What a charming place to stay when you come to Valletta in Malta. I was warmly greeted by Olena and so grateful to be allowed to check in early so I could start my adventure. The rooms are very well appointed and smartly designed in terms of space and decor. The location is quite good though there was a fair amount of construction when I was there to cause a few minor hiccups. Breakfast was very nice. Healthy options abound. Mark, the owner is truly one of a kind. Hopefully you get the chance to talk with him when you stay at The Barrister. He’s passionate about his work and has lots of information to share about Malta and the things to do. The Barrister is top notch. An excellent choice for anyone who is lucky enough to come visit Malta. Thank you so much.

We liked the size of the room and the free mini bar. The manager was very approachable and giving tips about our stay in Malta. The housekeeping crew and the lady during breakfast were really nice.

The first night we experienced some leakage from the ceiling but the next day we were offered to change our room. There was no big variety for breakfast, and it was the same every day. However you can always find something to eat. There is loud music from the bars during the weekend, but they offer earplugs. Lastly, we booked a transfer to the airport, but they did not mention that we had a baby and there was no car seat.

Honestly, the owner and their team made his hotel memorable. From the moment you walk in, you feel like a welcome guest and are treated well. The place is beautiful, and the owner continues to ensure it is so. The rooms are wonderfully decorated and spotless, but it's mostly how they make you feel. It's what a boutique hotel is all about, where you don't just feel like a number, but you feel like a welcome guest. Excellent location. The rooms are tranquil. I was lucky enough to stay once in the hotel room with the hot tub. I will tell you it's worth every penny because it is a magic spot with a beautiful lounge chair that fits maybe four... a hot tub with one of the most stunning views you'll ever see of the ocean, the cathedral, and the skyline. It's just gorgeous. The bathrooms are functional, modern, discreet, and spotless. The rooms are well set up for all your needs and have excellent beds. What else do you want? It's got everything you need and a great breakfast, and you're just happy to wake up and see everybody that day, so you're so glad to stay there. It's genuinely what defines a boutique hotel.

We had a very comfortable room, the warm welcome we received was lovely, the friendly knowledgeable and helpful staff. The delicious breakfast which was so fresh, great quality and plentiful. The immaculate rooms and attention to detail, thoughtful supplies of everything you would need like shaving kits, sewing kits etc. We were given lots of helpful information, recommendations and the great local knowledge was invaluable. We found the location excellent with lots to do, lots of nice bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. The best attractions were very close by.

Nothing, it was a perfect stay, thoroughly enjoyed by us both. It excelled expectation.

The staff was amazing, super nice and helpfull. The hotel was beautiful, location PERFECT. The privacy was amazing because the room faces a wall without any big windows. There was a lot of little complimentary things that made our life easier. Room was amazingly equiped with super usefull stuff like ironing board and iron, hair drier, TV with a bunch of programs, little electric kettle, esspresso maker with pods, milk and sugar etc.

The cleanliness wasn't really 4 star hotel standard. Towels had old stains, there was a bit of mould in the shower and the decorative pillows and throw had a funny smell to them. Also, the breakfast buffet got a bit boring after 2 or 3 days. All said, it didn't affect our holiday, we had a lovely stay.

Malta, and Valletta in particular, was a revelation! Lovely temperature at the end of September and a great atmosphere. This boutique hotel combined exceptionally friendly staff with a great location, in the heart of Valletta yet down one of the quieter streets. The lack of a restaurant was absolutely no problem as Valletta certainly isn't short of places to eat. Owner Mark was always on hand to offer helpful suggestions about where to dine or the best way to visit various locations, and his advice was spot on.

We found the levels of noise perfectly acceptable but Valletta is a lively place at night!

Location is closed to downtown attractions, the room was very clean and cleaned every day properly, complimentary snacks and sodas in the minibar, also free nesspresso coffee and water. Modern looking room with all the amenities for a pleasant stay Highly recommended for a family with children.

Hot water wasn't all the time hot it was getting cold after a few minutes, the selection for the breakfast is not to generous, and the noise from the bars but due to the location it is expected, it stopped before midnight and the hotel offers ear plugs.

Welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable room with plenty of amenities and location is really convenient for seeing the sites of Valletta. Well stocked breakfast was very much appreciated.

Our room on the third floor directly overlooked several bars which were loud until 1-2AM on Friday and Saturday night. Even with the windows shut (which made the room quite stuffy) and earplugs in, the music and shouting kept us awake. If we hadn't been checking out early the next morning, I would have requested to change rooms.

When the moment you step in, you feel like a welcome guest, and all the team members are have great personalities are friendly willing to help offering you a cup of tea whatever you want it just couldn’t be more delightful. The honor really sets an example of really wanting to engage with his clients and to make them feel at home and have an enjoyable stay in his hotel. It’s beautifully decorated. It is spotlessly clean. It has amazing views. It’s quiet and very centrally located.

My husband & I stayed here in Dec 23. Every aspect of our Barrister stay hit a high standard. It seemed as if the Barrister staff always did their level best to provide a gold star echelon of stay and service. Superb value for the money. The location is ideal, in midst of Valletta's old city center. Many key attractions & amenities within walking distance. We're older, in our 60's, and even with Valletta's sloping streets, we still managed to navigate around just fine. Reason being the Barrister's location was so ideally convenient. We spotted some comments mentioning street noise being loud in the evenings, which we don't fully understand. The Barrister is a centrally located, period building, surrounded by narrow streets in the heart of Valletta's historic tourist commerce areas. No different than a hotel similarly situated in other cities. Thus, realistically, street noise should be expected. In our case, nothing of that sort intruded upon our stay, which included time spent thru a weekend. Would we stay at the Barrister again and recommend it to others? Absolutely, without hesitation. A lovely accomodation, it definitely hit all of the high notes and more for our guest experience. We hope to return for a future stay.

All was good, found no downsides during our stay.
