The location is very good, on the beach, remote from the city, very calm. The room was spacious, well equipped kitchen, big balcony facing the ocean. Room service available, with good speed of service. On site mini-market is a good option, because the city is rather far and delivery services are not available.

Wi-Fi asks to reconnect too many times a day, which is specifically annoying when trying to watch a movie. Cleaning is daily but the quality of it has some field for improvement. Food in the restaurant is unstable - the same dish can be very good on one day and awful on the other.

The apartment was spacious, well designed, views of the mountains & beach, the restaurant had room service & the food was great. It is a big resort with 3 pools, lots of activities & a sales office. The beach (true for most of the Oaxaca coast) had big waves so no swimming. But the pools were great - one had a slide & volleyball net, another had the bar.

No so many people

Elevator was turned off the very 1st day we came,and we have to use the stairs for 7 days and they accommodate as on 4th floor 😞 + fridge never was able to make ice we ask for ice and they said don’t have.

This place was actually totally opposite of what I expected. They are most privately owned condos in a nice complex. But all the pools are beautiful. They have miles of private beach and the turtle conservatory came to the property to educate about their care and then we set baby sea turtles free. The sunsets are beautiful. The condo we rented was such a great size with everything needed. This is a great place if you want to hole up and get away.

The downside is you are far from town. The road to the property is a couple of miles of dirt road and you're about a 20 min ride into the city of Puerto Escondido. You are not in Puerto Escondido when you stay at this place. Also, there are only so many chairs and paplitas to use and people go out in the morning and just throw their stuff on them. I know we were there during high season but the property should get more chairs. Other than that, it was really nice.

The place was magical, the staff very kind, and the food of the restaurant was so good.

The only thing I didn’t like was something that doesn’t concern directly the resort. It’s about the other clients who were very possessive of their pool chairs. It might sound funny, but I didn’t feel welcome at the pool because everyone had already « reserved » for themselves à chair by putting a towel on it, so I had no place to stay. Even if they were gone to eat, I couldn’t sit on the empty chairs because it was « theirs ». I saw in the pool rules that we couldn’t reserve chairs, but I felt like I would have a big conflict if I tried to explain that to the people who asked me to leave their chairs.

the location, however it is far away from the town of Puerto Escondido, is a place to stay in without going out.

Cleaning service was always delay and needed to request it everyday. Also the restaurant food was complicated. There should be a s simpler menu for regular meals. The seats at the beach and at the swimming pool need to be better allocated by the management.

Installations, staff, restaurants, pools, privacy

Beach is not easy if you are not good swimmer. The property is about 30 minutes from puerto Escondido. And 15 minutes of those 30 are dirt road. The best is rent a car so you can go back at any time you want. I rent a car and I get in and out every day.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Luis was very nice and helpful. He help arrange our fishing and day trips into town. I want to give a very big Thank you to him for making our stay so special.

We did not have Wi-Fi in our room. 337. Wish the hotel provided more options for going into town and the places they offered you could go. The hotel is very far out of town, would of liked more shuttles into town.

Our stay in Vivo was truly exceptional. We were there with a group of friends and could not have dreamed of a better place to start our holiday in Mexico. The villa by the beach offers direct access to the sea and the pool. The facility around Vivo is lovely, the views fabulous and the rooms cosy. We did not expect to see so much wildlife from our Balcony with a constant show of whales, dolphins, jumping rays and pelicans flying in formation close to the waves. The hotel is also secluded from the other hotels meaning that you have all the peace you need, weather you like a morning jog on the beach or making use of the sun-chairs, all is there for you to have a relaxing time. The kids pool is also perfect for families to keep their kids occupied. The hotel bar made nice cocktails and the restaurant offers decent salads (though the menu is limited).

Not much negative points to report! The staff was a little overwhelmed and therefore not as responsive as we had hoped... (towels, taxi's etc) but overall all the people we interacted with were lovely. I would recommend to plan when you want to head to Puerto Escondido as it takes 30 to 40 minutest to get there and ideally build a relationship with a taxi driver you can count on. Finally, I would also recommend to go shopping on your first day if you plan on making food or using the pantry service offered by Vivo (the supermarkets are quite far and you will need to bring everything you need to cook). Had a 4 bedroom apartment very well equipped for a family stay. Right on the beach. The resort was almost empty so enjoyed the peace and quiet. Ocean is rough so used the pools which are excellent. 2 fo 1 Happy Hour at the poolside bar was great.
