Mall is just a short drive away. Additionally, it’s conveniently located for those traveling by car or needing access to public transport.

Breakfast Variety: Although the breakfast was decent, it could have included more options for vegetarians or healthier choices like whole-grain bread and fresh juice. Some more, the parking lot is to small for the 4x4 vehicles and MPV cars.

I had a very wonderful stay. I enjoyed the breakfast. I also appreciated how quiet it was at night. Parking was easy and convenient too.

At the check-in, I found the reception staff to be quite unfriendly at first, which made the experience less welcoming. I was disappointed by how small the room was. However, I ended up paying extra to upgrade to a bigger and more comfortable room which I appreciated.

Overall, the hotel was ok.. Just a small incident where upon check in, room key card did not work & have to chg room. Was processed & given anoth room in a jiffy. Left my bag in the previous room & didnt realised until the staff that attended to us returned my bag when i have settled down at the new room. Very responsible & honest staff. Bfast buffet was decent. Checking out was quick & was sent off by friendly staff. Had a pleasant experience & would consider to come back to stay again in the future...

Still not enough maintenance and investment in this hotel. All tables need to be replaced in the ground floor restaurant; ground floor toilet still disgusting to use and needs major refurbishment. Hotel bedrooms pillow cases pillows looked very old & bathrooms need need majorI refurbished hope the owners will invest in 2025 to make the Alora - Grand again!

The location of the hotel is very strategic. Lot of stalls nearby The breakfast was amazing. Lot of choices and the food is quite delicious.

The bed is not a king size bed, it is a twin bed attached together. The aircond is not cold enough. Even the lowest temperature, i can sleep without the blanket. The room is lack of lighting. Need to install more lights on the ceiling i guess.

The receptionist and the restaurant staff were extremely friendly, housekeepers were helpful and responsive, they set up table lamp for us. Love the shower, water pressure was strong, air con was cold enough, breakfast buffet and dinner were tasty.

The light was too dim in the room, no ceiling light in the room. Room became very dark at night.

The room is spacious. The bed is very firm. The TV channels are very good. The city view is very good. Lotus's is just in front of the hotel and there are many shops nearby. The breakfast is very good with a lot of variety of food.

The room is not well lit especially at night. It is good to have a choice of brightness.

The breakfast have varies of options, good staff service which attend children needs (by giving kids's plastic spoon, cup and plate). The reception also good with communication.

The swimming pool should be close for a moment to clean up the "green" tiles underneath of the pool. It feels uncomfortable and bit unclean. Children like to swim there, it could cause any kind of infection if the pool is not taken care properly.

Clean, spacious room with good bed, pillows, linens. The quality of the breakfast was surprisingly top notch. The air conditioning is cold and lovely - a relief in a hot climate. The view from the window was easily the best view I've had in any hotel in Alor setar. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Check in was smooth, and early check in was well worth the small fee. Location is good - lots of restaurants, Maybank, 7-11 nearby. Tesco/Lotus mini-mall is across the street. Not far from city center Aman Central. Wifi is reliable. A spacious lobby that fits the hotel's 4 star rating.

Abit dark at night - extra light would be nice. The shower had lukewarm water in the morning, and no hot water at night. Might need fixing.
