The a la carte breakfast was really exceptional. The best omelet I've tried in a while. They let you order multiple meals from the menu. The pancakes were delicious. The location is excellent if you want to explore Valletta on foot. The hotel is charming as well, and the terrace is fantastic, given the limited space in such a town.

Nothing really. The bed could've been a bit more comfortable, but it is far from uncomfortable. It is located in the city center - it can get a bit noisy, although in November we didn't get sleepless nights over it. Do note that if you require absolute silence you are better off choosing a different location outside of Valletta for your vacation.

Location is very good, close to bars, shops, museums and sites. The staff at check out is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and attentive to detail. The breakfast in the restaurant is lovely too. The balcony is great located in a quiet street. I'm totally in love with Valletta

I am not sure about the smell of the perfume used in the hotel. But not a big deal at all.

Easy 24hr access. Staff were very engaging and polite every time we entered reception.Local recommendations were excellent. Rooms modern with plenty of storage space and room to move. Location was perfect for wandering around old city.

Absolutely nothing.

Really great location in the heart of Valletta. The hotel was peaceful and quiet, when closed the balcony doors you forgot you was in the heart of Valletta. The bedroom was big enough and the bed was nice and cosy. Daily room cleaning. The staff were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in Valletta. Add a picture to show the view at ground level outside the hotel. At balcony level can see across the harbour to Birgu.

Only minor comment is they could improve the options on the breakfast for those who gluten and lactose intolerance. Staff training to understand more about guests allergies. Partly our fault for not informing the hotel in advance.

Two years in a row in December I've had the joy of staying at this centrally located hotel in Valletta and both experiences have the thumbs up from me for excellent staff, stylish & clean rooms and a lovely breakfast experience. The Cumberland is right in the heart of Valletta's city centre (5 minutes walk from St John's Co-Cathedral, the main shopping streets, Merchants Street (with its bars, boutiques and restaurants) and the plentiful selection of bars for those wanting to kick back and relax (a recommendation for drinks would be Cafe Society under 5 mins away). The rooms in the hotel are clean, spacious and nicely designed. My first visit I enjoyed a high floor with balcony and the second was a duplex suite with seating area in a Mezzanine design. The staff/front of house are friendly and attentive and the breakfast in the hotel restaurant Grana has a wonderful selection of cooked/continental. I love Malta (almost into double figures the number of times I've visited) so I have no doubt I will be back again soon and when I do I will certainly pick the Cumberland.

Nothing to dislike - If I could offer one suggestion to the hotel it would be a bit more 'in-room' information - some magazines/reading material would be welcome and also a bit more on the hospitality tray.

Breakfast was delicious, staff very friendly happy and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean. They left rose petals, wine, a card and towel art out for our wedding anniversary :) Excellent location.. walkable to anywhere. We enjoyed the roof top hot tub too. We also used the free access to Aqualuna in Sileima for a few hours one day too which was a lovely thing to do whilst the sun was out. We had lunch there too.

It was a little tired in places, but they were in process of decorating and doing it up, so I'm sure that was all going to be sorted. Was nothing that would stop us returning! Our room didn't have a window!

The hotel is in the very center of Valletta (next to the cathedral, whose bells can be heard in the room every quarter of an hour). It is located in a nice street, but despite the second floor and often closed windows, you could hear people from nearby bars. However, in Valletta, to have a quiet room you would have to live on the outskirts, as the evening/night life is very extensive. The hotel is nicely decorated and clean. We had a large room, also nicely decorated on the second floor with a window to the street. Wifi works very well, we were given a Maltese snack and a drink to welcome us. Breakfast is à la carte, but huge, as you can theoretically order everything. The portions are large. The speed of serving depends on the service of the day: once fast, once very slow, but the food is really delicious. There is a rooftop terrace with a view and a Jacuzzi.

In general, the bathroom next to the room was relatively small compared to the size of the room and there was a strange smell in it (maybe from the pipes, maybe cleaning products). In the shower it dripped from the rain shower head and it was unpleasant when taking a shower. I put a bathing cap on the rain shower head, which filled with water after a while. We stayed that way to keep the cleaning crew guessing, but the cap was on the entire time. Thin walls in the room. Unfortunately, at night we could hear the neighbors returning after the party, as if they were in the room with us. This is not influenced by the hotel, but in general it is dark in the room during the day, because the streets are narrow and house by house.

We had an amazing stay! Very cute and small hotel in the old town of Valetta, many restaurants close by. The free refill of the coffee and water every day was a plus. The receptionists were super welcoming, thanks especially to Santiago!

The breakfast staff was not very friendly. You order breakfast a la carte, but the staff especially Raphael makes you feel like you’re a burden if you order an extra cappuccino. Also breakfast is until 10.30, but if you want to order shortly before 10.30 they tell you that the kitchen is already closed.

Valletta’s hilly terrain can be a bit challenging to navigate, but The Cumberland by NEU Collective is perfectly situated for convenience. Most of the town’s attractions and the ferry terminal for island hopping are just a short walk away, making it an ideal choice for exploring the area. The staff truly elevated our experience, with a special shoutout to Santiago, who welcomed us warmly upon arrival and remained a cheerful and helpful presence throughout our stay. Employees like him are a real asset to any hotel. The breakfast was another highlight—undoubtedly one of the best we’ve had, offering a wide variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. In summary, The Cumberland combines a prime location, exceptional service, and a stellar breakfast, making it a great choice for a stay in Valletta.

Wonderful location, amazing and very helpful people, delicious food. The employees were very kind and they did their best in answering all of our questions. The hotel was extremely clean and at the center of Valetta. Breakfast was included in our stay. Delicious food and you can choose whatever you want. We needed to clarify if they were sure that breakfast was included in the price:) I highly recommend the hotel. We decided to go to Malfa again and for so sure we will stay at the same hotel!
