My wife and I spent three wonderful days at Provicario, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. From the moment we arrived, Patrice and his wife Isabelle were incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome, offering excellent recommendations for things to see and do around the island. The location was perfect—quiet, scenic, and well-situated for exploring Gozo. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully appointed, with a modern and comfortable bathroom to match. One of our favorite spots was the roof terrace, which provided a lovely place to relax and enjoy the views after a day of exploring. Each morning, we looked forward to the varied and delicious breakfast, which was a perfect start to the day. We highly recommend Provicario to anyone visiting Gozo—it’s a place where attention to detail and genuine hospitality come together to create a truly memorable stay.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Provicario, right in the heart of Victoria. The highlight was the stunning rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the town and the Citadella. It was the perfect place to enjoy breakfast in the morning and a relaxing drink at sunset. Our room on the second floor was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely private terrace. The hotel also offers a convenient bar fridge on the main level, which is great if you need water or a beverage after local shops have closed. Since the property is located in the town square, it is surrounded by historic churches. The bells ring throughout the day and night, and you may also hear birds in the early hours, which seemed to be a source of frustration for other reviewers. Light sleepers might want to bring earplugs or an eye mask. These were not issues for us, and they are easy to manage. They should not take away from the charm of staying in such a lovely spot. There is also no elevator/lift but this is made clear in the reviews already mentioned. Breakfast is provided daily without a menu, so it helps to share any dietary needs or preferences in advance. The food is fresh and often comes from local bakeries and shops. Patrice, the host, is friendly and welcoming. He is a pleasure to talk to at breakfast and is full of helpful suggestions for exploring the area. Provicario is a special place and a great base for discovering Gozo.

Stayed 4 nights in a wonderful suite with easy access to the roof terrace as well as our own private terrace looking out to the Citadella. Beautifully restored house in the centre of Victoria with easy access to public transport and all the main sights. Engaging hosts who happily chatted about Gozo life over a varied breakfast with Gozitan pastry treats. Varied restaurants nearby for evening meals. Great cliff and coastal walking easily accessible. Ambling round the Citadella in the evening when the daytrippers had gone was a joy. Would recommend to friends without hesitation, and hope to return ourselves.

Nothing to dislike at all!

The hotel was beautifully appointed, and better in person than in the photos. Our room was a great size and very breezy with lots of windows. We had a lovely view of the Citadella from our room and our balcony, which was lovely to sit and rest after a day of sightseeing. The hotel was centrally located and an easy walking distance to anywhere in Victoria; to the square, the Citadella, restaurants and shops. Our hosts Patrice and Isabelle were the loveliest couple, and freely gave advice on how to make the most of our day during our delicious breakfast on the terrace each morning. Their recommendations were really helpful and we enjoyed chatting with them to learn about their own lives living in Gozo.

These are not negatives for us - just points to make others aware... Part of being centrally located means you're also near churches, with bells. We knew this when we booked, so were not suprised by the bells early in the morning. So much so, we slept with the windows open! Our room was on the top floor, which also meant climbing the stairs (there is no lift), but again we knew this as it was clearly mentioned before booking. Again, not a negative, but important for other guests to make sure they read the information before booking to avoid surprises.

By far one of the best accommodation we have ever had. Our hosts were super friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They shared knowledge of the area and of key things to do and see whilst in Gozo. Breakfast was fantastic, served by our hosts and they took the time each morning to chat with guests. The hosts were great communicators, prior to check in and throughout the stay. Check in and out process was super easy. The room was spectacular, right in the heart of Victoria. Location was superb, close to sights and public transport. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend staying here! Also photos of the rooms on booking.com were accurate.

Superb location, in the heart of town but quiet by night. The owners are very hospitable and accomodating. I loved that they provided beach towels. Room was large, with plenty of space for luggage as well as a large separate bathroom. Space is modern with heritage charm. Cute communal terrace to eat the breakfast that’s included.

Just a preference - would have loved Greek style Yoghurt rather than the one provided. There are lots of stairs so you’ll need to consider this if you have mobility issues or large heavy luggage.

The owners, Patrice and Isabelle, were really friendly, making you instantly feel at home and offering great suggestions for walks, swimming places, and using the buses. The hotel has been beautifully created and is a lovely mix of old and new. The roof terrace is a perfect place for the delicious breakfast or an evening beer, with its stunning view of the Citadel. Fantastic location in the old part of the city; busy by day, but empty and quiet at night.

Amazing continental breakfast with a different fresh pastry every morning, great location in the centre of Victoria and only 5 minutes walk from the bus station (you can get to everywhere you need to from here). The rooms were stunning and the beds were also really comfy. Would love to visit again.

We liked everything.

Provicario is perfecty located in the centre of Victoria and the historical building is totally renovated. The rooms are very nice, soundproof and with a confortable kingsized bed. Isabelle and Patrice provided very useful information for visiting Gozo. Breakfast was quite good. The roof terrace is simply fantastic, with an amazing view on the Cittadella.

Towels and room cleaning are available only on demand. At least cleaning might be arranged every day without asking.

The location is perfect and the hotel was decorated nicely superbly presented, the way that isobelle and patrice made you feel very welcome and were super hosts with lots of knowledge with ideas and best places to visit, what to expect and how to get there

Although there is a fridge for you to use in the kitchen on top floor a mini fridge would have been a nice touch especially as it can get really hot in summer
