Nice building, enough clean , 5min taxi to la Valletta, tarxien is cheap and friendly town

Dificult to comunicate. No answers on booking, 30 min waiting at 2300 o'clock, only messages no call phone (still puzzling me why ) The bathroom door was 1.60 mt , built on a step. Funny but .. 110 euro per night Room was nice stone built but very small , lamp not pluggable because broken, bed missing broken part of the structure, balcony with plants and pots forgotten (110 eu/night) , water missing in the bathroom the first day, solved kindly by the waitress with 2bottles of not drinkable water (110/night) . I mean.. I can't say it was a bad place but 110 per night for what it was, is really a bit of a joke

The house was really interesting, i always wanted to stay in such a house . Clean ,antique. I loved my room the bathtub was really nice . I don't regret staying here it was a really different experience. A house with many stories. But don't book breakfast.

Breakfast was not good, no options. The first day they even forgot we have paid for Breakfast. For the money i could have eaten outside with much better options. Availability was really difficult at first, until they contacted me later . And i would say it will be good the have some light in the hallway and stairs. Coming back late at night and walking in the dark to the room was not really fun.

The historic house is beautiful and very thoughtfully converted into a guesthouse. Room 9 was excellent with a large balcony at roof level, and attractive antique/vintage furnishings. The excellent bus connections allowed me to be in Valletta within 15-20 minutes for Breakfast at a cafe of my choice. Evening fish dinner at Marsaxlokk on the east coast also within 20 minutes reach by bus in the other direction. Quiet non-touristic location. Good bus connection , with one change, to airport. Staff nice and helpful after initial access problem. Easy walking distance to Tarxien neolithic temple. Good Wifi.

It would have been helpful if the access procedure would have been explained shortly after booking confirmation, in order one is aware to check e-mails/phone messages. The information folder in the room needs updating: it shows businesses which do not exist any longer; facilities in the guesthouse which are not offered any longer, e.g. access to microwave oven. The property website should correspondingly be amended. Cushions for iron chairs on balcony would have been nice. (For travellers: As far as I am aware Tarxien has no restaurants and cafes to speak of and hardly any food shops)

I liked the flowers around the windows at the front of the guest house. Inside, I liked the rustic feel with the more modern bathroom features. The breakfast was good as well. Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. It was a pleasant place to stay and I definitely would return in the future.

The doorways were a bit narrow so getting my suitcase through was a bit tricky but I managed it. I didn’t like having to bother the owner to ask for milk to be put in my room to have a cup of tea but, again that’s more my issue than a guest house issue.

Friendly human being at the reception. Possibility to store the luggage before check-in. Characteristic and historical building. Nearby ‘Patakkus’ good restaurant. Nearby bus stop and Temples of Tarxien.

No warm water coming out of the douche, tried everything. Very noisy beds :-). The breakfast… Coming out of a vending machine, not very warm/human being. Typical for the capitalistic word we live in. So I went to the grocery store and made my own breakfast. Better no breakfast than coming out of a vending machine.

Charming, renovated house, with intriguing network of hallways and staircases. Its style and decoration lend it a delightful rustic charm. It is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from both the Ħal Tarxien Prehistoric Complex and the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum. Furthermore, we found it to be excellent value. The staff were also very pleasant.

You must exercise caution when navigating the narrow, busy alley in front of the building.

The burrow is a unique space, really well considered decor. If you're looking for modern this isn't for you but if you want authentic accommodation it is ! The area is really quiet and relaxing but only a few minutes walk from the small town. We found a small local bar a couple of streets away. Nice to sit out and enjoy a cisk beer in balmy weather. The burrow staff were very friendly, I had great chats and laughs with Phoebe. I would definitely recommend it !! Top tips, get the 7 day bus pass at the airport, book gozo ferry online, visit Birzebbugia, lovely small beach, and Valletta, try the rabbit in the zitka restaurant, delicious !!! So much more I could add, the burrow offer great tips also.

Not a criticism of the burrow but there was a lack of restaurants in the area. The traffic lights café in the town is nice, we had breakfast there each morning. Great value too. If you get the bus to Marsaxloxx there are loads of restaurants to choose from on the sea front. There was no door separating the bedroom from the bathroom which was odd but we made use of the courtyard outside our room when needed 😁

The staff were friendly and even willing to provide information and sights to see around Malta. The charming room was kept clean all through our stay. The place has much more character than other local places to stay that have all become western amalgamations of each other. Leaving and returning is fairly easy with an electronic key system and no alloted times.

For those who are only traveling using the bus, the location is a bit isolated and will take some time to get in and out of for other tourist attractions, other than the Tarxien temples in the area. There are not too many places to dine out either since it is primarily residential only, so plan ahead. Still, this can also be an upside for couples or families looking for a quieter, more relaxing place to stay. Oddly there was no door or divider to the bathroom...is the only other thing I can mention. At least for room 2. Fine for couples but awkward otherwise.

My dream was to spend a night in a prince's room in medieval Malta. Staying at The Burrow Guest House made that dream come true. Everything was perfectly clean. King size bed. Possibility of a tasty breakfast and delicious coffee. I rate the stay excellent! Communication with the Owner was immediate it seemed so great that I felt She was waiting for my call.
