Great location for an overnight stay. It's a bit far from the main part of town but very convenient, being close to the train station and the jetty to George Town. The staff were excellent and handled my check-in issues efficiently.

The main downside was the cleanliness—it wasn't the best, particularly in the bathroom, which could use some improvement. It worked as a last-minute option for the night, but the location was difficult to find due to limited signage. Thankfully, I managed to locate it in the end, but I have to dock a few points for these issues.

The owner is very helpful. Even though the check in time is from 2pm to 11pm, I check in about 12.30am, phone him and he was there waiting for me to arrive, Check in is fast and easy. Love the decoration in the hotel. Will book again.

Good place to stay if needing somewhere before train etc. Slight confusion when checking in as you need to phone when you arrive but the number didn’t seem to be on WhatsApp - difficult for international numbers… staff were very lovely and helpful. If any issues there is a shop around the corner who helped us out! Loved the map at reception where you can pin where you are from!

Our room was clean, airy and comfortable. The balcony was very nice to have, as well as the access to the terrace on the top floor. The beds were comfortable, the AC working properly.

The top floor is only accessible by stairs which wouldn't be a problem if I didn't injure my knee on day 1. Also the location isn't all that great, though there are still stores and eateries in walking distance, the neighborhood didn't feel as safe especially if you're a woman. The price after the discount made it worth it, though.

Great location near the art walk, comfy and clean. Rooms huge and TV in a good location can watch from bed. Amazing rainforest type shower. Nice smelling shampoo/shower gel. Easy to catch grabs to the bird park and shopping mall. Can walk to see the local chinese temples. Hot water/ irons available.

Only one toilet roll - provide two would be good.

Friendly and helpful staff. Liked the old vibes of the place. If you grew up in a 70s and 80s Malaysian home, you'd enjoy some nostalgia with the interior design they decided to maintain from when the time the building was up. Extra large bed was convenient as we had our 1 year old child with us. Bathroom and room floor was clean. Windows and curtains was not collecting dust. Bedsheets and pillow cases were clean. Hot water dispenser ay pantry was very convenient. It was topped up in the morning when I went to refill my flask.

A little tight to get into the road to their doorstep from the main road. Shower water didn't have much pressure, but still manageable. Would appreciate if some dish washing soap was placed at the pantry was area.

Their hygiene is very good, got smart tv to binge watch, wifi is strong, the room smells so good, the room is quite big considering the affordable price. All basic necessities are provided in the room ie shower gel, shampoo, mineral water.

If I really have to point out one thing, it will be privacy. You can hear some noise from outside but not too distracting.

cleanliness is the awesome stuff that i love and like about Aikka OYO Hotel!! i should and must say that it was the first budget hotel that we stayed and proven that not all budget hotel is bad and dirty! Aikka OYO hotel os absolutely clean and cozy. from the entrance to the room bathroom was super clean and well maintained which brought back some old Chinese style decorations.

I booked this late as we had missed the last ferry to Penang island. Stephen from Aikka was amazing. He went above and beyond to help us. Even calling us to make sure our journey was going smoothly. Communises excellent. Sometimes it’s not always about the accommodation but the staff that are willing to go that extra little bit. He even called us a grab and paid. Thank you Stephen

clean n comfortable room with classic design aircon funtion well will repete stay next time. got nasi lemak sedap selling near the corner and delicoius ayam goreng at mamak😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

water for hot bath quite slow but manage to shower. but got traditional kolam to tadah air for mandi.. also nice..😀
