Loved the care and attention with everything. They even had a weighing scale to check your bags! Clean accommodation, comfortable bed, it’s on a main street so you hear some sound and not a very clean area but that’s not a fault they can correct. It was the personal touches that blew me away from checking in with us very morning, delivering milk when requested, early check in, providing recommendations for what to do, even pictures with prices and where to book. We absolutely loved the service via WhatsApp and the lady we initially met to check us in. The only reason I give it 9 is the area (not their fault) and the location being a little further away from jesselton point for the island hopping. Look no place then here to stay. I recently had the pleasure of staying at CJ Residence, and I must say, it was an great experience. The host was exceedingly attentive and caring, ensuring that all guests felt welcome and comfortable throughout their stay. The communication with the host was fantastic; they were always available and ready to assist with any needs or inquiries. An additional perk was the free luggage storage service, which was incredibly convenient, allowing us to explore the area without the burden of carrying our bags around. The hotel's location was ideal, situated within walking distance to delicious local food and shops. Overall, the combination of the gracious host, convenient amenities, and prime location made this hotel an excellent choice for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful stay! While the building is old and the stairs just weren't as nice, the apartment itself is a hidden gem. It was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was incredibly helpful, always ready to assist. They even provided a power bank, which was a nice touch. The location is perfect, right by the market, and the view from the window looking out onto the street was quite interesting, giving a real sense of the vibe outside. All in all, an excellent experience at a very reasonable price, especially for a short budget trip! Highly recommend!

The room was spotless. Tea bags and coffee packets were provided, as well as toiletries. They will give 2 bottles of mineral water every day, which is very nice. Wifi was fast. I also like the socket that they have-universal socket. It is suitable for foreigners to charge their phone or laptop.

I didn't like that the room offered does not have a window. I wished to be informed earlier so I could make a decision. The room is not soundproof, so expect to hear noise from outside or from the next room. It was not that bad, tho. I had 2 lugages, so it was a struggle to bring it upstairs.

We had an excellent stay there. Owner works so professional. It was a surprise for us the so quick and accurate responses. Room has everything inside and the location is perfect too. You can even walk to ferry port and night market is two minutes away.

I think it would be more fair to write the word no window with capital letters on the title of description of room. For example i hadn't noticed that there is no window. In our room there was a massage chair. For us it wasn't usufull and we would prefer more free space. There are a lot of massage shops around, price 60-70 myr.

The people who run this place embody the spirit of hospitality . Nothing is ever a nuisance for them and they do their best to accommodate your needs . I accidentally booked a room without windows in hurry and when I informed them they upgraded me to a room with windows which was more expensive but they didn’t charge me extra . The furnishing is nice and the room is very clean . The host response very fast and the staff are nice

Honestly this is not a big deal at all it’s more of a recommendation for future improvements. It would be great if you could make the TV a smart TV

Accommodation at central location, less than 5 min walks to the Filipino market, eateries and shops. Cozy and comfort room, clean, fully equipped including phone charger and a massage chair! No receptionist but very responsive and caring host/customer service team to guide you on the check in process and needs.

CJ is located at the 3rd floor of the shop lot unit and you need to walk up the stairs with luggage. Might need to request for assistant for luggage if needed. You may get some noise from group/guests who speaks loud on corridors occasionally.

Great value hotel, good location and nice amenities. The room was really pretty and there are lots of helpful extras such as water, toiletries, coffee/tea, phone charger, etc. Great view from the floor to ceiling window but you do get a bit of traffic noise until late due to it being a busy neighbourhood our hood; nothing that earplugs can't deal with if you need an early night though, and you can request a rear room. Good shower, with plenty of hot water. I liked it so much that I booked an extra night after climbing Kinabalu and heading to Sarawak. The surrounding area and beach looked really nice, but I didn't get the time to explore much.

Just be mindful that you have to climb a few flights of stairs; not a problem for me initially, but I was hobbling on my second stay after I'd climbed Kinabalu :(

Best place we’ve stayed at in Malaysia so far. Great location - right next to the KK night market. Really nice, clean room with so many amenities! Water, fridge (for all out market goodies) slippers, iron, + thoughtful details like an umbrella, and much more. All presented beautifully with nice ribbons and packaging. The hosts were very attentive, helpful and kind. They made sure that our every need was addressed. They even accommodated for a slightly later check out due to some issues we had. Very updated look + free upgrade to a window room. It is easy to see they take great pride in their accommodations and a positive experience for their guests. Loved our stay here and would come again.

Can be a little noisy, but ear plugs were supplied so it wasn’t an issue.

property was very well placed for my work, where I had to go between various administration buildings, and so was very central. my room was incredibly clean, and it was very quiet (couldn’t hear the other rooms). wifi was solid for when I needed to work from home and otherwise was a great staging point for when I was out all day. this place is great if you want comfort but won’t be in most of the time, so no need for additional features (which saves you money!)

needing to use whatsapp to contact the owners can be very useful when settled in but is stressful when trying to first gain access, since there is no physical reception area. if you have a local SIM this largely solves the problem. lack of windows in my room made it slightly claustrophobic but since I was out most of the time it wasn’t a big deal, plus is what I paid for!
