The room we stayed with back balcony: mountain view & garden view and front wooden patio was clean, bed & pillows were comfortable enough. Filtered drinking water, both hot & cold were readily available. Hot water for shower was also readily available. Rooms were tidied up daily too. Convenience store is also available. Surrounding areas, and sitting shelters were also kept clean. Yes, when there is no mist, Mt Kinabalu can be seen clearly from balcony !Beautiful view!

Understand that we cannot expect a wide spread of food for breakfast but hopefully, lodge can improve quality of food. Just eggs, hardboiled or fried made available; either fried rice OR noodle(no need both), include sausage, etc. All can be in small quantity.. am sure guests will be reasonable in the quantity taken. Maybe Breakfast staff on duty is stressed but can be more friendly ...

Room #22 with the Mountain View - you were given a sneak peek of it from time to time, so worth the wait! Simple breakfast of fried rice and fried rice noodle (bihun) with coffee or tea - enjoyed with other visitors - we got to talk with a family from Singapore and compared notes on our travel. We are Muslim (with my 5 yo girl) so kind of scared of being touched by the friendly dogs. There is hot and cold water provided, but you need to balance them nicely otherwise - ouch!! We had the whole house to ourselves with a family of 7 adults. The view of the mountain was right outside our doorstep. Easy to find this place as its right beside the main road, no steep hills climb needed. As Willie's guesthouse (and Willie's cottage) is on higher ground, we had an amazing view of the mountain, sunset and treated to a sky full of stars at night. The accommodation is decent, clean and has all the necessities. We were also able to borrow board games and played at the outdoors patio, enjoying the cool breeze and fresh air. There are also friendly neighborhood dogs keeping you company. The breakfast is simple, with a nice view of the surrounding garden and lush greens.

If you're a light sleeper, the sounds of passing cars might be a distraction

The majestic view of mt. kinabalu early morning from our room. You can see the mountain right from your bed. You feel like staying in the rainforest because you can hear the chirping of the birds when you sit outside.

The room is not sound proof. People on the other room can be heard when they talk. You need to walk downhills abit to get into your room.

The Union room is quite spacious and very clean, the bathroom is clean as well, the location is near the town, the staffs are helpful

The water heater is not working, had to boil water for bath. The floor is not flat, quite concern if the footing is not right, though we know it is on a hill slope. The Lodge kitchen is not clean, very concern about cleanliness and health, not sure if the food is halal-certified.

The stay was at a very nice location and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful, whenever we had a problem, they tried to help us the best they could.

The facilities were a bit inconvenient since the shower was cold, there wasn’t a proper place to shower and the door had a gap on the top so everything can be heard.

We had a private room which had an amazing view of the mountain. There was plenty of luggage space and area to sprawl our things out which is nice when you're preparing to hike. The shower was also nice and large.

The rails on the balcony were a bit unsafe. The gap between the floor and the lowest rail was a bit too high for our toddler to be walking on the balcony. Minor detail that would only affect us. Although the property is only 1.6km from Kinabalu Park, we couldn't walk it because there was no footpath/walk way. You'd be walking on the verge or behind the guardrail along the highway. We had to take a taxi which was 25RM each way.

friendly and informative staff. Location was perfect. Super peaceful and relaxing. Had the best sleep here in the 2 months of travel in Malaysia. Free decent breakfast and all you can eat. Arranged bus for me back to kk. Some good restaurants were recommended very tasty

We initially went for the cheapest budget room, but ended up upgrading on arrival - which I’d strongly recommend, it’s a small difference in price but huge difference in the room! Staff were lovely, location was great for the national park, fantastic view from the balcony and good breakfast

The place is close to the mountain, though not within walking distance, less than 4min by driving. The toilet is inside the room, there is no hot water from heater (normal in the kundasang area, i guess the water is too cold to be heated up). There was kettle in the room and I ended up boiled the water for showering. The staff was friendly, I borrowed hair dryer from the receptionist and the counter also helped me to print my self-check in confirmation letter for mountain climbing.

I stayed at the ground floor and I could hear the movement and snoring from upstairs, didn't get good sleep at night. The door cannot be closed completely as it seems to not to be levelled. Do bring long sleeves as it could be quite cold at night.
