Casa Makawe was absolutely perfect for our stay in Sayulita! -Communication/customer service: Amazing! The host was fantastic about communicating prior to our arrival, during our stay, and after we left. He was incredibly kind and honest! (We accidentally left a large sum of cash behind in our room and didn't realize it until after we were on our way back to the states. The host went above and beyond to ensure we got our money back. You don't find this level of honesty and customer service often and we are so incredibly appreciative!) - Location: Ideal - very close walking distance to the beach, town square and all the restaurants/shops but just far enough away to be nice and quiet at night. There is a little shop for necessities right by Casa Makawe, along with two fantastic restaurants (Sur 38 and Yay Yay Sayulita Cafe). - Accommodations: Just right! We stayed in room 301. The room was wonderful and as pictured in the photos. It's a large room with two balconies facing different directions. There are two AC units to keep the room cool, as well as 3 ceiling fans. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower is huge with a rainfall shower head and plenty of hot water. The kitchen area has everything needed to cook a meal, and the sink has a filtered water tap for drinking water that we drank without any issues. There's also a pitcher provided to fill and keep in the fridge. Coffee maker is a drip coffee maker (not k-cup) in case you're bringing your own coffee/filters. We highly recommend Casa Makawe and look forward to staying there in the future!

Everything was wonderful!

Overall we liked it very much. However, the first time we entered the room it had an unpleasant odor and was dark. Over time we got used to it, but perhaps something to work with. It has everything we needed. The owner was very nice and we he accommodated us with an inflatable mattress! We really liked the restaurant downstairs, The waiters who work there are very nice, but you have to wait very, very long for the food! It is close to the center and the beach! We will definitely come back and stay in the same place!

The room was extremely nice, clean and air conditioned. The unit had a beautiful view that overlooked the town and even had a hammock. The property manager was extremely personable and was able to arrange atv rentals for us and even helped up accommodate a late checkout because of a late flight home the next day. There was an excellent restaurant on the ground floor called SUR38 with amazing breakfast and dinner I highly recommend. The property was walking distance to the beach and all the town amenities which is a huge plus to us…. Oh the roof top pool was great with amazing views of the town!

The staff were warm and accommodating. Our room was spacious, clean, and bright! The food served from the restaurant in room was delicious - we samples all of their desserts and recommend them all!

Ordering breakfast and letting them know in advance of our time schedule did not help - it took quite awhile for our food to arrive, so we asked to switch to take out/to go instead, which they did accommodate. We walked quickly to ensure that we made it to our pickup on time and then only had a few minutes so if possible, I would request that their kitchen open earlier to accommodate guest activities that begin early morning such as ours (which was a day trip to La Isla Marieta).

The breakfasts were superb! We had their tapas menu once and it did not meet our expectations, maybe an off night? The location was great, just a short walk up hill from the town square. The staff was more the welcoming and very helpful, whatever I asked for was provided promptly (wine glasses, hangers etc) The roof top pool area was very nice and the pool water was very clean. ( I know clean water because I used to have a pool) Also appreciated adults only especially the pool area.

The queen rooms are at the back of the property and I found the room a little dark and the balcony was very small and right next to your neighbour. The king suites are very deluxe, lots of light too! Also the filtered water is NOT safe to drink, there is more needed to purify water then an under sink filter, no big deal, we bought our own water, but shouldn’t tell clients it’s safe.

Host contacted us through Whatsapp as we landed at the airport. Great communication. There is no reception but a restaurant next door that is owned by the same people. Upon arrival host met us outside, showed us where to park and showed us the room which has a coded entry. Room was spacious and clean. Nice little kitchenette. Rooftop pool was great for late afternoon swims. Very convenient location with only a 3 minute walk into town and the beach.

The room was great, everything was essentially as pictured and the building was quiet. Everyone was friendly and the location was perfect!

A couple bugs around the room (to be expected in Mexico), no kitchen garbage can and only one set of towels. I'm sure we could have requested more but without a front desk it wasn't very clear how to contact our host and request things.

Great Location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy access to building, room, pool. Off street parking was available though you don't really need a car - more like a golf cart or 4 wheeler would be approrpriate

There were occasionally off smells in the unit, due to the water traps drying up - so we needed to run water in all the drains frequently to prevent it, but this is pretty usual for Sayulita.

What a find! Tucked into an Area close to where I normally stay but, sooo much quieter. The rooftop infinity pool? Bones! And then, the Restaurant on the Ground Level, Sur38…well now, words can barely describe this hidden gem. The food quality and variety of this Tapa style place, I just wish I could have been there long enough to try everything. I will return, and often!

Really fantastic location, amazing pool grade vibe. Food at the restaurant is out of this world. Although there is an extra charge, if you’re having dinner, you should definitely do it.

I wanted a view, that is the only requirement that they was hoping for. There is definitely a view at the pool, the rooms are spacious and lovely come on, but no view within the room that I booked.
