Perfect for us. Wonderful welcome from Tony, which set the pattern for our stay. Everyone did their utmost to combine 5 star service with a friendly feel. The facilities were exceptional for a small hotel. The pool was such a bonus in the hot weather. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented. If you preferred a Continental, then the variety was extensive. Nothing was too much trouble - travel advice and recommendations and always prompt attention to queries. We stayed in the beautiful 'Ecologica' which had a shower. Some reviews have mentioned that there was only a curtain across the room masking the bathroom area. What they have not said is that both the shower and toilet area are enclosed by glass screens behind the curtain. Very private and thus not a problem. Despite only having a window looking into the inner courtyard, this was mitigated by a lot of natural light. Peaceful location near to everything! Would recommend Palazzo Consiglia wholeheartedly.

What a perfect place!! From the lovely staff, amazing breakfast, attentive service, gorgeous and peaceful rooftop pool and sun beds, and spa in the rock hewn basement. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in - and I have travelled all over the world.

Nothing ( trying hard I’d only say that a kettle to make tea alongside the coffee machine in the room would be nice but hey I’m picking!)

Location couldn’t have been better in the centre of Valletta, close to restaurants and sites of interest, yet on a quiet street. The staff were exceptionally helpful and room service and breakfast couldn’t have been better. The building itself is very old, but beautifully converted. The basement spa made clever use of the underground space.

The only thing we were not so keen on was the enormous bathroom area which was open to the room. The loo just had a glass door, which didn’t give any privacy! There is a lack of natural light, due to the style of the building.

Great service, very polite professional and helpful staff. All of them, from the i chance to enjoy the facilities after the checkout, which is definitely a big plus! The limited number of guests allowed you to enjoy the place and the quiet environment. To be repeated! The place is to be recommended,in my opinion.

Overall, the room could have been better. Don't get me wrong: It has everything and it is clean, but... It's not worth €270 a night. It's medium size, not a single coat hanger, a part inside the wardrobe, not a chair. The room lacks of natural light, in my opinion. We didn't know we would have get a bath instead of a shower (I think the client should have been asked to give a preference, at least). The same bath did not work and flooded the whole bathroom and room. But this is not a big deal, issues can happen and the staff helped out. I think that the room isn't worth the money. Pretty average, compare to the rest of the hotel.

The staff is truly wonderful and professional, and they all make a great effort to provide the best possible service. The breakfast is abundant and diverse. The hotel is in a beautiful old historic building, which adds charm but also some drawbacks. Most rooms have very little light, and the windows mostly face the interior. The bed and pillow are very comfortable, but the bathroom could use some improvements, as our room only had a bathtub, and water constantly leaked onto the bathroom floor. Although very nice, the room lacked a desk and there was no kettle.

From start to finish this hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The staff were all so lovely and friendly, couldn't ask for better service. Location is perfect for exploring Valletta which is a lovely city. Spa was great as could book exclusively for yourselves for an hour each day. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

Feel bad writing this as the hotel and service from the staff was amazing but the only thing I'd change would be the shower over the bath as you had to hold it whilst showering. Also no door on the bathroom, just a glass panel and curtain. Wouldn't stop me staying at the hotel again and would still give 10 stars!

I stayed here in 2018 for 3 days and found it amazing and so decided to come back in 2024 - 6 years later - and stay in Malta for 6 days. I gave the hotel a 10 in 2018 and would give it a 20 if that was possible. Tony and his staff are just the best - outstanding. They have a philosophy that the guests are treated like family and it is actually true. The location is perfect, the comfort value is always measured by the bed and the room which is unbelieveable and it has a lift and a roof top terrace with a small pool which I loved after a long day touring the historical Malta. I would highly recommend this hotel - it operates with integrity and delivers an outstanding sevice in a great location. In casual conversation over the great breakfast -I asked others what they thought and all the comments and feedback aligned fully with my opinion. I will always stay at the Palazzo Consiglia when in Malta. Thank you.

There is nothing to dislike.

Without exaggeration, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The size of the room was impressive, with one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept on and every corner of the property was incredibly clean. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive to all our needs. They organised a couples massage for myself and my partner where we then got the facilities all to ourselves for an extra hour. Best indoor heated pool and steam room ever! 10/10 and would definitely recommend as you will not be let down and will stay at this hotel again in the future, guaranteed.

Honestly can't find a single thing to complain about.

Fantastic location, a few minutes walk from the centre of Valletta, but in a quiet side street. Beautiful building with lots of character, the rooms were very comfortable and all have their own unique style. The breakfast was superb, a comprehensive choice of continental, or various cooked breakfasts from the Al a carte menu. What made our stay without a doubt was the friendliness of the staff. I cannot praise them highly enough. They provided you with all the information you needed for places to visit, ferry and bus times, a list of recommended restaurants who they would call and book on your behalf. Every morning at breakfast they would ask what you were doing that day, showing an interest and providing you with help and tips. I have never met such friendly and helpful staff in the hotel industry.

We loved the location and the style of the property. The morning breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful with everything from tourist sites to see and how to get there to providing advice on where to eat. 24/7 service desk was great with staff available to assist with food and drinks when we returned late at night.The beds where very comfortable, and the rooms where quiet and dark. The roof pool area was terrific however could use more shelter from the sun.

We stayed for nine nights and the first room we stayed in was not practical, the cupboard whilst in the style of the room had little storage and no drawers or shelves. We were changed to another room which had better storage but the bedside tables had drawers which could hardly fit a pair of socks in (not practical). Our shower in the Retromondo room was great until you turned the water off , then a drip would persist for several hours which was a little annoying.
