It's exceptional as it's elegant but understated. It has a lot of charm, and from the moment you walk in the door, you feel like you're in a beautiful refuge. It's not trying to be hip or, worse, be some club. If I want to go out dancing and hang out at a bar, I will go. But who wants to navigate with their luggage through a nightclub scene? It's just weird. I don't want to walk into the lobby hotel and feel like I've just entered some hyped-up single scene. The rooms are comfortable and quiet, and they have a relaxing feeling because their decor does not shout at you. The bathrooms are large, and so are the tubs, so you want to indulge in a soak. Or go up to the terrace on the roof and look around at all the historic sites. But that is something I don't understand. They have this fantastic roof with a view up and down one of the main historic thoroughfares, overlooking the ruins of the Opera house; why not have a bar up there? It's extraordinary because it's like the owners lack imagination. After all, they have this incredible building, yet they need to learn how to bring it up to the next level and bring it to life. Yes, it's a place where you want to relax and unwind. It's in the middle of everything, but at the same time, once you walk through the doors, you feel secluded in a great place. The staff is incredible; they're very knowledgeable and personable and treat you like your guest, not just a number. That is what made my stay. The only downside is also that the restaurant is closed in the evening, which must be addressed. They used to have a popular restaurant but have yet to take advantage of their location. Suppose they had some tables outside and offered something casually elegant. I think many people would want to sit there instead of in some tourist trap. It's just a prime location for a meeting spot.

Exceptional location in a historical building on the main Valetta's street makes this hotel a unique place. The terrace on the third floor is a fanastic view-point and a place to sip coffee (if the weather permits, of course). The main bus station is very close and this is the gate to travel through Malta. The staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast options are numerous, so you would not be bored. The room was clean, functional, and calm. Super-comfy bed.

Noisy air-condition. Remeber that the hotel is located at a pedestrian street so for a taxi you need to arrange a pick up a few blocks away.

Great central location, on the main Republic Street (which passes the Cathedral and goes on to Fort St Elmo) not far inside the City Gate and near the central bus station. The staff are very friendly and attentive and deal with any issues quickly. The room we ended up in (after a move) was large and being on the 4th floor very quiet, with a view over the open air Theatre and towards the City Gate. A good selection for breakfast - cooked to order, not a buffet - and as much as you like. There is a sun terrace on the 3rd floor with a great view and they will deliver drinks on demand, or you can take your own.

We initially picked the Deluxe Suite (room 13). This is an original room in the Palazzo and beautiful but although it does indicate low ceilings in the details it was lower than I expected for an average height bloke that generally doesn't have issues with head height. For this room I recommend if you are above 1.75m then you think again and maybe just pick the Premium King like we moved to, which was large enough. It's also on the first floor facing a busy street (pedestrianised), so noise was an issue also.

Guests at Domus Zamittello are welcomed warmly. The hotel is in walking distance to many attractions, shopping, transport links as well an abundance of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Domus Zamittello offers an extensive breakfast menu. Dinners are very good too. The bedrooms are well furnished, beds are comfortable and the en suite bathrooms are well equipped. The higher floors are accessible by a lift. There is a lovely outside roof terrace.

There was a very bright green light on the control board for the AC/heating next to the bed, which was disturbing at times. An improvement of this would be appreciated.

Our room was beautiful and very clean. The hotel lobby was lovely and the staff very helpful.

The noise early morning from the street. Not the hotels fault but we looked over the main street. Also breakfast was ok but need to have a buffet so guests can help themselves. No bar.

One of the best places I’ve stayed in from around the world. It’s a charming boutique hotel full of character with large comfortable rooms in one of the best locations. The staff are incredibly helpful in every way. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always cheerful and smiling. They obviously like working there. I would return in a heartbeat! Huge comfy king size beds. You can even have the extensive breakfast in your room for no extra charge.

Domus Zamittello is not simply an upmarket hotel in a prestigious historical building. It is a place where every member of staff, under the masterly leadership of Mr Moul Hajjar, devotes every possible attention to the guests, making them feel welcome and welcome. In this hotel, we have been able to appreciate the highest value of Hospitality, in its oldest and noblest sense. The care and attentive listening that the staff devotes to guests manages to overcome any, even the slightest, imperfection. Also the breakfast service and quality of food is excellent. It will be a great joy to return again. We unreservedly recommend the Domus Zamittello, and the 5-star service that Mr Hajjar and his team offer their guests.

From the minute we arrived to the time we left all the staff were incredibly charming, attentive and kind, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. The hotel manager Moul shared many useful tips and recommendations which really added to the enjoyment of our time in Valletta. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bed, luxurious bedding, plenty of storage space and a well equipped bathroom. Breakfasts (not buffet) were freshly cooked and delicious with enough choice not to become boring, even though we stayed a week. The roof terrace seating area looked very inviting, but unfortunately for us it was too cool and windy to use it this time. What a great location for a hotel too…….very central but quiet (being on a pedestrianised street)

Excellent location, being in the center of old town. breakfast and services is great, they have very good breakfast menu option and the breakfast room is beautifully decorated. Beautiful lobby. Reception and check in is smooth and well managed. Thank you so much for the welcoming champagne!😊

The guest room is a little too small for 3 people, we have the “Premium Suit” with king bed above the living room. But we understood that this is an old residential building and have limited space to design around it.

The history and architecture of the hotel were stunning, I would even say jaw-dropping. The staff was amazing, always took the time to check in, and make sure we were comfortable and needed any help or recommendations. They always greeted us with a smile! The location was brilliant. It is very central, so even if you want to explore the rest of the island, Bolt/Uber and bus stops are right around the corner.

The breakfast was delicious, we just wished it was a bit more diversified... After 10 days, we felt we were always eating the same thing over and over, no matter how well-cooked 😅
