The Shipwrights is hosted by Roland and Mariella who were both fabulous hosts and being local, very helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was perfect for our needs including a kettle (tea and coffee making facilities), all power points were UK so no need for adaptors. The room had a hair dryer, an iron and ironing board, a small key safe and ample wardrobe space. The shower was great and very hot. The breakfast was mainly continental, but you could order hot dog sausages, boiled eggs and bacon if required, toast, various jams, a selection of ham and cheese and yogurt, great coffee and juice. More than enough to start the day. The Shipwrights is a boutique Hotel with coded rooms and end entrance (although full keys are provided). The location is perfect and just far enough away from the main area to allow a great peaceful night’s sleep. Marsaxlokk is the perfect location to travel the Island and a beautiful working fishing village with numerous restaurants and cafes.

English breakfast, heated in the microwave. The nearest beach is very dirty, there is a lot of garbage, although the sea is clean.During the week we lived in the hotel, the bedding was never changed, even the one that was obviously dirty.A small village in which it is good to stay for a few days. Being there for a week is boring and not interesting

Great location on the waterfront, beautiful view of the harbor, great spot to watch all the activity from the balcony - perfect with morning coffee or relaxing in the afternoon with a book. The rooms are very nice, with clean modern furnishings. Comfortable bed and really nice bathroom. This place is small but beautifully and efficiently designed for comfort. Small touches were appreciated - adaptors, tea kettle, bottle of wine and corkscrew, clothespins. They’ve thought of everything! The breakfast buffet was basic, with a small selection of hot dishes on request, and excellent cappuccino! Mariella and Roland were kind and helpful hosts. We enjoyed Marsaxlokk with its many seaside restaurants offering fresh seafood, and the daily market. Overall a very enjoyable stay, and I recommend Shipwrights Lodge without hesitation!

We always ate well for breakfast. The owners had a pleasant chat with us. We liked the small size of the Guest house, the peace, the cleanliness, the comfortable bed and the wonderful bathroom. And a balcony with a view of the city and the harbor with colorful boats. We recommend it. We parked our rented car on the street below the room, it was always free.

Definitely recommended!! A lovely family owned hotel with a lot of personal touch. Check in and check out is straightforward. The location is great, plenty of parking, several restaurants and a supermarket are in walking distance. The room is well equipped and has a great balcony with a sea view. Roland & Mariella did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. It was a pleasure to chat with them, they gave a lot of useful advise and helped us to plan our days in Malta. Thank you for the hospitality. Will make sure to book again in our next visit to Malta!!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Friendly, very kind and very helpful owners. Even before arrival I received thorough information with everything we needed to know. Mariella helped us book a taxi and even packed breakfast to us since we had to leave to airport at night time. Roland gave us many tips on where to go and how to get there. Nice atmosphere. Good breakfast. Beautiful and clean rooms. Comfortable shower/bathroom with body soap, shampoo and conditioner. There was even a diffuser for the air dryer! Wifi connection was fast. The location is just perfect right opposite to the harbour. I would book a room with see view next time.

The superior double overlooking the harbour with a small balcony was fantastic. The bed, the shower, the bathroom, the tasteful decor, daily cleaning, fab location and towel replacement was second to none. One of the best guest houses we have stayed in Breakfast was excellent. Prepared fresh everyday and could be eaten in your room or in the breakfast area. We pre-ordered our breakfast the day before and Roland and Mariella brought it to our room at the time requested. There is so much choice of items and nothing was too much trouble. Quantities were plentiful and presented beautifully. Roland and Mariella were fantastic hosts, everything you need is here. Umbrellas for the beach, sun screen, a fridge in the room, air con, huge bed, balcony, electric plug adapters everything...... R & M were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, lovely people. We hired a car whilst we were in Malta, parking opposite the guest house was easy and plentiful. Marsaxlokk is one of the prettiest places in Malta, the old traditional harbour alongside the modern one is an amazing place to stay within easy reach of the rest of the island.

We booked the accommodation for friends as a honeymoon. The communication with the The Shipwright's Lodge was absolutely excellent. Roland & Mariella was very frendly and kaind, ethey prepare a nice small surprice for our newlyweds . Many questions before answered:-) Many thanks again. Our friends were excited about the stay in The Shipwright's Lodge. They evaluate the accommodation very positively. They were very satisfied with the easy arrival and accommodation in the late hours, breakfast in the morning even without the possibility to choose the day before due to the late arrival last winter. The breakfast menu was very wide and it was possible to chois what they wanted. Breakfast was very tasty. Accommodation cosy clean, beautiful bathroom. Enought for couple for a few days. Accommodation in the center on the waterfront a short distance from the bus stop. nice sea and harbor view. Several restaurant nearby. Our friends recommend this accomodation

We loved this top floor apartment with super view over the harbour from the terrace. It had everything we needed for our six night stay- comfortable bed, spotlessly clean, some simple kitchen facilities (small fridge, sink and microwave) and a lovely outside space. Mariella was really welcoming, friendly and helpful.

A bit more variety in breakfasts would be good…

Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean and cozy. The balcony was really big,with an amazing view over the Harbour. The accomodation is placed really close to the restaurants, to the beach and the bus station. The breakfast was more than enough with everything you want. Thank You for your hospitality, Marilena.

The bed from the living room is a Little bit to small for 2 adults (for 2 kids or 1 adult is perfect).
