I had a great stay in the 10-bed dorm. Comfy beds with privacy curtains made it feel cozy. The kitchen is well-equipped with nice views, and the staff and volunteers were super friendly. The hostel is kept very clean, which I really appreciated during my two-week stay. Air conditioning runs from 9 PM to 8 AM, which makes sleeping much more comfortable. It’s also just a 5-minute walk from town, offering a more peaceful setting while still being close to everything. They run daily activities that seemed fun, even though I didn’t join.

Only small downside: cleaners occasionally came in around 9–10 PM and left the lights on, but it wasn’t a big issue.

This is a gorgeous hostel located on a hill with a wonderful view of the surrounding area. The beds were comfortable other than being pods and not having a fan for air circulation. We had an issue with our shower and they fixed it right away! Very friendly staff, clean facilities and a nice roof top bar and restaurant. Was great having a pool at the property as well

Not an accessible hostel by any means, unless you stay on the ground floor. It is 5 stories tall, so be preapred to walk a lot of stairs and the hill to enter the hostel. The front doors are not locked at night with no staff at the desk, so didnt feel very secure.

Location is good, even though it is on a hill. I stayed in a bunk bed in a 12-person room and the rooms were never noisy, always clean and everyone was super respectful. The bathroom was always tidy. If you are travelling alone it is a great option as they do organise activities regularly and every night they do a meet up at the bar with all the new arrivals, which gives you the chance to meet other people.

The air conditioning was irregular, there is a fixed time for it to work but sometimes it would run throughout the day, others it was turned off even at night. I do think that the price is high for the facilities, but that is more a problem of Sayulita than the hostel itself.

I had a private room and thought it was very comfortable and clean. I loved having a kitchen, which is a rarity in hostel privates. I just wish there was more cooking supplies to work with. The location was perfect, close enough to walk to the action but far enough away to be quiet at night. I loved that the hostel offered several group meet ups and social activities every day.

Total miss on lounge furniture. There's a huge empty deck space with 2 hammocks and about 5 loungers by the pool that were always in use so anytime I wanted to relax during the day, I never could find a place to go. Because of this I never really hung out there and missed out on the social vibe

I had an excellent stay at Viajero Hostel and I can't recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, the friendly staff, especially Jasmine, made me feel right at home. She went above and beyond to ensure my experience was memorable. The hostel itself is impeccably clean, and the facilities are top-notch. Whether you're looking for a comfortable lounge area, well-equipped kitchens, or cozy dorms, Viajero has it all. This place is perfect for travelers seeking a welcoming atmosphere and great amenities. If you're planning a trip, I highly recommend Viajero Hostel for an unforgettable stay!

Pool only opened at noon daily. Would be nice if it was open from earlier.

I traveled as a solo female- I always felt safe in Sayulity but specifically at Viajero. The Stuff is incredible and you will leave feeling like family. The food and the bar are also great and super convenient. Shoutout to Alex the bartender, he is the best and you will love his creations! Sayulity is also a great spot to learn or get better at surfing. I ended you going to La Lancha many times for better surf and there were always people at the hotel who were down to join.

Obviously everyone talks about the hill being a negative (because who likes walking up a hill?!) but honestly the separation from the main street and town is MUCH appreciated. Plus it's a free workout!

I had the most incredible time at Viajero Sayulita! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the amazing staff and volunteers. Nico, Mikey, Alex, Pao, Osvaldo, and the rest of the team truly went above and beyond to make me feel at home; they all made an effort to learn my name within just a few days. The facilities, beds, rooms, activities, and overall vibes were all absolutely immaculate—everything you could want for a perfect stay. The attention to detail from every staff member was remarkable, and you could feel their genuine love for their jobs in everything they did. Don’t let the hill put you off choosing Viajero; it’s absolutely worth it! I came not knowing how long I’d stay, but I ended up staying nearly a month, and I wish I could have stayed even longer. The friendships I made here, with both the staff and other guests, will last a lifetime. I can't thank everyone enough for the unforgettable experience—I’ll absolutely be back as soon as I can. Forever a Viajero guest wherever possible! #ViajeroSayuForLife

Great place to stay. The apartment was spacious with all you need and great to have a kitchen. Pool, restaurant and bar area was great and a rooftop for morning yoga, sport or stretching. Super friendly staff. Music stops playing around 11:00 at night. We were there in the off season, not sure how it normally is.

Really annoying steep hill to get to the property, but hey, it’s a good workout. One guest got bitten by a neighboring dog.

This is my 5th viajero hostel to stay in. I have stayed montevideo Uruguay, Lima Peru, Medillin Colombia, Buenos Aires and now salyulita mx. The reason is meeting other travelers from around the world. VIAJEROS promotes meets and greets, pub crawls and more. My only complaint here is it is located at top of a BIG hill which sucks in flip flops. Same for no elevator for 6 floors. Great exercise tho!!! Looking forward to Viajeros hostel in Oaxaca in 2 months.

It's the people here that have made it an absolute memorable stay. Nico, Alex, Jasmin, Max, Chica (semi-resident dog), Gato,......... So many freaking good people both working here and visiting. This place is not for the pretentious it's for the real.

What I don't like is what I find with most corporate entities. They did not build with nature. This area is having extreme difficulty in regards to water because of the overdevelopment and there is no water catchment or a real incorporation of nature into the architecture.
