Nestled in the vibrant heart of Valletta, we discovered a true gem: the 66 Saint Paul's & Spa. From the very first moment, we were welcomed by attentive staff with warm hospitality that defined our entire stay. Our room offered us a dreamlike ambiance and a breathtaking view of the harbor and the "Three Cities". A small but delightful highlight was the rooftop pool, which invited us to take a refreshing dip after a day full of sightseeing. In the morning, a lovingly prepared breakfast awaited us in the hotel's stylish courtyard, where we started the day perfectly with delicious food and coffee. Breakfast had a very good selection of food. Coffee was great. Welcome drink on arrival. I am gluten free and they produced toast and gluten free muffins for me at breakfast.

The room we booked didn’t have natural ventilation. I am unsure this was listed in the description. The window could not be opened as it was just for light. The room temperature was set at 23 degrees and could not be turned off we were told. It was very hot and on our first night we slept with the door open as it was our only option. We asked to be moved the day after to a room with a real window and this was possible but it had a €25 upgrade per night. The second room was smaller, the bathroom was half the size but we could open the window. I didn’t complain earlier because we couldn’t see the room until a few hours later so I trusted the ‘upgrade’. Effectively €25 extra per night was for the air we could breathe.

We stayed at this hotel for five days in April. The breakfast was lovely, with plenty of variety, and we were additionally served coffee or tea at the table. We had our stay in the grand suite, the room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was cleaned everyday. The shower was very pleasant, and all necessary facilities were available! The staff was also incredibly friendly—nothing was too much to ask. You could approach them with anything. We were offered a welcome drink and some information about the history of Malta upon arrival. I personally requested extra air conditioning, and within 15 minutes, an extra fan was brought to the room. The location of the hotel was perfect. Close to public transport and to the ferry terminal. Also easy to reach by taxi. Valletta is a beautiful city full of history, and everything else on the island is also easy to access. The area around the hotel was peaceful and calm, which made for a relaxing stay.

The staff went over and beyond! Max on arrival was very informative and passionate about Malta. And another member of staff (unfortunately did not catch his name) helped us when we needed assistance during our stay due to a unexpected hospital visit! All other staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms were very comfortable - nice bedding, shower facilities and good aircon. The rooftop pool was lovely and we loved using this to cool down in-between / after exploring the beautiful city. The location, in my opinion, is the best in Valletta. The breakfast was fabulous and exactly as I would hope from a small, boutique hotel - lots of lovely freshly baked goods, nice fruit & juice and lovely made up oats and rice puddings. The freshly made espresso based coffees (at no extra charge!) topped off the lovely breakfast. Set us up for a day exploring!

This hotel is amazing. We have been lucky enough to stay in some fantastic hotels around the world and this hotel was a gem. The staff cannot do enough for you. We arrived early and asked to store our luggage and they gave us our room hours in advance of check-in instead. The breakfast was impressive with lots of options from cakes and pastries to mini omelettes, boiled eggs, meats and cheeses, fresh fruit and yoghurts, cereals etc. There was choices for all and breakfast presented absolute value for money and included an artisan coffee each morning. The rooms were great and spotlessly clean. The hotel staff gave great suggestions on where to go and what to see. They also arranged some tours for us which was do hassle free. There was no additional costs and the prices were the same if we had arranged them ourselves. On our last day we were told they could store our luggage and we could use the hotels sun deck, pool and spa to shower as we had a late flight. The hotel is right in the hub of Valletta with lots of tourist attractions within walking distance. We were also a few steps from the ferry to the neighbouring islands. Although the hotel is in the main busy harbour the hotel itself is quiet and tranquil in the evenings. This made sleeping restful. The hotel spa experience was also excellent and the treatments were first class. We are not the sort of people to go back to the same hotels, however this one was perfect for everything so we would not hesitate to come back again. Thank you 66 Saint Paul’s. You were amazing! The hairdryer was too hot to dry hair as there was no cool shot button.

Good location right in Valletta, nice small hotel nicely decorated but still retaining some of the old original building. Nice and quiet.

The bathroom needed attention, slight leak from either the base of the toilet or the shower. Seal around the base of the whole shower needed replacing, stained black in many places. One of the blockout curtains was hanging down, possibly the hooks were broken, this made it difficult to draw the curtain. Mini bar list was not in the room at the start of the stay, perhaps it should have been placed in the information folder.

Location - City Centre, at quite street. 15 mins walk from bus stop/Grand harbour. Staff - Friendly, very helpful. Breakfast - Very very tasty! Enjoyed to see the foods are prepared freshly in open kitchen. Room & Facility - Stylish, Very clean, So Comfortable, Well chosen interior including furniture, good quality of linens! Top mark for Rooftop terrace with pool! Overall, we loved this relaxed atmosphere of the hotel.

Not much. Only suggestion for improvement would be 1. Instruction for air-con & under floor heating in room would be helpful. (No window to open for fresh air in courtyard side room) 2. Kettle with few tea bags/herbal tea bags as addition to coffee machine & water 3. Recommended local restaurant list with simple map ( A list without map or address is not so useful)

Upon our arrival we were greeted by Maximilian, who was extremely helpful, had many tips and advices on how to better experience our first visit to Malta! He even provided us with historical information on the region and the language which really helped us appreciate Valetta even more. The hotel is centrally located, very near to the port and has many shops and cafes nearby. Most important sightseeings are within walking distance. Hotel was spotless clean, breakfast was delicious and had a nice variety. It was a short stay and we didn't have the time to visit the spa, which is a good reason for our next visit!

There was nothing that we didn't like

I liked the public areas of the hotel and also the roof terrace. The restoration of the building was obviously done with great care and at a huge cost, I appreciate that.

I was a little disconcerted that none of the rooms windows. I realise that the layout of the building makes this impossible but it didn't come across that way on the Booking site. It's a shame that the bar on the roof terrace isn't operational but can understand why. Perhaps an intercom could be installed to make ordering drinks from downstairs easier. Or even some nicely worded instructions on what number to call from the phone to place an order. The local staff were all very smartly presented, polite and courteous, the same could not be said for some of the employees from the far east who seemed kind of robotic and lacking and personality. I spoke at length to a couple of the interns at the property who were a credit to the island.
