Casa Selva in a gem in the jungle. It's just off the main road from that divides the beach front properties and is tucked away on the hillside. The individual bungalows are very unique with barn doors throughout. We had the queen room with kitchenette and loved that the bedroom was separated by a barn door. The shower was huge! All of the windows opened outward with enough tinting to maintain privacy. Each window had two vertical privacy curtains as well and there was a door on the far wall of the bedroom that opened up to the courtyard area with no screen for full open air. The breakfast on the top of the parking area was fantastic and made to order. It also had a partial view of the ocean. The walk to town took about 15 minutes but little bar/restaurant/businesses popped up along the walk too. To access the beach walk down the hill to the main road and then turn left as if going to town. There will be a beach access trail on the right about 50-100feet away. Not labeled but if you are looking it is very easy to spot. It is a quiet area and since they are made out of hard wood they are not sound proof. So keep that in mind but it was exactly what we wanted after a night on the town. Will100% book this place again.

Beautiful property, jungle like setting with rustic but very comfortable cabins. Comfortable beds, mosquito netting, great hot shower, kitchenette, purified drinking water in room, very nice small swimming pool. Easy walk to beach. 20 minute walk to center of town with cobblestones and up & downs. Nice breakfast. Mostly nice staff. But not full service, be prepared to carry your own luggage.

Many cabins were up difficult spiral staircases. We asked for fewer steps and were happily in a cabin without many steps although access to the pool and breakfast involved steps. This is NOT a full service hotel. One morning we’re awakened early by likely iguanas scampering on our straw roof (although that’s part of choosing to stay in a jungly setting).

getting up to some of the rooms is not for the faint of heart because it requires you to scale a narrow spiral staircase with your luggage - although, I'm sure the hosts would help you if needed

We can highly recommand you to stay a few days at the beautiful and cozy Jungle Nests of Casa Selva, when visiting Sayulita. The dschungle garden is insane beautiful and a paradise for birds, butterflies and squirrels. You can watch them from your private wood jungle nest. The rooms are super clean and everyone was super friendly and carrying. Very hood breakfast included as well ( a la carde)

The rooms were super cute and pretty, but a bit smaller than expected.

Great location for those wanting to feel more in nature while still being a close walk to Sayulita. Easy check-in/check-out. Cabins are nicely designed. We didn’t notice any bugs, but there is mosquito netting on the beds just in case. As expected given the build of the cabins, there is little sound insulation. We expected this and it wasn’t an issue generally (in fact was nice to hear the nature noises — the 3am noises from other guests were less atmospheric, but we don’t blame this on the hotel at all), but if this is a dealbreaker for future guests, they might prefer a different property. Would choose to stay here again!

Beautiful tranquil property. Was like being in the jungle. Loved the pool. Was very warm when we were there.

Our room was very small. There was nowhere to put clothes or bags apart from on the floor, so it got very cluttered. There is nowhere to sit in the room which was made more difficult by the mezzanine bed.(Which we did love). I would make sure I reserved a bigger room next time.

Casa Selva does not serve breakfast, which was fine with us. As for the location, we found it perfect: a bit removed from busy traffic, set among beautiful tropical trees and plants. And walking up the hills to the compound was welcome exercise. The cabins are well made, appointed and maintained. We found our studio unit a bit small, so changed to one with a separate sitting room. The pool was lovely and clean; all who helped us were friendly and gracious.

A minor issue was the weak WiFi signal, especially toward the rear of the property. As is often the case, being in a lower unit can mean noise overhead into the night. Though management advises guest to be respectful.

Beautiful use of space in a lush gorge on the north side of Sayulita. We were glad to be away from the bustle of town. Our room was a tree house that faced the ocean. Arranged for a golf cart to get around town but it was easily walkable. Path down to the beach right below the hotel. The pool was so nice too! Could have spent a week here.

We liked everything! The concept, feeling in the middle of the jungle, the eco-friendliness of the hotel, the simplicity of everything, location was very quiet (as opposed to downtown sayulita). The hotel really invites you to disconnect from everything and enjoy nature. Everything is very self sufficient yet there's someone to help you if needed. They offer plates, pots & pans in case you want to cook. The pool was nice.

Nothing negative

Loved all the greenery. It felt like you were in the middle of a jungle—the outdoor property was incredible. There were a few places to enjoy outside of the room, such as a picnic area, several hammocks and of course the lovely pool. Also our room was super, with floor to high ceiling windows that opened up to the gorgeous surroundings and that gave a spectacular view. Everything was clean and very comfortable—I could’ve spent all my time visiting Sayulita in that room!
