Beautiful resort with amazing location, right on the beach. Most rooms have an amazing azure ocean view. If you want a perfect affordable beach resort in Mauritius, this is it! Room size is fine. We were a family of 3 (2 adults + teenage son). It was sufficient. Bathrooms are clean and have modern fittings, beds are comfortable (except the child bed, which they fixed later when we complained quite a bit). Coffee-maker and micro-fridge in every room. They give you one 1.5 liter of bottled water per room every day. May not be sufficient, but you can buy additional water from a store nearby. We had a rental car which we could park easily without any hassle. One day, we took bus to Port Louis, which comes right outside the resort. The bus ticket to go to Port Louis from the resort is MUR 41 per adult, with buses every 15-20 minutes. The staff at the hotel is helpful and they'll help you in navigating within Mauritius, suggesting places, suggesting how to get there etc. There are games (a bad foosball table and an okayish ping-pong table) at the hotel. Pool is beautiful. Large enough to swim a bit, or just relax! Jacuzzi is not great - it never got warm enough for me despite trying multiple times. The resort/hotel provides free kayaking and glass bottom boat rides. Sailing is available at additional cost, but I would not recommend it unless you know how to sail. If you are going with the instructor there, it's just an expensive joy ride in the ocean - nothing else (I made that mistake)! Breakfast spread is huge, although it gets boring after a couple of days - same menu every day! Limited options for vegetarians like me. Super-market and some restaurants are nearby, at a walking distance of about 1-1.5 km (5 minutes by car, if you rent a car). If you know how to drive, I strongly would recommend to rent a car in Mauritius. Taxi is exhorbitantly expensive and unreliable. Overall, very good experence at Coral Azur Beach Resort!

Internet connectivity is horrible. Do not rely on it at all! It's just terrible terrible. Never works! Buy a local SIM card (MUR 750 for 200 GB) and then you are good with your phone's hotspot. Room phone (if you have to call reception) does not work 80% of the times. Kid bed was not good. Had to request multiple times until they fixed it on the 5th day of our stay. Housekeeping is okay. Most things were taken care, but a couple of times, they did not put towels in the room, water bottle. Had to go and request it. Sometimes, the attitude of the front-desk staff (some of them) is not great when you request such things. But I chose to ignore it.

We spent eight nights at the Coral Azur. I highly recommend the hotel. Below are the specifics. We arranged transportation to/from the airport with hotel. We had five adults. The total round trip cost per person was ~$40 USD. It was efficient and easy. The rides to/from the hotel were just under an hour. All communication with the hotel was efficient. We arrived at the hotel around 9:30 PM. The check-in staff allowed us to eat off the buffet (closed at 10 PM) for no charge. We did not ask to eat or say we were hungry. They just said “help yourself.” In all of our travels, this was a first! Check was relatively easy. Rooms are standard size with a balcony. I think all rooms are ocean view, which is a nice perk. Also, one can view the excellent sunsets from the balcony. Our room had a fridge, safe, good shower pressure with hot water, and toilets that flushed without problem. Pool area was nice with plenty of chairs. The hotel has nightly entertainment. Breakfast buffet was good with a large selection and included everything one would want for breakfast, including mimosas! Breakfast, and dinner if one chooses to eat at the hotel, is in an open-air restaurant. To minimize the impact of birds, the staff provide bread outside of the restaurant. It works reasonably well but not 100%. Be prepared for birds flying around during meals. There are plenty of taxis available outside the hotel. We negotiated service with one taxi driver for the week. They took our family to town for shopping, etc. We also used them for a ride to dinner every evening. The area has several nice restaurants but very few within walking distance. It was cost effective to eat out than eat at the hotel. Very nice hotel with many activities and friendly staff. Green and clean territory, facing the sea (no beach). Exactly between two big beaches, Mon Choisy and Trou-aux-biches. Majority of guests are French speaking, but staff talks French, English, German - no problems with communication. Team looks very built together, and management is caring and involved. Dinner is different every day and represents different countries - nice way to get to know various Mauritian culture. Lunch you can easily get from the big beaches food trucks, there’s also a supermarket 2 mins away. A bus stop and a taxi station are in front of the hotel, which give easy access to Grand Bay (ship trips) and Botanical Garden (nature). The sea view room has the best sunsets, rooms are freshly renovated. Be aware that hotel offers for free table tennis, kayak, glass bottom boat trip and various sport equipment like balls and rackets on request. In most of the activities guests can win free cocktails from the bar. All the evening activities end at 22 so you can sleep in peace.

The hotel is not beachfront - technically you can jump in the sea through the rocks, but the sandy beaches require a bit walking, there no sun beds are provided. For the same reason kayaking is very limited, because of the stones. No volleyball field as stated on official website. Some activities are canceled/postponed without the notice. No clothes drying standers in the room, the door between toilet and the room almost doesn’t exist, it is a sliding door.

Overall we had a fantastic experience, the hotel was not busy and we felt super relaxed after the holiday. We were also lucky to have sunny weather every day so we were out and about. It only rained one of the days out of seven, and that was the day we went shopping in Grand Baie. We enjoyed the excellent food, breakfast and dinner buffets at the hotel. Each evening they had a different country theme for dinner and that was interesting. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. We enjoyed the Sega show and Drumming band, the glass bottom boat tour was also wonderful, plus my son enjoyed the evening kids games. The hotel is centrally located so we walked to Mont Choisy beach (10min) and also Trou Aux biches (15min) where we were able to snorkel straight off the beach. I swam in the pool once but the sea was warmer so we swam in the sea rather. I think at peak season the hotel will feel too crowded and not as relaxing. We also used the kayaks and peddle boats which were free to use which was fun!

The room was a bit on the small side for 3. My sons fold out bed was too close to the bathroom door. Also dinner starts at 7.30pm only and this is late for kids. My son would have a pizza before dinner as he could not wait till 7.30pm. They should also consider during winter the sun sets around 5.45pm so there was a fair amount of waiting till dinner time. It would have been better if they started the dinner buffet even a little bit earlier. Also please bring your eye cover for when you sleep, there are black out curtains but I had to cover some of the lights (like wifi booster, telephone panel etc) in the room with towels as they were distracting me.

The room was fully equipped with the amenities mentioned and was spotless. However, the swimming pools and children’s playground could use some repairs. Staying at this hotel gives you the opportunity to take a short boat tour with a glass bottom, as well as use the kayak or pedal boat, which was a great experience. There’s also access to a sandy beach in front of the residences and nearby hotels.

On the first night, we had trouble sleeping due to a small window above the bathroom that didn’t have curtains, but this was easily fixed by putting up a towel. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was slow. We only had breakfast at the hotel once which was mediocre.

She noticed that I was a solo traveler and invited me to lunch one day to keep me company 😊 It was delightful • Very clean and well maintained. • Bus to Port Louis is just a few steps away across the street. • There were a few activities hosted by the resort, like the welcome cocktail party and karaoke. • I booked my airport transfer through Booking.com and it was the lowest cost of all the companies. Very smooth connection with driver who was pleasant for the long drive. 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦... • In this small town, there are not many dining options and some of the higher rated places are only open for dinner, i.e., walking after dark. Prepare for the possibility of having all meals at the resort. • Some reviews mentioned party noise from the entertainment area. I heard music, not unpleasantly loud and it stopped promptly at either 10p or 11p, definitely not later.

very good price, the kids were both happy about the kids pool and the normal pool. We only had breakfast included, but that was nice and we had many things to choose between. The staff was very kind and helpfull. The Beach nearby was lovely, and we also had the oppertunity to see som fish at the Beach just in front of the hotel

Our room had a wonderful view - we were told it was the best room in the resort. Social activities happen each evening. The buffet breakfasts offer a wide choice. It particularly caters for groups and families. The staff are very interested in making your stay enjoyable - they ask each morning what you'll be doing and if you have any comments to make. We planned to snorkel off the beach as the description said this was possible - but when we got there we were told there wasn't anything to see - though in fact we did find patches of regrowing coral and one area with plenty of fish.

The buffet each evening was relatively expensive - we explored the local area and found several other nice restaurants nearby. It's quite a self-contained resort (good for families with children) but it's worth going out and exploring more of what Mauritius has to offer.

I firstly want to express gratitude for the amazing people of Coral Azur who made my birthday week the best one I have ever had. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by Vincent and P, with a cocktail drink and in no time we were taken to our room. The best room in the Resort like Vincent said, and he didnt lie. The views?! Nothing short of amazing. On the first night of our arrival you would expect us to rest from our flight and settle in but no we were whisked away by a night of fun Karaoke with Joana, one of my favourite people there-if you meet her you will see why. I want to tell you all about our exprecince because everyday was unique and the kindness, humility, patience and thoughtfulness of everyone at Coral Azur, but I will try to keep it short. If you love fitness, there's yoga and aqua activities in the pool every morning after breakfast. Every night, there is some fun activities after dinner too, besides karaoke you will enjoy game nights, disco night (with a dj), or a cocktail night. Breakfast time you will meet all the lovely chefs that will tend to your every need if you love food like my partner and I. And while you are sitting there enjoying your meal, you might end up being serenaded by Jennifer Lopez of Mauritius, you are lucky if its your birthday because you get to be serenaded everyday. On the resort there is free paddle boating and kayaking, also a glass boat cruise to see the coral reef. All of the above come standard to your visit but i want to also mention the extra mile the staff went for this memorable vacation: They helped my partner organise a romantic evening, you know rose petals champagne and all. They baked a special birthday cake which I thought i would just get a slice with one candle on it but no, I absolutely loved it. The mama from housekeeping and laundry who ironed our clothes even if it was late so we can be ready for our dinner, thank you so much.

I loved everything about this place, I wish we could stay longer.
