Enjoyed my one-night stay at this secluded hotel located at the end of Jalan Wong Ah Fook, JB. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, including the bathroom. A nice touch was the free access to Netflix and YouTube, adding to the overall comfort. The location is convenient, as it is close to KOMTAR JBCC and City Square JB, with several dining options nearby.

However, while the location itself is strategic, the dark and quiet road leading to the hotel, even though situated behind a mosque, can feel a bit unsafe at night. Additionally, ongoing construction work in the area may affect the overall ambiance. Better lighting and clearer access to the hotel would enhance the experience.

This was my second time staying at Kingston Hotel, JB, for a one-night stay in the Standard Single Room. Overall, the experience was decent, with free Netflix once again being the highlight of the room.

However, there are two areas for improvement:- 1. Ventilation & natural light – It would be great if the Standard Single Room had a proper window with a view to enhance comfort. 2. Smell in the lift area – The lift area had an unpleasant odor; the hotel could consider using a solid aromatherapy air freshener or a scent diffuser system for a fresher ambiance.

I really enjoyed my stay here, especially the park area, which adds a lovely touch despite being limited to a first-come, first-served basis. The reception staff are warm, friendly, and soft-spoken. The room is spacious enough for two people, with a bed and pillow sheets that are impressively clean, soft, and look brand new. The bathroom itself is very modern, which I loved, but the shower gel provided wasn’t sufficient even for a single night’s stay—though it does smell great! The air conditioning works wonderfully, making the room comfortable throughout. Another highlight is the strategic location—right in the heart of the city and conveniently close to the mosque❤️

While there isn’t a mirror in the main room, the bathroom has an extremely large mirror that’s fantastic. That said, having an additional mirror outside the bathroom would be even better.

Value for money. For the amount that I pay, I can't complain much. I like the location for it is near JB Sentral. about a 8-10 mins walk. The shower water pressure is good and it warms up quickly. The room is basic and functional. I would stay here again if I am coming in solo and need to be near JB sentral.

The switch for the light above the bed was hidden behind the bed. So it took me a while to realise it and to finally switch it off because it was hidden by the pillow. So the design was not ideal. If the switches are moved to the bedside, it makes better sense.

Location: literally a stone throw away from CIQ and Komtar malls. Amenities: towels, toothbrush (+ a tiny toothpaste) and a dual hair/body soap provided No fuss. Good for a 2D1N stay... clean. Once in the building, good blast of aircon and calming environment gets you. #like

Couldnt automatically pinpoint a location for Grab to pickup/ alight but the lady at the reception provided us with the nearest location. Receptionist could have told us that the hand soap was also the hair/body wash during check in. We didnt have to then, purposefully come down and ask. Dont recall the room had a phone linked.

Firstly, the place was very affordable and conveniently located so we decided to try. Only less than 10min walk from city square, pass through komtar so not that far of a walk. Room was aesthetic and comfortable. The bed and pillows and blanket were super soft and comfortable. Room had water bottles and amenities and even had hangers. Floor not carpeted but slippers provided. Was worried about the mosquitoes after seeing the reviews, but i didnt see any mosquitoes and didnt get bitten but my partner got bitten once only. Everything else was good

Beside mosque so had the prayer sound but only for short while so still ok

Location is really good, 5min walk to haidilao, 10min walk to jalan wong ah fook old street, wifi is fast, tv can access youtube and netflix.

As there is construction directly outside the hotel main entrance, my friend and I had to walk through a dark alley to get to the hotel, especially at night. Hence I will not recommend girls or sole travellers to stay there due to safety reasons, as you wont know who or what is hiding in the dark alley.

Further to the earlier Bonus Question – You stated a preference during booking for a quiet room. Was Kingston Hotel 7 - Johor Bharu able to fulfill your request? * TOTALLY NOT * the Hotel's fault, but there were some very noisy hotel guests who were very inconsiderate; talking VERY LOUDLY and slamming doors; THEY woke me up several times late at night!!!!! : ((

I love it because they have Netflix and Youtube. The room is spacious and there are malls around the hotel too. Worth the stay!

The construction that are going on in front of the hotel, during our stay, made it hard for us to book for Grab. We had to walk to the main road for our Grab car, because of the massive construction going on right in front of the hotel.
