We were so lucky to choose Hotel Teocalli. It's in a perfect location: just a short walk to restaurants, bars. shops in the town centre. The grounds are truly delightful: a lush, green oasis with beautiful tiled pathways and sparkling fountains. Our room was lovely: spacious, gracefully decorated and very clean. We spent one long afternoon lounging in the sun and enjoying the pool as the friendly the staff brought us delicious snacks and drinks. Great breakfasts too, and healthy! Everyone we met at Hotel Teocalli was super friendly and welcoming. We will definitely go back! Highly recommended.

It was a quiet place (no people talking or partying at night). Nice view of the mountain from our room. The pool we didn’t use but it looked nice.

Very dark at night. We had to use flashlights to get to our room. Not many vegan options at the restaurant and not many amenities in the room (no hairdryer, no iron, no tv). The room looks dated in person compared to the pictures. The man that runs the hotel was very friendly but did not respect our wishes to carry our bags and insisted we leave them in the reception office which made us a bit uncomfortable.

The staff are all very warm, welcoming and helpful. The pool was such a treat, too. The place and our room were very clean. They topped off our water container everyday which was very convenient.

The only minor suggestion is that the complimentary breakfast started at 9am which was a bit late for what we're used to.

Very charming and peaceful property. Friendly staff and best part was the yoga classes. The teacher was amazing.

It’s an older hotel so they still do everything by paper. They didn’t have my information when I checked in. They still write out all the final receipts and etc which may be an issue if you are trying to claim it back with travel insurance.

The location is right next to the downtown and Zocalo area of Tepoztlan, but far enough away to be quiet at night. The restaraunt was lovely, and the grounds are pristine and amazing. The staff is super friendly. The massage was incredibly relaxing and well priced.

The bed was a bit firm and the pillows a bit lumpy, but all in all I slept much better than I expected. The AC takes a while to get up and running, but once it's running it's great. Staff doesn't speak much English at all, despite the listing having English as a language, but you're not near the border, and you're not in the city. It's perfectly reasonable for them to expect you to speak Spanish. They are super kind and helpful, and even if your Spanish is broken they will appreciate the effort and help you with a smile. Know some Spanish before coming, or use Google translate and you will have an amazing time. My biggest complaint is that the sewer system can't handle toilet paper, so just know that ahead of time if you experience Montezuma's revenge.

Hotel Teocalli is a gem in the heart of Tepozlan. Beautiful setting with a small garden and a pool for an afternoon chill. The rooms are very nice and clean with beautiful view on the mountain. The hotel staff are the nicest we have ever met, and the hotel manager don Marco was always present to make sure we have everything we need. This place was so magical. They also have massage, yoga and Temazcal service which I highly recommend.

All was perfect

A quiet boutique hotel set in lovely grounds several blocks from trendy Tepotzlan's Zocalo. Our room was large and comfortable (note: electric cooler but no aircon) showers were nice and hot, the open-air breakfast room is beautifully peaceful. The hotel arranges free and secure parking. Marco the owner and his staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

I felt the hotel was rather let down by some of the details; insufficient bottled water, towels, toilet paper, pillows, poor-quality shampoo, no conditioner etc etc. I also suggest a breakfast start time of 0900 is inconveniently late. Try to look beyond the details and the hotel offers a very pleasant stay

We loved our room "without" TV! We had a nice view of the mountains from our 2nd story patio. Marco, the owner was one of the nicest, funniest and most accommodating hosts we've experienced in our many booking.com stays. Janet and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful and responsive to our needs. The breakfast was great with various fruits, yogurt, granola, wonderful healthy blender drink, hearty toast and coffee. The fruit plate was a work of art. Later we had a delicious fish lunch with great guacamole & chips. The grounds and pool area are beautiful and serene. We both had hour long massages. We enjoyed our entire relaxing stay. A great respite from busy Mexico City. One word of caution would be the streets in the village are step, narrow and have uneven cobble stones. The movie "The Magnificent Seven" was made there in 1960 and the village has grown much larger now. There are many shops, street vendors and restaurants in Tepoztlán!!

Walking in the village can be difficult and there are some steep streets and traffic on the weekends. We're in our seventies and we had a good workout.

Very tranquil and positive space. Great team and lovely owner, they really care about the vibe there Nice pool, clean rooms, great location, good coffee on the morning, bonus was yoga classes in the morning and evening. Very lovely memories from there!

If breakfast can be served a bit earlier than 9am would be great! Or at least a coffee:)

Our host was always present and helpful. Our first night we had no hot water but the issue was resolved by the next morning.

Well, as I said, the hot water problem. But it got resolved. It might have been nice if our host had maybe offered us a breakfast for our trouble. But really, not an big deal.
