The place was clean and well taken care of. The beach area was always tidy.

The negative part of the review is not specifically for this hotel but for Mexico itself. Prices are ridiculously high (I am Swiss which is an expensive country, but Mexico topped it), and what you get for your money is well below average. For what you spend in Mexico you could go to the Maldives. The food was mediocre at best (with some exceptions of course). I know the Peso is doing very well but it’s very obvious that they’re trying to milk the cash cow in this country now. Check out Belize or Costa Rica instead. Also not cheap but waaaay higher standard.

The bed was very comfortable and our room was large. We really liked the fact that we were on the 14th floor and had a super nice sea view. The breakfast was also exceptional, definitely much better than in other Mexican restaurants and hotels. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We also liked the fact that snorkeling equipment and kayaks were available for free. The hotel's own reef is very beautiful.

Although we enjoyed our stay very much and the sea view was breathtaking, the hotel unfortunately cannot be compared with other Westin Hotels. Of course, the standard in other countries is always different, but our favorite of the rooms is simply the Westin in Hamburg.

The staff was very friendly, and the food at the breakfast/lunch restaurant was good. The room was spacious with a balcony- great view! The hotel was very clean.

The access to the ocean is limited due to the rocks at the edge. That made it hard for a lot of folks to swim at the same time. When we arrived only one elevator was working and the roof deck was closed. A few days in it was all open. There was a funky smell in the main lobby level- I think it is some kind of scent they are using, but we did not care for it.

Everything about the room was excellent. The food was superb, especially in Cozumil. Room service, especially breakfast was terrific. Sky Lounge is AMAZING!

The beach setup makes an upscale hotel look very cheap. There was not nearly enough covered seating, and the few umbrellas were ragged and poor. By far the worst beach facilities of all the places we've stayed on the island. It's a shame because the actual beach, swimming, and snorkeling is outstanding. It should be more like the setup at Sky Lounge.

nice sandy beach area

there has to be a better system in place with beach chairs. at busy times many chairs have wet and dirty towels but staff unsure if people will be back so they dont pick them up resulting in an unsightly beach scene and no patrons on chairs.

The ocean in front of the hotel was incredible for snorkeling, the location was amazing, and the masseuse at the spa was exceptional. The room had an outstanding view and was a great size.

They did not have enough outdoor furniture by the pool and beach, so guests would be without a place to sit/relax. We ended up just laying on the floor but that's not for everyone and not the most ideal. Not the end of the world but definitely room for improvement on that front.

We had the most amazing time at this hotel! The food was very very good and succeeded all expectations and we really liked that lunch and dinner was varied and all cooked freshly when ordered rather than being a buffet. The staff in the restaurants were also very attentive. The bar staff made the best cocktails too and were also very attentive. The rooms are beautiful and overlook the blue ocean. If we could’ve stayed longer, we would’ve have and would highly recommend this hotel, it was perfect.

Nothing!

breakfast top notch. room and bed super comfy and nice. view outstanding. area pretty good, beach small but snorkeling good. THE SERVICE TEAM STAFF WAS OUTSTANDING! we will miss them

communication with staff was difficult. Many things required extra effort such as getting our luggage to our room and having other things sent up, and figuring out what is available for room service. No communication was given in regards to vendors and guests showing up/performing.

The hotel is very modern and comfortable, the location and the view is awesome! The breakfast is very good but the food at the snack bar and dinner at the restaurant Cuzamil is mediocre. The food at Las Gaviotas restaurant is much better. It is a shame that such a good hotel does not have better food to offer.

The food at the restaurants and the wine by the glass.
