Whatever you do, don’t ask Michael or Eric any questions - in advance or on arrival - about Malta. They’ll end up going out of their way to recommend places to visit and help set an agenda for your entire stay. Don’t tell them what you’d like for breakfast or they’ll head off and have it cooked to order. Definitely don’t tell them you’d like breakfast up on the rooftop terrace, they’ll make it happen in a flash and do everything to make you feel comfortable. Don’t share your wonderful experience online, recommend to your friends and family and, in general, please don’t book or there will be no space for the rest of us. Thanks for understanding. 11/10

When one sees photos on various booking sights there's always a slight scepticism and nervousness at how the accommodation is presented and described. One then looks at the reviews and tries to determine if there is equally a bias or misrepresentation. But this is not the case at Senglea Suites ! My wife and I frequently (at least try to) seek out high quality Airbnbs, Vrbo, apart/hotel rooms; so Senglea Suites is up there as the best we've had in many years! The rooms are better than portrayed through the pictures (we had a Queen suite with balcony); the room facilities (fridge, coffee, tea and water) and hygiene very high; the roof terrace (fab views across the harbours) relaxing but above all else Eric and Michael the proprietors are the most welcoming "super hosts" you'll ever meet! They are always in contact with you thru WhatsApp; attend breakfast (continental with eggs - an awesome omelette) to ensure everything is perfect and answer all your questions around what to see, do, eat and drink. Every recommendation they gave us we took up and we were not disappointed. If you are looking to stay in Malta don't be put off by not being in Valletta. The Senglea Suites are on the Isla peninsula. Water taxis are plentiful to take you to Valletta and the restaurant scene in Isla is better with many situated along the quayside- which is not the case in Valletta on account of the city being on a mount. Restaurants to visit (with my rating for food); Terrone-5; Le Regatta-4.5; Enchante-4; Aqua Blue-4; Novita-3.5. Bolt, Uber and eCabs are plentiful and cheap (no need to hire a car) but don't be shy of using public buses which are much cheaper and take you around the towns on Malta. In addition to browsing around the local environs plus Valletta, places to have on your list should include; Mdina/Rabat; Gozo (Victoria & Ramla Bay) by fast ferry; Marsaxlokk. If you are looking for good temperatures e.g.

Everything. The design is amazing. So many little details have been considered. Cleanliness is 10/10. Staff are super friendly. Views from the 2 rooftop terraces are to die for. Just everything, communication from the owners was amazing. Cannot not fault anything. Will 100% be returning and recommending.

There is simply nothing to dislike

The hosts Michael and Eric were very helpful and took time to engage with us and give us advice on places to visit and eat during our stay. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and Frances was there to provide eggs cooked to our preference, ie scrambled, poached etc along with toasting the bread of our choice. If you wanted breakfast on the terrace then your selection was placed on trays and carried up there for you by Nitheesh and either Eric or Michael. Nothing was too much trouble for them and their priority was ensuring your stay was 5* which ours was. The hotel was immaculate and we will certainly be staying there when we return to Malta next year.

There was nothing we didn’t like our stay there exceeded expectations.

From the moment we entered thought the blue door, everything was just ‘Wow!!’ The entire hotel was beautifully decorated and when we were shown into our room (rm6) on the top floor, going up in the glass lift, we were blown away by the breathtaking view! The room was so beautiful yet very cosy and of course spotlessly clean. The location was just right for us too, away from the hassle and bustle of Valletta but only 10 minutes across the water by the cute local boats (€2 each way). Every morning, we ate fantastic breakfast on the top terrace enjoying the amazing view (gluten free available). The host, Eric and Michael were very helpful and made us feel very welcome, always available to answer any questions we had before/during our stay. We highly recommend Senglea Suits to anyone looking to enjoy the delights of Malta. We can’t wait to go back!

None we liked everything about it.

The hotel is beautiful, full of lovely furniture and thoughtful touches (an ice maker, lanterns for the terrace, make-up mirrors and wipes, beautiful lighting details...). Michael and Eric are the perfect hosts with excellent, helpful communication, and Nitish looked after us so kindly. Lovely breakfasts can be taken indoors or on the terrace. Most exceptional of all are the outdoor spaces, particularly the rooftop which offers breathtaking views over the 3 cities and to Valletta. Easy access to Birgu (20-30 min walk) and to Valletta by ferry, water taxi, or Bolt. There are several restaurants on the waterfront a few minutes' walk from the hotel.

The hotel is pretty perfect, but a closer convenience store or mini market would be a great addition to the area!

This was by far the best place we ever stayed in. It surely deserves a 20 out of 10! Michael and Eric are amazing people who have given a lot of thought, dedication and love to creating such a beautiful place. They were always responding quickly, had helpful information throughout our stay and could not have been more supportive. We loved the personal welcome and the room we stayed in was perfectly clean and brilliantly furnished. Frances’ omelette for breakfast is the best we ever tasted and Nitheesh is always there to help with anything needed. It really felt like home away from home! We cannot wait to be back!

Beautifully renovated and maintained building in a quiet but convenient location - only a 10 minute walk to the ferry to Valletta. Eric and Michael are wonderful hosts always on hand to assist in any way like arranging taxis, recommending restaurants and places to see. There are some amazing restaurants on the water’s edge within a 5 minute walk from the hotel and there was no need to hike into Valletta for evening meals. Breakfast was served at the hotel and comprised a nice variety including cold meats, pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs done to order and then served either in the dining room or on an open deck on the top floor. There is a lift which was convenient. Our bedroom was beautiful and very tastefully furnished with tea and coffee making facilities and fresh milk provided. The rooms are kept immaculately clean as is the whole hotel. One of the best properties we have ever stayed at.

Nothing- Senglea Suites had everything we looked for in a boutique hotel.

Senglea Suites is an oasis of calm with absolute exquisite taste. Eric & Michael are fabulous hosts and made it feel like being at home each morning and like coming home at the end of each day. They were gracious, interested, friendly and helped with suggestions and recommendations. They have done an elegant renovation and we hope to stay again to see the new additions. Frances makes a delicious omelet for breakfast and to go up to the rooftop to eat was amazing. Nitheesh was always looking out for us and we really appreciated his attention to detail. We were lucky to stay in 2 rooms over our 5 days and we loved many things including the multitude of power plugs in your room , the fridge, the beautiful fittings & furniture (especially the chandeliers), the wonderfully comfy bed and the big bathrooms. Don’t hesitate to stay at Senglea Suites- you’ll love it!
