I think the hotel has one of the cleanest and nicest beach area out of all other hotels in Cancun. The rooms are ok, a tad dated. The food was diverse and good for an all inclusive resort. It's also only a 20 mins car ride from the airport.

I believe the price paid (~600USD /night in 2023) is a bit too much for what the resort offers - but at the same time, Cancun is not a cheap place. Other than that, if your reservation is not Sunday to Sat, they will make you change rooms each Saturday, which is a bit annoying.

The beach and food/drink service on the beach were incredible. Room was comfortable and beachfront was well worth paying more for. Servers were exceptionally good. It had all sorts of options from kid friendly to more adult. A nice mix of activities

The restaurants associated with Royal Sands were hard to get into. You shouldn't have to get up at 8am on vacation to (maybe) get a dinner reservation. Bathrooms are small and dated. Time for an update. Prices look higher for next year so we are shopping around a bit.

Location

The system for controlling meals and beverages, although I had a all inclusive package they make bills to be signed (and to add tips of desired), but the problem is it was many times too slow, or it seems either the employees do not have enough training or they have computers with 386 processors...and twice they did not give the 50%discount when consuming coconut water, I could not understand why. The first time the employees solved easily the problem serving another coconut for free, but the second I only noticed when of check out and they were unable to just give the discount, they promised to credit back to my card, which is a solution I hope they comply.

We got an upgrade to the family room and it was very nice. We loved it. We enjoyed the jacuzzi for families at night a lot. And the food at the Hacienda Sisal was good. The acqua park is a plus. So definitely a good hotel for families. The sea is beautiful but rough waters. Definitely not for children.

It was difficult to get the right answers. For the same question we got different answers depending on the receptionist. It was impossible to have a late checkout, not available on Saturdays. There were no options to get a coffee unless you go to the restaurants or pay for it (which it's not nice when you pay for all inclusive). The app for Android never worked during our stay so we had to always call or go to the reception.

The rooms were large and quiet. We lived the fact that there was no loud music at the beach and that there were sufficient beds everywhere although you had to reserve one early in the morning if you wanted a specific location. Food was great and with a large variety.

Not really the resort itself but just all the drunken Americans hanging around the pool bar. but I assume that is Cancun…..

Nice hotel in a good position in the zona hotelera

When you arrive they ask you to preauthorise a deposit from your credit card for any extra expense you might do (specially if you book visit to Maya’s sites or similar). They actually charge you card, it’s not just a preauthorisation. Before leaving I paid the total amount of all the extra on my account, and they refunded the previous charge. The only problem is that due to conversion and fee the amount refunded was 120 dollars less of what initially debited on my card, that’s not fair, they should do a preauthorisation only and not a full charge, otherwise they should ask to pay straightaway for your extras.

Wonderful resort if the weather is perfectly sunny. (No public hot tubs.) Very clean and great service by all staff. Fabulous food, lots of healthy choices.

This resort has NO public hot tubs. If the weather is cool or you want to stay at the pool area later in the day (the sun retreats behind the hotel at 4:00), there is no hot tub to allow you to enjoy a cool day or stay later. We would have been able to enjoy the pool area for our three cool days if there was even one hot tub. As nice as the rest of the resort is, I wouldn’t choose this resort again during the winter and early spring months for this reason. (They do have two large, bubbly, shallow “warming pools”, as they told me they were named. They may have been a few degrees warmer than the pool water, but likely because they were so shallow. I asked time share owners why not a hot tub; they said likely the cost to heat them. 😞 Sad.

Excellent resort, clean and confortable rooms, good choice of restaurants, very well maintained. Beautiful sea and pool views from the room.

I would have liked to have a shower in addition to the bath tub. This what I would expect to find in a suite. I do not understand some of the reviews. We were not asked to attend a sales presentation and never had any issues booking the restaurants for dinner. Good choice of food. No limitation on the amount of food and drinks we could order from the menu. I would have liked beers to be included in the all inclusive package, although free beers were delivered in the room daily.

Staff were great! View of ocean and from Condo is perfect! The staff made the place!

Not enough activities. The most dead resort I’ve ever been to. The lifeguards are over the top strict to the point I would book elsewhere. Ruined the stay. We could only go to our ankles even though some of us proved we understand the ocean and are excellent in water as we are surfers.
